I'm one of those Rich Roll Podcast fans who is very "hit and miss" or "pick and choose" with the regular interview episodes, but I listen to every minute of every Roll On. I miss it when it's gone, and I love the banter and catch ups on the wives and kids and sports friends. The callbacks to characters mentioned before are like Easter Eggs for the hard-core fans. As others have said, I've loved the current format, but I'll give the new one a try and trust in your wisdom to revert if it doesn't work for the audience. Surely this current format isn't for everyone, but it is (was) for me.

Rich and Adam. Not once have I ever felt your conversations have wasted my time. I very much enjoy what both of you bring to the table. On your own, as well as friends, business partners. Every Roll On opens my mind, gives me an opportunity to learn and to see another facet of humanity. I would not change anything. Please continue to share, evolve, and laugh. I promise to do the same. 🙋‍♀️🎉👏🏻❣️

I absolutely love these episodes and format as it is. With that said, I am a trusting fan and will follow the creative evolution you both have in mind that is most exciting to you's. I think it's important for artists to experiment, iterate, and take some chances. Many artists fear the fan base won't follow, so they can get stuck and feel pigeonholed. I am confident I am one of many engaged fans happy to tune in and see where this all goes. Keep up the great work guys!!

Long time listener here, who loves everything you do. I love the variety of guests you have on the show and topics covered. Roll On has been a very fun and often very off topic banter that is just very organic and shows the true cohesion between you two. I trust the process and accept change, with that being said one thing I would suggest is "the monthly RRP success story". What I mean by that would be that once a month when you have your Roll On episode you can highlight and have a quick phone interview with a listener who is thriving thanks to your show. I know there are many who have changed their lives for the better and helped others do the same, like myself, thanks to what you do. Highlighting them would be great to show what you can do and become. Keep up the great work and a sincere thanks for saving me and opening my eyes. -Mark

I am in Norfolk UK - I love your podcasts, they are authentic, informative and soulful. I would like you to continue with your warm and friendly and honest sharing. I would also like them to be hopeful so for example bring environmental topics that inform us all on how we can be part of all our solutions. I am 70 and all I hear is people worrying about the world we are leaving to the young but I question that we all should be doing more to create a better world NOW. I can still do a lot but don't always know best ways to exert my energy.

I listen to about every other episode, but I've never missed an episode of Roll On. Love the freewheeling nature of the conversations.

  • @mightbefire
    @mightbefire ปีที่แล้ว

Why do I love Roll On more than other podcast? It's always current (vs some episodes that were recorded months earlier.) And it's personal - we get to be part of Adam and Rich's conversations, even for someone like myself that doesn't even care about competitive naturing/endurance sports.
I think it's hard for Rich to realize that many people would love to just connect to the more personal elements of his life. I get it, it doesn't seem like enough, but it is - there is absolutely value! Mel Robbins does it with great success. She just jumps on the mic, talks about universal human struggles, and then makes sure to add researched elements to back up her discussion. It's exactly what you guys did with the AMA question about habit vs addiction. Universal questions and discussions/answers.

Glad to see Roll On back. RRP is one of the only podcasts that I look forward to and Roll-On in particular, is a "never miss". It's exciting to see the Roll-On episode show up in my feed and I ensure that I carve out time to listen in one session.
The banter always makes me smile and sometimes laugh out loud. In general, the topics I particularly enjoy and hope are carried into the new format are:
    - training discussions and certainly would be interested to hear what "hacks" you're both working into your individual routines and/or what hasn't worked for you lately. Discussions around injury(ies) are also helpful
    - where you're both currently at with a regular "meditation" and / or "yoga" practice
    - discussions around mental health and working through "stuff"
    - streaming and book recommendations + any other things that caught your eye in the past while
I look forward to the new format. Thanks for being vulnerable and putting yourselves out there.
    Much ❤

I really love the current format and the very genuine conversation you guys have so I am happy that is staying at least once per month. I like the format as it is. I don't think this needs to be overly scripted or creatively curated. I like the unscripted, natural vibe that it has today. I also like longer episodes. So greater than 2 hours would be great! Not sure I like the audio magazine idea....I'll give it a try, but my favorite podcasts are the kind that are just a conversation, unscripted, so I guess not very creative or overly produced.

Love the banter, my thoughts on departments I would be interested in hear you guys explore in whatever format you find creative:
-Various athletic pursuits humans are doing that are interesting to ponder, like the free diving, or athletes with physical challenges etc…
    -Book recommendations are always appreciated
-Environmental segment especially if it has a positive spin. Emphasis on food/environmental topics based on science. Soil and water education.
-interesting, under appreciated human story about a person in the world some where that in some small way would make us feel better about the world because they are in it.
-parenting is always interesting especially since like diets everyone has an opinion, and know one seems to have figured it out. Even if you don’t have kids, you were “parented”, and you will be sharing the world with the new generations.
In general, Adam has a great sense of finding stories that are worth hearing about. Rich has the gift of asking great questions and putting those stories in perspective.

Hi guys. I love the RRP. It’s been a huge part of my life. Healing, helpful, inspirational, aspirational and so much more. I never miss a show. I also love the Roll On format. It’s a great departure from all the seriousness in the rest of life. The banter, the humor, the insight. I love it. I hope you don’t change it, but I also trust your instincts to change it if you feel the urge. Love you guys. Thanks for all you do. Truly mean it when I say it’s improved my life in ways I never imagined.

Gotta say, I love the current format as it is. I think there's a pressure within these spaces to optimize and "cut the fat." Honestly what I love most about Roll On is the banter, the back and forth and the unpolished approach. It's appealing in this Era of slick, scripted media landscape. I'm a guy in my late 30's. Listening to the current form of Roll On is like hanging out and catching up with my funny, cool and more experienced friends who are able to share insights and help inspire me. As long as some of that remains, I'll be happy! As others have said - the best artists evolve over time, and follow their intuition rather than public sentiment. As long as this change is driven by that voice, it's going to be amazing.

Ideas for roll on for 2023: a lot of talk in the show is around ultra/endurance races and other sweet events that take place in the US and other developed countries. As someone from the developing world (South Africa), I believe there are some incredible events, races and stories from the global south that could be explored in greater detail. My proposal to you is to use each episode to take a deep diver into a particular country and explore some of the sweet events and races that, no doubt, take place there. This may bring in a great audience and, more importantly, would expand the reach/focus of the show to beyond the developed world.
Big fan of the show. Keep it up

I truly enjoy the fact that you both just chat with each other like friends. It has a feeling as if spying a 2 friends having a conversation on the phone. It's real, authentic, relatable and makes me feel as if I'm the third friend, can laugh along and have my own opinions along the way. So I like that format a lot. There are lot of podcasts out there and most of them really try to deliver a point. So it's good to have something fresh in between that doesn't necessarily try to do it, but does it in it's own natural way when two interesting people share their thoughts and experiences. I like it a lot, I hope you keep that as well while exploring some news creative ways.

An idea for the Roll On format: A few years ago, you were particularly concerned about the plight of women in Afghanistan. Furthermore, I think there were other subjects that you were passionate about at the time it was popular (gun control, Black Lives Matter, etc.). Perhaps, you could revisit some of these subjects, let your listeners know what changes, good or bad, have occurred; and suggest ways to continue helping these causes. To insure they continue to be important and not just forgotten.

I love the current format and would not change it! That's the great thing about it - it's different from an interview which. you & most podcasts do already. The only thing I don't love are the listener questions as it feels to "Dr Drew-ish" to me. But love just hearing you two banter about different athletic events, athletic feats/records, current events & even books, movies, etc! Don't go changing!

Love the idea of an audio magazine. As for regular content sections, I’d love to hear about fitness/health while parenting. I know Adam and Rich are doing it and may have wisdom/good stories to share. I have a 1.5 year old and a second on the way!!! Also did my first 50k last year and want to keep the progress while being a good father/husband. As always, would love a sprinkling of positive masculinity on this topic as well. It is needed!

Love you guys. Love Roll On.
I have one idea for a segment that I think you guys would rock. "Charity corner": You each pick a charity/worthwhile endeavour that someone is doing to help fix a problem somewhere in the world. Maybe someone is doing an amazing athletic challenge to raise money to improve sanitation in the 3rd world somewhere or maybe it's just a charity that touches your heart. Then you share with your audience the link to donate.
Not just making people the better version of themselves but also helping the world heal itself.
Then over time you can maybe get feedback from the charity/fundraising about any significant positive impact that we had and relay it back to the audience. x

Though one thing: It was better when you played actual question clips rather than summarising them. Just pick one and say that there are others like that, too.

Would love to hear you talk with Danny Elfman. I love Roll On - sometimes your banter is just the gentle ticket. The only complaint is that sometimes you both talk at the same time and when that happens - I can't understand either of you. That is hard on the listener. But other than that - love this podcast and hope you don't stop.

Well, my heart just sank hearing about the format change. You asked for suggestions of what we'd like to hear, but it sounds like you're not even sure what the format will look like, and I certainly have nothing to say on that. I LOVE THE CURRENT FORMAT. Like Rich said, there's lots of content out there and there are already plenty of polished, highly produced podcasts that are like audio magazines. After 12 years of listening to podcasts (this one and many others) I've reached the saturation point and am listening less. The one thing I listen to without fail is Roll On. I like it just the way it is, banter and everything else; sure there's always room for improvement, but why a whole new format? Have you gotten a sense that people don't like Roll On? To wrap this up, I'll say, you seem very vague on what you want to do with the new format, which makes me think, if it's not broke, why are you fixing it. And did I hear you right, it will only be once a month? I really don't get why you're changing things. ☹

as you are asking: i watch breaking points. i also watch counter points, which is the breaking points hosts handing the show over to 2 other people who do what they do, just a bit differently. i would value a regular Adam hosting show, without saying much about topics, as i am guessing he can handle that. so roll on plus one other. Adam On. Roll on Adam. Adam Rolls Too. (need more coffee)

Rich! Less Roll on?! Hot Lord, please ,no! Nah, I get it. Regarding being more intentional with guests...Why not get someone who's deep in the process of transformation on? In the much and the mess. And maybe even someone who you're already interested in having a conversation with. It could be a mentor moment, or at least an opportunity to see who learns from whom. Love you two. Welcome back, Mr. Rapport guy. Sorry about the loss of your coach, too, Rich.

I really enjoy your podcasts. They are entertaining and helpful. I appreciate a lot of what you say here, but realistically - some of the therapies you mention and access to them if only financially - are out of reach for some folks. Sure, life is about choices. I think you get what I mean. I might choose to not be able to afford some of the things and places you talked about. Some people just can't afford. It's not like you worked harder than all those folks. Maybe some. It's maybe a different perspective to look at. How do those folks achieve access to those places, or at least the quality of treatment they currently can't afford? Therapy and healing should not be an income based thing. Thanks for all you do!

I’ve watched this movie almost a dozen times. I never bore of it. Intellectual, intriguing, and of course a bit humorous. Love the dynamic, although brief, among Michael and his brothers. Especially the police officer brother. Very good chemistry between those two.
BEST scene ever when Tilda sees Michael alive. The facial expression and shaking was and will always be monument acting. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
