LYRICS:
Nearer to Thee I want to be
I want to dig a little deeper in the store-house of his love, God's love
Ooh, I want to shine with love sublime
I want to dig a little deeper in the store-house of God's love
Ooh, I want to dig a little deeper in God's love
Dig a little deeper in God's love
Dig a little deeper in God's love, his love, our love
Oh Lord, I want to talk more like a Christian should
Walk more like my Jesus would
I want to dig a little deeper in the store-house of his love
Oh Lord, I wan' dig a little deeper in God's love
Dig a little deeper in God's love
Dig a little deeper in his love, oh, his love
Oh Lord, I'll just talk more like a Christian should
Walk more like my Jesus would
I gon' dig a little deeper in the store-house of god's love
I want to do what's always true
I want to dig a little deeper in God's love, his love, our love
Each passing hour, oh Lord, I'll walk my path, my Lord
I want to dig a little deeper in the store-house of God's love
Oh Lord, I will dig a little deeper in God's love
Dig a little deeper in God's love
Dig a little deeper in the store-house of his love, oh, lord
Oh Lord, I want to talk more like a Christian should
Walk more like my Jesus would
I want to dig a little deeper in the store-house of God's love
Oh, Lord, I wan' dig a little deeper in God's love
Dig a little deeper in God's love
Dig a little deeper in the store-house of His love, oh, Lord
Oh Lord, I wan' talk more like my Jesus would
Walk more like a Christian should
Dig a little deeper in the store-house of God's love

George younce was getting so fired up. Miss all those great men. "Being absent of the body is to be in the presence of the Lord"
Who wants to dig a little deeper in God's love in 2023 ❤❤❤❤ What a gem of a song❤❤❤❤
My Dad has Alzheimer's but when he hears this, he always smiles and starts patting his hand on something. He was always a fan of this group. He doesn't remember their name anymore but he still enjoys their music. Most importantly, he hasn't forgotten the Lord!
Amen,praise God.
Amazing!
Amen to that
Amen
That proves that God's word in song still has the power over anything!!! God bless you and your Dad!!!
Wow. Look at Younce. You know he's feeling it. I love this
If you've never seen the full video, as they're leaving George gives Dickie Freeman this huge hug smiling the entire time.
The reaction of George Younce in this video is the best! Very excited! Greetings from Brazil.
They really were the funniest reactions to me e prazer meu amigo de USA
Opa, sou brasileiro também. Do interior da Paraíba. Amo o Fairfield Four. Eles têm uma identidade autêntica.
0:21 he enjoyed it before it even began😂
@@littleshadow2707 Amém Bro! Prazer meu!
@@evertonbrazquarteteiro6903 Maravilha Everton! Eles mandam muito bem!
And Jake Hess too. That's what I love about ALL of these folk - they so much appreciate each other's talent, no jealousy, just that honest love of music and hearing others sing about the Lord
The quality of music you just heard here, ladies and gentlemen, is unmatchable. The Fairfield Four was a pearl in American music.
Have they quit singing?
@@johnw2026 no , but all of this group have passed I think , different group now
It wasn’t very pleasant, I’m an audiophile and listening on TH-cam is less quality than base streaming audio, and to hear hifi tracks properly, you need high end headphones and an amp and dac, that being said, they weren’t my cup of tea, I listen to lossless tracks of tons of acapella groups and they sound better than this, there is an overwhelming hiss on this live recording.
Show me movies of lesbians
Leonardo da Silva
Absolutely!
Dickie Freeman and George Younce in the same room, two of the best gospel basses ever to sing the Lords music. Awesome!!!
Just an addendum: all of these wonderful men are now home with the Lord. Willie Richardson (the excitable one that George Younce got such a kick out of) passed a few years after this was recorded. James S. Hill (the spokesman) followed in 2000, then Wilson Waters (in the middle) in 2005, bass extraordinaire Isaac "Dickie" Freeman in 2012 and Robert Hamlett in 2016. We continue to be blessed by their music through these videos, and the Fairfield Four legacy continues with the current lineup, now in their 97th year (founded in 1921) of singing for the Lord.
Amazing history! Thanks for sharing! GOD bless you.
This was the best version of the Fairfield Four. Willie and Dickie had quite the presence.
I'm not a religious person, but I love this so much. These guys sound amazing
You don't hear this kind of heart and soul talent today.
I know you aren’t religious but please take some time to get to know the lord Jesus Christ he will surely change your life if you walk with him I’m praying for you and I know I don’t know you but I love you, I hope you decide to choose him!
@@Josh501stpass.
This is as authentic as a gospel music room gets!
u just don't hear good gospel music like this anymore
to get it like this, as you've said, well... simply put, it takes black soul. And I love it
Sad but true xxx
There is some, but it's extremely rare. These gentlemen are the standard and measure.
That's true
I saw The Fairfield Four about 30 years ago. They were playing at a German restaurant near Boston that occasionally had live music. Nether I or my friends were aware of w ho they were, and i was in a 5 year backsliding period. Seeing them planted the seed that eventually got me right again.
ONE OF THE BEST THE FAIRFIELD FOUR.TIGHT HARMONY ONE OF ALABAMA GREATEST GOSPEL GROUPS, WHAT A BLESSING
National treasures every one of them. Thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening...
George Younce is flipping out on this!
I'll never forget the first time my dad played this song when he got a gospel CD that had it on it. This song has stuck with me forever. I'm so thankful for Jesus. God bless anyone reading this!
Oh my god... there is George .. see how the music got in to his blood and soul... God bless you, where ever you stay now in heaven..
I love watching people sing when it's obvious they love what they're doing!
I love watching George in this video.
Dice89 my thoughts exactly
Me too
Me too
George Younce really killed me when ended up going crazy everytime that bass singer singing and he ended up pointing at the whole group LOL!!!😆😀😄
Ole George was getting ready to let go get jiggy with it. If a person can sit through something like that and not feel something,, well I just don't know. How much More does our God in heaven love to hear us singing praises unto him.
Heather Joines, I agree with you. I LOVE George Younce's reaction. So often I find I enjoy watching people's reactions to the singing as much as the singing itself! I'm so grateful to Bill Gaither for preserving these performances. They're priceless!
this performance was flawless.
I had this on VHS as a kid. My brother and I would rewind and watch the tenor at the end over and over. Does anyone know these members names and when this was recorded?
You don't have to have an ounce of belief to thoroughly enjoy the music's quality and energy. It's beautiful, it's special and very rare.
I develop some goosebumps when I listen to this song God bless u
I've heard a lot of groups sing this song, but I've never heard anyone sing it better than the Fairfield Four!
I've never seen this gospel group before; Oh! My! What Amazing Voices! Loved and enjoyed hearing them.
Unmatched acapella harmony!!! Beautiful & inspiring. Ty FF4.
Now THIS IS MUSIC!!!!!!!!! Good ol soul stirring music that EVERYONE can feel
These are old school g's
To God Be the glory. I'll see them all by the river side.
This never gets old!
I could listen to Issac Dickie Freeman all day everyday!!!!!
Me to all day every day
Oh, my Lord... it is so comforting and good to know that so many of the folk in this video are now home with The Lord. So much beauty there... So much talent that was dedicated in service to The Master. As an old preacher I knew 60 years ago was heard to say, many times,.... "One day, after a while,,, we will be together again,... around the Throne". Amen!
And that's how you do that!!!!! WOW
Pure talent. This may be my 200th time listening.
This is such an awesome group. My nutty buddy introduced their music to me. Music to die for he called it.
Very happily agnostic but every now and again you hear a song that makes you realize why people managed to get convinced in a higher power. because the way well done music affects the brain is *fascinating*
Wowwwwwwwww old Time religion yassssss 🙏🏾 xxx
WOW !.....makes me want to dig deeper in God's Eternal Love.
God has so much for us !! Got to dig deeper
I hope they keep this group going. Real singing here!
In 2021 the current lineup of the Fairfield Four celebrated the groups 100th Anniversary.
God has a way, that’s mighty Sweet!
Stellar singing, and a joy to see people not clapping on one and three 😂
Easily one of the wonders of God's world. I love these guys and this performance is just amazing.
George Younce's reactions are mine
fell in love with my first bass singer when i was bout 9 and never got over that sound. wish I could have met the late J'D. got to meet George several times and his reaction is yep mine too
@@jennifursun3303 never a truer a statement made.
They nailed this!
This is the measure for this song

It just doesn't get any better that that....
I’m shouting with them, hallelujah!
that bassist is like a diesel train!
Yea, dickey (that's his true nickname) is AWESOME.
OOOOH YEAH
That's talent!
I need to dig a little deeper in deed in HIS storehouse. Amen
I miss these guys. And George. And all the others. 😢
You are soulless if this doesn't get you moving.
My parents had this homecoming on video and I loved watching it with them. These are some of the best memories watching these with my parents and grandparents. Music speaks across generations
Also, nice button down shirts, bow ties and sport jackets WITH overalls!!! Classic!!!
It just doesn’t get much better :)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥I love that bass maaaann
Wilson Lit Waters was feeling it towards the end there. He leaned back and was shaking his head. I love his vocals!!! ❤❤❤
OMG absolutely brilliant!!!!!! I couldn't love it more!!!!
I love George Younce's reaction at 4:30/4:31.
I can't get enough of this!!!!! I think 2:30 is the BEST part!!!! Hahaha
I love to hear the Fairfireld Four sing this song, Heavenly!
2020 and still here watching this
My late great uncle Wilson Waters Jr. I miss him soooo much!!!
god bless you.
Thank you.
Sheryl WatersWhat a wonderful artist he was! I'll always remember his talent and graciousness. I have his autograph on a t-shirt. People say to me: who are the Fairfield Four? I give them a link to this video.
Which one is he?
Ginger Bread The one in the middle, that's my moms oldest brother of 15.

I love all music that praise God God increase we decrease
How fun is this!!! 😍
Has anyone other than me ever noticed Goerge Younce's reaction to Issaac Freeman?
Powerful songing
would have loved to have heard the bass singer with J D what an awesome sound that would have been
These guys are awesome. ... but this is reminiscent of the four books in the Hitchhiker's guide trilogy lol.
PRAISE AND HONOR TO THE MOST HIGH FOREVER AND EVER ❤
GREAT SINGING!
I love this. They were amazing.
DIG A LITTLE DEEP DEEP DEEP DEEP DEEP DEEP DEEP DEEPER, HALLELUJAH 🙏🏽
I can't seem to get enough of this song it was well executed by the Fairfield Four..
George Younce is so cute to watch in this.
They are great!!!
My mother-in-law had a huge collection the Gaither tapes. When my son wad about 3, he'd walk in saying "I wanna watch a sing-a-song!" This was the song he was talking about. He'll be 30 this year and still remembers it!
So good Bill Gaither gave the the platform to sing. I see African American singers among them, but I've never heard them sing!!
Jessie Dixon, Larnelle Harris and others have sang and appeared regularly. You just need to watch them more.
Ella Presley Lynda Randle is one of the African-American singers you see among them. Look up her name with the Gaithers here on TH-cam... She's a very talented lady of God! :) And yes, Jessy Dixon was also a very good singer who sang on several Homecoming videos.
+Ella Presley Andrae Crouch, Cece Winans, Wintley Phipps, Angela Primm, Jesse Dixon, Larnelle Harris, Babbie Mason, Doris Akers, and many others have performed on the Gaither videos. Bill Gaither has tried very hard, more than anyone in the Christian music business, to introduce different genres to his audiences. Of course, his base audience and personal roots are Southern Gospel, so naturally he has had more SG artists on his videos. But he's also introduced many contemporary, country and western, black gospel, and bluegrass artists to a completely different fan base, and in many cases to a younger generation that had never heard of some of these performers.
amazing
This is officially my sunday arvo jam. Love Old Soul :)
Folks, in case you don't recognize it now days, that's what it means to get happy in the Lord.
And in case they don't recognize it, that's music!
That is a SHOUTIN Song
Great stuff right here....they don't singem like that anymore!!
i wish they did though......
The four are bad mathematicians but great singers. They should be made national treasures. So. Refreshing. May God bless them.
Now THAT’S music. Would be hard pressed to find the like even is gospel churches today.
These men are awesome
THIS IS A GET HAPPY SONG🎉🎉🎉
I'm a staunch 'non-believer' but holy shit, this gives me goosebumps.
Fantastic vocals
Don't cuss you idiot
I'm ok thanks
Still doesn't matter don't cuss my kids read these comments and I don't like them seeing cussing in the comment
Zachary Farmer Sorry, but I don't write comments thinking whether or not your children will read it.
I write comments to share opinions and ideas. Maybe welcome that instead of calling me an 'idiot'.
Sorry about Zachary :) I am glad you liked it. The bass singer absolutely is killin' it!
Dig a little deeper:)
The bass dude is awesome.
Lester Phinney I couldn't agree more!! Isaac "Dickie" Freeman (born June 20, 1928 in North John's, Alabama, - current population 145) was one of the greatest basses in Gospel music history. He was with the Fairfield Four twice during his long career, leaving in them in 1950 to work with several other quartets like the Skylarks and the Golden Tones. He reunited with the FF for a special appearance in 1980, then stayed with them until his death in Nashville (October 16, 2012) at the age of 84. I can just imagine him in a bass quartet in Glory with JD Sumner, George Younce and James "Big Chief" Wetherington (George would probably have to sing the tenor part in that grouping)! What a moment that would be!!
Its Dave Chappelle
seamus1956 Don’t forget London Parris and George could swing low with the best of them, give rumor mill and The love of the lord a listen.
2021 still watching.... lovely
After the world ends and we lose electricity, this is how people will enjoy music again.
It might bring out the best talent again, if that were to happen. No more autotune.
You better sang late great wl richardson❤️
This is my go to song for cheering up

i think its impossible to listen to this without smiling
may god bless them they are

Fantastic, gentlemen!
It don't get no better than this! Love it!!
