Spanish Kaigainiki adopted her a couple of years ago she took to learning Spanish shortly afterwards, she already knew some English but her English fanbase has always been consistently growing, I'm so happy to see her succeed! 💜💜

ray already has more than 100k subs, wouldn't call her small but she's quite niche and not in mainstream side for sure
Pippa is extremely wholesome with her raids. I remember when she raided Nenkan Alice she was almost in tears because she kept saying how much she looked up to Pippa. It's funny that Pippa got her reputation as the yab rabbit when she's probably the most wholesome and sweetest vtuber on the scene. I think a big reason why Phase is successful at all is because Pippa never pulled the ladder up behind her when she started to succeed.

Besides cursed knowledge she mostly gets the yabbit title from voicing opinions that aren't very PC, generally speaking people who aren't PC are often pretty decent folks.

Honestly, I was letting Pippa's stream play in the background while I was doing house chores so I wasn't paying attention. Imagine my surprise when the stream redirected to Otsuka Ray's. 100 wholesome, didn't know Pippa had it in her.
If there is one thing I've come to learn about Pippa, regardless of what wacko episode brought her to your attention, she will surprise you with her wholesome side.
May take a bit to see it, but it always shines through at some point, if you take the time to watch and listen to her. 😊

Even as someone who's probably on the opposite side to Pippa's views on many issue's, having mostly come from the online politics and breadtuber communities, I'll always unashamedly defend her character. She's gone through some shit and not had an easy life, but the evidence is overwhelming that she is fundamentally a compassionate and loving person who values the well-being of others.
I'm glad I didn't prejudice my views of her before taking time to get to know what she's actually like. Seeing her mostly subtle acts of kindness is so refreshing as is her attitude overall tbh.

@gcm22490 Whenever I hear a vtuber cycle through languages so quickly, I tend to associate it with Southeast Asia, probably thanks to Hololive ID. The Spanish just made me think Phillipines.
@@onionhat745 we never used the Spanish language for at least a hundred years, friend. 👍 either you took Spanish education or you’re about a hundred years old, general census of Filipinos wouldn’t be able to speak Spanish unless again, you went out your way to learn it, or maybe work in Spain.
If I remember correctly, she has also been receiving the attention of the Spanish-speaking community. So I guess she initially thought that she was being raided by spanish viewers.
Positioning yourself as a single mother vtuber on the internet feels a little too exploitative, imho.
Like vtubers are already womans and by itself tends to evoke the need to protect from man. But this stuff is overkill.
There are plenty of VTubers who are mothers on TH-cam, too. They all have in some degree admitted to either tucking their children to sleep or keeping quiet so as to not surprise then.
Though if I have to be very meta about the circle of life, I have to quote Rare Earth in his recent video, "I want you to slander this cat:"

In this regard, the thin line between supporting someone and deifying them into celebrities (and the consequences of an equal and opposite reaction to conflating support for individuals as "celebrating celebrities") can be very, very thin, with what not the democratization of content creation tools only possessed by tradesmen and fat cat executives in Tinseltown.

she's just open about her status and how her back story is sad. she didn't exploit her status but people know it already because, well internet. there's plenty vtuber who are mother and open about it, there's also vtubers (even big corpa vtuber) already married but keep it secret. she told her viewers that she has daughter is already risky in business perspective because vtubers who are known married or have child tend to lost big portion of their potential viewers because they will lose parasocial viewers, but ray is fine to tell her viewers and her viewers didn't mind it

The vtuber in question have an additional piece of media in a way of an avatar that represents HER CHILD on a screen most of the time. It's not about someone like Iron mouse who has some sort of immune disease (btw her avatar isn' in a safety bubble or in a wheelchair etc) or any other content creator in a difficult life situation.
Also Girlfriend experience streamers is another topic, but it can be used as an example of the extent the positioning of yourself and IRL facts can affect you career.
You can try to understand it like this. What if Pippa had something like "i'm in derpression, i have poor health, falling out teeth, and i wanted to minecraft myself unitl recently" written on her stream all the time. Would it affect her and the viewers in some way?
