Biking to Work | Car in the Shop for 11 Days!

  • I challenged myself to get along without a car, with only my bike, for eleven days. It wasn't always easy. I was tasked by my day job with creating a video series on my experiences. Am I ready to give my car away? Heck, no. But I learned a lot as a commuter cyclist. And had some fun. #JoyfulTrails #CommuterBike

Man, your videos are funnier than many of today's TV "comedies".

You got acquainted with your bike & you got to see how some people make it to work on a day to day basis. Imagine what the bike messengers do on their bikes for 8 hours? Enjoyed your video as usual. Keep them coming!

Thanks! I shared this in some FB cycling groups and pretty much got roasted... Comments like, "I've gone without a car for years but I don't make a big production out of it." Or, "I moved to Spain and now I don't even own a car." Hey, for me...11 days was A LOT.

Hey Mr Joyful trails I like to introduce myself to you. I am originally from Silicon Valley born and raised currently living in the south end Of Charolette in South Carolina. I also lived for 5 years in the Netherlands until recently coming to Charolette. I grew up road racing on road bikes and actually knew specialized bikes back when they were a couple of guys selling bikes out of a van at all the road races in Silicon Valley. Worked a bike shop when I was young guy for several years. All that said I like to say how I enjoy your TH-cam channel and the way you edit your videos. In this video I completely agree with about the guys in bike groups training for the tour de France on the swamp trail. I have the same problem here in Charlotte on a similar path called the green way. I don’t know what happen to bikers being polite and not “Dominating!”the pathways others share. I think the greenway is not a place for bikers to be grinding down the road in an echelon at 30mph when people are walking dogs with long leashes and mothers with strollers. Also doing this so aggressively. I used to ride 600 miles a week training for road races and I never behaved the way some of those weekend warriors ride today showing off newest cycling jersey and gear they bought. It shocks me about their behavior. Ok enough complaining I like to invite you to watch some of my videos and also invite you if you ever get to Charolette to go for a ride on the greenway trail about 25 miles as they are still working on it. If you need a second camera man or grip guy let me know. I am about your age hiding by your long hair and band days. Message me or leave a comment on one of my videos.

Hey, thanks for watching! Yes, gotta watch out for the speedsters out there. Super-fast racing bikes are especially dangerous to stroller-pushers and dog walkers. Thanks for watching!

You gotta get yourself an e bike, I ditched my old Peugot road bike and got an e bike for my 70th Bday and it's better than Viagra. I don't need someone else to enjoy it.
