    Thanks a lot for explaining importance of Pilot drain line.

    Why do we assign specific velocities to pressure, return and suction line of a hydraulic system? I didn't understand how efficiency is increased. can you hrlp me understand?

    Nice video and explanation, as usual, but this time I have a doubt. When you describe the areas of the main spool of the valve, you say that the annular (bottom) area help to move down the spool. For me this annular (bottom) area does not affect the spool, because on the upper part of the spool there is the same annular area, so these two are canceled. Either way the spool have to move down because the effect of the others. Greetings

      That's true. Good observation. Thanks for pointing out that one detail. We'll produce an edited version at some point.

    Hi , hope you are good. Wanted to know your views on Pressure reducing valves. When I checked, seems that they all have internal leakage through their pilot line. I mean , for a pressure reducing valve to work , the pilot line must drain oil to tank.
    So if any pressure reducing valve is connected to an accumulator, it will drain the accumulator till the preset pressure is reached and pilot drain flow will stop !
    Am I right? Can pressure reducing valves be used with accumulators? For example, can we have a 3 way pressure reducing valve without internal leakage?
    Do we have any models of 3 way pressure reducing valves without leakage?
    Does leakage happen when valve is off ?
    For e.g suppose I have a 3 way proportional pressure reducing valve; when valve is off , output pressure is zero. If this valve is connected to an accumulator, will it drain all accumulator oil little by little? Will leakage occur when valve is off ?
    Thanks.
    Kind Regards.

    How to test a pressure reducing I cartridge valve? I have a tractor thats giving me a fit.
    It has the parking brake valve with 2 electric solenoids back 2 back on the same valve stem. The first solenoid activates all the machine functions, the second deactivates the drive functions but still allows the boom and attachment to function.
    Beside that valve it has the PRS valve.
    My problem is when you turn the park brake off to have all functions everything works but very slow and weak, pressure only goes up to about 1000.
    But when you activate the brake the other solenoid takes over and the boom function works perfect pressure goes to 2500 psi
    Its a jcb skid steer.

    What's the difference between pressure reducing and pressure relief valves?

    • @lunchboxsessions
      @lunchboxsessions  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One way to describe the difference is that relief valves limit the maximum pressure on the inlet side of the valve (note the dashed sensing/piloting line on valve inlet) where reducing valves limit the maximum pressure on the outlet side of the valve (note the dashed sensing/piloting line on the valve outlet). - Carl

    CAN YOU SHARE TROUBLESHOOTING OF FACED PROBLEM AS WHEN PRESSURE REGULATE AND SET AT 1200PSI AFTER SOME TIME IT START FLUCTUATE AUTOMATIC +/- 400 FROM SET VALUE WHAT CAUSE IT HAPPEN ANY ONE CORRECT SOLUTION SHARE WITH ME.

    Can pressure reducing valve allow reverse flow when pilot line is pressurised ?

    • @paulh5049
      @paulh5049 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, because if pressure in the pilot line were to increase beyond system pressure, the valve would close, preventing flow.

    Is this possible if I change the pressure to 70 bar will the doble pilot operated chcek vavle will work when strokeing cilinder outboard. drive.google.com/file/d/0B4QsoeucDE7KbW9PenRWNlRPZ2s/view?usp=sharing
