That's a great song always has been, always will be, and he sings it so well ...it's one of my favorite songs that he sings..❤
Tom's voice is insane.
That's why it was committed - to vinyl.
I saw him in Chicago in the 80s and I always thought he was a good singer but to me he was more of a flirt on stage. But...when he started to sing I was completely in shock. His voice was amazing. The power of his voice is what made him a great singer.
He was only 27 yrs old here - so suave & debonaire with such a smooth, melodic yet powerful voice... I was born the year this came out. As a little kid I remember my mom, aunties, their friends, & hell, even their mothers all and I mean ALL of them had huge crushes on Sir Tom Jones. Whenever he came on the TV, they would all crowd around it & get all giggly like a bunch of school girls. It was funny how they'd yell at us kids (or the husbands) to keep the noise down so they could hear him sing. :-)
Elvis Presley was a fan & friend, often saying that Tom's voice was the best he's ever heard. I remember watching footage of his concerts & seeing women throwing their panies on stage. As a kid, i didn't understand what was driving these weirdo ladies so crazy to strip off their underwear to toss them and their hotel room keys at his feet. Now I do understand - LOL! Ok, you must check out, in this order - "Delilah" and then "Green green grass of home" - seriously dark/deep lyrics but Tom sings them so beautifully that you forget what the songs are actually about. :-)

Great artist. Tom was a story teller. He recorded three songs I call the trilogy. 1- Never gonna fall in love. ( Being cheated on)
2- Delilah ( where he confronted the woman and actually killed her )
3- Green, green grass of home( where he dreams of going home, but is executed. He returned home in a casket ).

Very few can convey their feelings in a song. Plus great story tellers is a true talent! Tom still sounds great in his late 70s! He had a summer variety show and Janis Joplin did a duet that is so fantastic that you would love. It shows off Tom Jones dance moves. It's one of my favorite live performance! Janis Joplin and Tom Jones please. 💞✌🎶

Tom Jones is a beast. So many cats back then came out looking smooth and polished, with no autotune or mixing -- and just killed it live. Different than today. Men back then came out ready to WORK and put everything they had into it. That's years in the gym right there. Couldn't fake it. Pure vocal power.

Totally agree, Perfection! Tom is one of the greatest singers ever this song is one of the greatest in music history.Hes 82 of 83 now retained 90% of his voice still sounds great! He may still be a judge on Voice UK sang this absolutely incredible. Also still performing.

With Tam Joe’s Tom Jones was one of the best singers that came in to Vegas he came in there after Elvis Elvis and him were best of friends I saw many times in person in Vegas just like I saw Elvis I’m 75 I like all kinds of music I go over mostly blues like the mortgage and from the era of Janis Joplin back in the 60s music Fleetwood Mac what do you call a Lynyrd Skynyrd you know I love Stevie Ray Vaughan learned the greatest guitarist in the world and I can go I can listen to rap to rapBut I prefer blues and I meant to Pink Floyd Led Zeppelin I’ve been to many other concerts remember I’m 75 I was born in 1945 I’m still jammin I was still listening I don’t intend to stop German either your girl Liz the Queen

My Godmother took me to see Tom Jones twice, I was 15 and 16, my Godmother has seen him at least 40 times since 1967, I also seen him 6 times in the early 2000s, Tom Jones is unbelievable ! Yes, I got a kiss twice! He might be 82 but he's still just as sexy!!! 😊💞

Darlene Love, former singer with The Crystals and singer in her own right, who also played Murtaughs wife in the Lethal Weapon movies related on an Australian TV show that when she was on a tour with him and they were about to go to bed together he talked about all the women he had sex with before her. Just Tom being wonderful. This is when you new how to sing or you got a different career, today they have Autotune, ruined most singing starting in early 90's, there are exceptions but not many are mainstream...jmo.
Bullshit, there weren’t many mainstream artists in Tom’s era that could sing like this either. Tom was special.
Auto tune or era has nothing to do with it. There are just some artists that take it to another level. There are a few in (relatively) recent years too. Amy Winehouse, Gregory Porter, Adele, Rag and Bone Man (plus many others I’ve definitely missed). These people can all in their own way sing in that special, intangible way, that moves you. Don’t pretend like the only time there were good singers was the 60s70s.
