- The adventure continues.. This time we’re in Leicester for the community shield game between Liverpool and Manchester City! It would be the first of probably many games between these two this season!
The game wouldn’t start off well for City as Liverpool really attacked with a lot of intent and a switch from Thiago found Salah who set up Trent Alexander Arnold to beautifully convert a curling shot into the net. The kiss of the post gave Ederson no chance of stopping it.
City would be positive before half time, with Mahrez having 2 chances both saved by Adrian. Haaland would also come close for the Blues!
City would play and start the second half well and eventually Alvarez the substitute would convert after Foden shot was mistakenly palmed out by Adrian. After a long check from VAR the goal would stand!
The game would then take a turn for the worse for City after a clear penalty which was decided by Var was awarded and Salah would convert it!
Nunez would then come on and score as he got in front of the city defense to convert past Ederson to send the Liverpool fans and himself wild!
Liverpool played very well and deserved to win the game. It’s a learning curve for city who will for sure come back stronger going into the premier league season!
