I was the first one to get the Air Flight Huaraches back in HS in the 90's. Most people were like "what are those!" I got the retro from a few years ago, not the same but they still make me smile
The huarache basketball shoe “The Fab 5” wore ( dag showing my age 😂) to this day are still one of my favorite basketball shoe Nike has ever put out. But these are a must cop for sure!
Even now, the basketball huaraches are one of my favorite performance shoes to this day. It’s a shoe you can just put on and play in and you’re not gonna complain about anything. It’s that good.
I had the originals in 9th grade. They were one of my faves during high school and I think my most expensive, $90, size 6 (back when kids sizes ended at size 6 and there was no such thing as a "Y" at the end of the size). I was born in 2000 and I got my first pair of huaraches in 2009 when I was only 8, and I always remembered thinking they were a brand new, futuristic shoe, having no idea that the shoe predated me by a decade. That’s how you design a f***ing shoe.
I spent my whole 7th grade summer balling in my 2015 air flight huaraches in the OG Fab Five colorway. For a shoe made in the 90’s, it’s my favorite retro shoe ever to ball in and it might even be one of my favorite ball shoes of all time. First off, they got that retro right. The cushion was great, and the materials were surprisingly high quality. They’re so responsive and low to the ground, the traction could stop on a dime,the full length AIR was soooo nice and the phylon was so plush. The outsole was thick and wide and came up on the side a bit in the forefoot on the lateral side to help stop you from rolling over the foot bed in the forefoot Bc the softer foam. The lockdown is great if you get the right size and the basketball huaraches actually fit better than the runners. Also a great wide footer shoe and they still look great.
I wore a pair of black high top huaraches while playing high school basketball back in 1992. Loved playing in them. Was a big fan of the Michigan Fab 5.

100% facts. One of the most comfortable Nikes on foot. Gonna need more colorways of this too. I hated that for a while, it only came in triple red/white/black.
My dad managed a sporting goods store in a small Washington town, so I got to see all the Nikes when they came out. The Hurrache was the first Nike’s I can remember him rocking.
I must not work at a shoe store often enough anymore, because everytime I realize that Huarache's aren't in stock in store like they use to be, I'm kinda shocked.

This is the sneaker I have used the most (in the all white colourway). I've used them for running I've used them for the gym I've used them for dancing No joke. By far one of the most well rounded sneakers ever. And I didn't have to buy thousands of pairs, they are just built to last and they really do. Seeing this reminded me that I probably need a new pair (my last pair got stolen🤦🏾♂️😂)
Hey Guys! How are you? I’ve been busy haven’t gotten a chance to check out the channel in awhile. So they bringing these back again, AWESOME 👏. I remember a few years ago they came out with every single in solid White/with a list of bright colors I want to say those were all the OG colors I missed out on them. Only got a chance to get the this Dark Purple/Mustard/Black color. They were nice but I definitely was bummed out that I couldn’t get them. To be honest and I’ve probably mentioned this before but my era of sneakers would be 1987-1993/94 anything from Adidas, Puma, Nike, Jordan, New Balance etc.(1982 for the Nike Air Force 1) Watching this channel gave me more of understanding and appreciation of sneakers from the mid 90’s 2000’s. To me almost sneakers in the mid-90’s looked like the Nike Air More Max Uptempo 95 a real bulky look to them which I wasn’t feeling. But watching Chris break down the shoes history and putting up pictures of eastbay made me reconsider certain Nikes and Jordan’s. FOREVER APPRECIATE this CHANNEL for that!!! You can tell he genuinely cares about the quality of the releases and how they compare to prior retros!!!! These Huraches a must have FOR SURE, AS ALWAYS THANK YOU 🙏

Had a pair of these in the 90s. Incredibly comfortable and light. I think Nike succumbed to the trend started by Asics about duel density soles to assist with over pronation and consequently started copying Asics (e.g. Air Elite). I tried several pairs of Asics (including Kayano) but they never did much for me. I eventually went back to Nike, but they'd discontinued the Huaraches. The closest they had were the Lunarglides (which weren't bad). I'm not surprised the Huaraches have been re-released. It would have been great if Nike had evolved the Huaraches like they have the Pegasus. I won't buy the Huaraches (in their present form) now, as they represent 20th-century (albeit excellent) technology.
I am a Huarache collector - Have yet to meet anyone else who collected these. Super excited that you reviewed these. side note: The Huarache Logo, to this day, one of the coolest designs logos Nike ever created.
I have that OG color way of the retro Nike huarache basketball that came out in 2014, I’ve had them since then and I still love them. Leather quality is plush and the comfort is great. Plus that color way is a classic. Fits true to size. Recommend to anyone.
The Huarache Trainers are my favorite sneakers of all time.. The 2004 Midnight Navy/ Varsity Maize Huarache Trainers are my all time grails. I need them back in my life. lol.
I just got my first pair of huaraches from the outlets for $60 and I can't believe how comfortable they are for being a 30 year old design in a way they're almost more comfortable than boost
Absolutely amazing shoe. NOW I realise what NIGHTWING means when he complains about the cushioning not feeling like the OG. After 2 weeks of wearing these, I'd rate them more comfortable then the NIKE REACT INFINITY RUN. Can't stress enough how amazing the shoe it, and at A$170 dayumm!!

To fill out the back part of the shoe like ole girl mention you have to wear them for a week around the house. When you sit down just have your toes pointing up while your heels are on the ground. After a week the back part should fill out and fit just right.
There is zero hype around Huaraches but yes, of course they’ll sell out so resellers can make their small pocket change after fees. Also, I didn’t know that was the og tongue badge, thought the rubber Huarache logo was- everyday’s a school day 👍🏼
Replace that midsole with a react and use cushlon in the back for stability hollowed out with react in the base and to top it off add the full length air. Need nike to do this asap on these
I have a pair of the Purple and Black Huarache QS with the pullout box and the Have you Hugged your Foot today pin that came out a couple years ago, these basically look identical to those just in this different colorway, and if that leather is anything like the ones I have, and they look like they are, its super soft and buttery leather. Ppl always ask me what the alternate logo is on the tongue and i tell them its the OG. Also its the most all around comfortable shoe I have, heel squish, forefoot squish, hard to believe how old this shoe is.
Man when those first came out I wanted them so bad and my mom would not get them for me and by the time I mowed enough lawns they didn't have my size. And I've never picked up any retros... But those are still fire to me. Maybe I should rectify my lack of possession of those. Lol
One of my most favorite shoes (like Kanye says) "OF ALL TIME!!!" Probably not coincidentally, my favorite pair of Huaraches that I own are in the "Blink" colorway I really hope they bring back either the McFly/Mag colorway, and/or the Nike By You (Nike ID, darnit!)
Edit: I left the previous comment before I got to the end of the video . I would say, if you've never tried these on before, go try them on! I say that because I'm a wide footer and a flat footer but, I love true to size on these generally speaking. Now this re-crafted version might be a little different. So if you can try them on.
I agree with your wife. I ordered two pairs, I went a half size up and still..my big toe hits the toe box, I like the snug feel but the length is not as comfortable. I should’ve went a full size up. I’m gonna keep them since it’s not dramatic hopefully they’ll break in.. I suggest for people to go one size up
Hey. Did they eventually break in? I got one in a full size up and after wearing them once all day my toes were hurting. I’ll keep wearing them hoping they break in 😅
@@DaveCordova no! I returned one and got my money back, the other pair I gifted to my girlfriend. I then ordered two more pairs full size up, one of them feels amazing and perfect but the other somehow killed the pinky toes, I think the material inside, is this hard cardboard material, these are considered “premium material” those I’m going to wear to go out to the store and stuff. And FYI I have very narrow feet! These sneakers are not meant for any foot that’s wide. You always need to go one size up on these no matter what..

@@oykesenorabayu7239 yes I end up returning both pairs and got full size up and they fit perfect and so comfortable. Just be careful with premium versions since some of the upper is made out of this hard cardboard material and that can hurt your toes while doing a lot of walking. Just get regular ones with the soft material.

I really hope they bring back either the McFly/Mag colorway, and/or the Nike By You (Nike ID, darnit!)
my dad told me to try these in on saying they’re the most comfortable shoe and they were i got them that year
Bought my fist pair of prestos last week and those things are comfortable as well.
Love the huarache for comfort.. the original reminds me of the toy story little aliens type of colorway.

I would say, if you've never tried these on before, go try them on! I say that because I'm a wide footer and a flat footer but, I love true to size on these generally speaking. Now this re-crafted version might be a little different. So if you can try them on.

I agree with your wife. I ordered two pairs, I went a half size up and still..my big toe hits the toe box, I like the snug feel but the length is not as comfortable. I should’ve went a full size up. I’m gonna keep them since it’s not dramatic hopefully they’ll break in.. I suggest for people to go one size up
Hey. Did they eventually break in? I got one in a full size up and after wearing them once all day my toes were hurting. I’ll keep wearing them hoping they break in 😅
@@DaveCordova no! I returned one and got my money back, the other pair I gifted to my girlfriend. I then ordered two more pairs full size up, one of them feels amazing and perfect but the other somehow killed the pinky toes, I think the material inside, is this hard cardboard material, these are considered “premium material” those I’m going to wear to go out to the store and stuff. And FYI I have very narrow feet! These sneakers are not meant for any foot that’s wide. You always need to go one size up on these no matter what..

@@oykesenorabayu7239 yes I end up returning both pairs and got full size up and they fit perfect and so comfortable. Just be careful with premium versions since some of the upper is made out of this hard cardboard material and that can hurt your toes while doing a lot of walking. Just get regular ones with the soft material.
