When I was younger I had no idea that Mills Watson played Harry on Up in Smoke, he didn’t have a mustache and his voice was way higher pitched! Amazing actor!
I don't know if it was Fred Silverman or the series creator Glen Larson who made this horrendous decision, but they fixed what wasn't broken. The show was better in Orly County, despite being an imitation of the Dukes of Hazzard. They also ruined the last season of BI and the Bear by having BJ settle down in California, start a trucking business, and we got the 7 lady truckers, and Rutherford T Grant.
Same thing with The Hardy Boys, drop Nancy Drew off the show, and the Second season of Buck Rogers was a mess, turned Wilma from a strong commanding officer into a damsel in distress.
Someone should make the whole uncut version of the theme song available... it exists somewhere.. The first season was the best one.. second season was a poor remake of "McCloud'.. they did the same shitty retooling of "B.J. and the Bear", and "Buck Rogers" in their second seasons. Coincidentally, all three shows debuted and ended at the same time.
"BJ And The Bear" premiered in the 1978-1979 TV season, "Buck Rogers" was a ripoff of "Battlestar Galactica", and season one of "Lobo" was a ripoff of "The Dukes Of Hazzard" while season two was a ripoff of "Enos"!
@@everydayamputee When I was a kid, I had no idea that he played Harry in Cheech and Chong’s Up in Smoke! So cool! Especially that his voice is way different and he’s clean shaven! Lol
Sheriff Lobo was retooled. It really didn't need retooling whatsoever. The only thing good about this retooled version was the Theme Song. I liked the first season better.
Really didn't make any sense to move the characters to Atlanta. The appeal of the series was essentially it was Smokey minus the Bandit. In Atlanta, he's just another corrupt fool who makes good. Sorta.

Fred Silverman didn't make many mistakes in his career but moving Lobo to Atlanta was one of them.
It certainly was a huge mistake.

His biggest one was cancelling _Hollywood Squares_.

Only good thing, Georgia on my mind intro
RIP Sheriff Lobo aka Claude Akins who died in 1994 at the age of 67.
I like this fast paced singing of “Georgia”; the show should have stayed on longer.
I wish I could this fast version of Georgia by Ray Charles

I like Sheriff Lobo in Orly, not in Atlanta. I liked most the first season.
Mills Watsons timing was always great.
Yes😊

Who sings the theme of this series?
Sing Ray

This is why Jimmy Carter lost in 80.
Bless your Heart.
Ray Charles
I like this fast version of Georgia theme. Claude Akins too was born in Georgia.
The first season of Sheriff Lobo was good, but this second season was horrible. NO wonder it got the axe.
They were both ripoffs of "The Dukes Of Hazzard" and its' spinoff series "Enos"!
Claude Akins was a better trucker than sherriff.
Yes, he was.
Movin' On
I never saw this. If I had I would have turned it off. I know garbage when I see it.

I wish I could find this version on a soundtrack that I can’t
