I think old polars are quite underrated , have 3 of them in our grandparents house. They got those fans brand new in the late 80s. Its never seen an electrician or mechanic till date and works well without any problem , although my grandparents don't put on the fans very often as i myself do
I have always wondered about this fan, except I knew it was a Polar. I have seen many of these fans in my childhood, mostly in shops but in some residences too. I still see them occasionally, usually in semi modern shops. The other hub design fans I see are age old, usually from the '40s or '50s. I wonder why polar or the others don't make such fans anymore, maybe due to higher manufacturing costs? Thank you for showing us the internals of this fan. The design of this fan looks quite clever and unique.
The 40's,50's are DC fans that u are talking about. Yes this fan looks like a DC fan but in reality it's table fan technology AC fan of late 80's -90's
@@SOURADEEPBISWAS I don't know if those old hub type fans I saw were dc or not since they were in the same room with other newer fans. I don't know if they had a separate dc supply. I saw a few of them in an old school and some (different model) in a sweet shop.
@@techexplorer9312 for dc there is no dc supply. There is a FBR(full bridge rectifier) to convert the a.c. input into d.c. to run the fan. And they don't use any kind of capacitor. It's completely different from bldc and modern fans.
@@SOURADEEPBISWAS It's called an internal rotor. Most ceiling fans use an external rotor which is attached to the outer shell. The outer rotor motors are usually thinner and lighter.
Rare to see such construction nowadays, Nostalgic 😇
