- So you got an algea eater, it can be any type of pleco: common pleco, plecostomus, bristlenose pleco, ....and they doing a great job getting rid of your brown algae or green algae.
So, do you think you need to feed them....?

I have a pleco he’s about 5 years old and he’s the size of my fore arm and he’s never needed extra Algae even when he was the only fish in the tank at one point,
Probably your tank produces enough algae and it got enough fish food leftovers

Cucumbers are the best for plecos. They also provide alot of vitamins
They also eat watermelon and tomatoes.

Had a 12 incher that died of starvation. They are bottom feeders and if you have other fish that tend to get into a feeding frenzy there will be nothing left for the pleco.

my pleco is like a robot, it`s still alive but it dose not eat alge.But I still love it.
When they get big, they hardly eat algae and prefer commercial food instead..
I rotate on bug bites algae crisps hikari waffers cucumber and spinach and of course have wood in the aquarium

It's hard to tell in common pleco...Generally females are rounder.
My bristlesnose plecos love canned green beans thay get once a week amongst everything else in between

@@UriShasha i have a medium sized red cap oranda and a comet goldfish in a 20 gallon tank.. red cap is slow swimmer and comet goldfish is fast swimmer.. but i help the red cap to get food without the goldfish stealing it.. .. so is it fine?? people day dont keep slow swimmers with fast swimmers.. but i help the slow swimmer get food.. do yea? it is ok Thid way right? also they became good friends
They grow as big as 2 feet n really fat i had one jaguar blackish brown color n killed all my other fish by breaking their spine when he broke them in half by suckion .there predators that keeo an area clean to attract prey. Are also shy prob as shy as piranhas.

i just got myself a pleco and have tried to feed it lettuce and it dosent eat it and the lettuce floats to the top what other foods can it eat while i wait for the bottom feeder tablets

Help, I recently got a clown pleco about 3 or 4 days ago. It has not aten anything I put in there, first I put some algae wafers and it did not touch them. Then I tried cucumbers and it didn’t eat them at all. How do I get him to eat?
If it is healthy it will eat eventually, it sounds like it needs more time to acclimate. Try to feed it at night after turning off the lights

My plecos always stays outside my sponge filter. Are they eating dirts from sponge filter?!
I doubt it. They like to hide so it uses this as a cave
I had two plecos 5 hours ago, by the time i went to the petstore to get some angel fish, one of them past away and I do not know why. I threw a couple of pelets for them monday and also this morning. I was and still am devastated. I'm new to this hobby, thus I dont know why this happened and I dont want this to happen to my other one. Could anyone help?

2 black/white baby angel fish
3 golden honey gouramis
1 beta
4 cory cats

It depends if there is algae in the tank that it can eat or fish food leftovers...to be on the safe size I feed it twice a week.

my pleco was in a tank of a jack dempsey cichlid and another kind of fish and i went to check on them and i foumd my pleco dead with his eyes gone and part of his mouth. do you know what caused its death
Probably it was killed by the cichlids. Jack dempsey is very aggressive fish

Please test your water...I think they get sick and die. Also, are you using water conditioner? The bleeding you see might br s chlorine burn....

My tank has a lot of rocks and large pebbles on the bottom and when I try to feed my pelco it usually swims away from its food and I’ve never seen it be able to find it and eat the tablet. Any suggestions? The tablets I feed it look like half the size of the ones in video, should I get larger tablets?
Also I don’t think my pelco even eats the type of algae that grows in my tank, I’d like to keep regardless but I don’t know what it eats now

How is your pleco now?? Mine is shy and loves hiding in the river rocks. We rarely ever see him. The rare times we do see him tho, he has the coolest eyes!!!

There are sinking carnivore pellets or bottom dwellers food specifically for type of plecos which need meat-based foods. Also, you can use live or frozen mussels and shrimps

I have 1 pleco in my aquarium and I bought it on pet store he's been on tank for over 1 years and half and I didn't even feed him algae and how the fk did he grew up so big without eating algae or healthy fruits I beleive that he eats my fish's poop

No problem to feed it with cucumber. Actually it is very good for them. Just make sure to peel it first and remove the cucumber leftovers after few hours
