I solved it in 45 seconds in my head so your claim seems to have merit. But wait, I could be a super genius. You just haven't understood that geniuses are common, circa 50% of the population. The bar isn't getting lower, we're all evolving into geniuses, some of us into super geniuses.

As everyone else seems to have pointed out already, this puzzle wasn't very difficult. But it was really fun!
Well, these kind of puzzles are designed to make people feel good about themselves while having fun with maths or logic. So I don't think it's that bad that they are presented as "genius level problems" even if they often are actually quite elementary. Giving positive experiences about a subject that many people hated in school is good.

052? You only need the first 3. By the first two, 6 cannot be correct. By the third, 2 and 0 are both correct. By the first, 2 is last, therefore 0 must be 1st since it can’t be second. By the second, 5 is the only remaining one that can be in the second position. We never needed the last two.

Kind of, for me my brain just automatically sorted the numbers into their positions and eliminated most of the other possible combinations instantly. But anyone can do that, practise makes perfect as they say

With 6 out, combination three already gives us 2 and 0 as correct numbers which also means 8 is wrong
Now that we know that 2 and 0 are correct and that 2 is the third number, 0 should be first. If 2 is third, that means 5 has to be second.
Therefore the last two combinations are not needed.

0:35 "682" and "645" tell you that 6 isn't part of it, exactly one of {2,8} is in the correct position, and one of {4,5} is in it.
"206" - since 6 isn't part of it, {0,2} both are. So 2 was in the correct position before: "xx2". Now 0 has only one possible position, so "0x2".
I think at this point, the idea was that you still need to settle the {4,5} choice? But we don't need another clue. We know that whatever is there was in the wrong position in clue #2. It must be 5.
So it's 052

I knew it very quickly from the picture before I started the video. I just watched the end of the video to verify. I am also very tired and drunk right now. But I do not consider myself a genius. It is just a very easy puzzle. Nice channel by the way. I like it very much and I found much more challenging puzzles here. Keep doing this.
Geniuses? kids can solve it
Can' t kids be geniuses? Actually the biggest percent of geniuses is of kids, because at this stage they can let their imagination outside the box, unlike adults, who strictly follow so they do the same thing all over again
but it actually doesn't make anyone a genius. I am 13 and I am average as I can't say I am a genius and I got the answer and with just the first three clues too. Just saying.

I’d like to challenge that, although maybe my problem is that my first language is not English. Does in English language expression “one number” means “only one number”? In my language, Polish, not. Then the condition in the first raw is a little more tricky. Both 6 and 2 are potentially candidates. This leads to the answer 062, which was given in some comments below.
In this context it does mean "only one number." If it said "a number" then you might have an argument but even then it could be either way.

I also figured out that the first clue is ambiguous. It says one is correct and in the correct position, but it doesn't say anything about the other numbers, which might be incorrect, your assumption, or correct but in the wrong statement. That is, a positive assertion about something isn't necessarily a negative assertion about everything else.
The 3rd clue is also ambiguous and another solution is 062

The statement "One number is correct" does not eliminate the possibility of "Two of the numbers are correct". If the challenge was created with the purpose of being easily solved then it would have been much better to phrase it like "ONLY one number is correct". Let's say you have a lottery ticket with 5 numbers on it and your friend tells you that "4 of your numbers are correct". Then you can still have all 5 numbers correct, it's just that your friend chooses to let you know that at least four of them are winning numbers. This challenge can be approached quite differently if one interprets the statements the "correct" way.

please specify wether the hints are exhaustive. As is, the first hint for example only says that one number is correct and in the right position. It does not say that the other numbers are not correct. But you actually use that information in your proof.
It doesn't matter. It's a puzzle and therefore has a solution. If that solution can be determined by interpreting the clues as non-exhaustive, then it must be the same solution as Presh obtained by interpreting the clues as exhaustive. It is possible that interpreting the clues as non-exhaustive makes the puzzle unsolvable. (I haven't tried.) If so, then that interpretation of the clues is not the one the puzzle setter intended.

@jimmylang, If the clues are interpreted as being non-exhaustive, then the solution is not unique anymore; because 052 and 062 would both be solutions.

First time I ever beat your brain teaser just by the thumb nail
I solved it without any help. And I am in 9th grade so: yippee!
clue 1 : if the correct number is 6 the 2nd clue is wrong so there is no 6
clue 3 : two numbers are correct but in the wrong positions, 6 is excluded so it must be 2 and 0
clue 1 : the 2 must be the last digit
clue 3 : the 0 cant be the last nor the middle digit so it's the first
clue 2 : can't be 4 because it would be in the right position, can't be 6 so only 5 is left for the middle.
0-5-2, took me way more time to write the solution than actually solving it, give us harder problems Presh

I found 042 by thinking at the starting of the video and saw that my choice was in the final, but not correct 😭
I got the number without using the last two clues.
First I looked at the first two clues. In first clue, the correct number can't be 6 because of the second clue.
Then I looked at the third clue it says two numbers are correct and they are 2 and 0 because 6 is wrong.
So in first clue I know that 2 is correct. The last digit is 2.
And 0 is also correct but it is in the wrong position so it has to be in the first position. The first digit is 0.
In second clue I know that 4 or 5 is correct but in wrong position. It can't be 4 because only the middle position is empty and 4 is in the middle in the second clue. So it is 5.
And finally I got 052 without using the last two clues.

Your answere is wrong because : "Then I looked at the third clue it says two numbers are correct and they are 2 and 0 because 6 is wrong." 6 is not wrong. 6 is just not the 1st number but it can still be the second number.

In first clue, it says one is correct and in the correct position. And others are wrong. If the correct number were 6. Then in the second clue the correct number would be 6 too. But it says *in wrong position* So 6 is wrong.

Okay, but the way the question was phrased did not say that there was ONLY one correct/incorrect in a sequence of numbers, unless there is some hidden disclaimer for this question somewhere else not shown. For example "One number is correct and in the correct position" does not imply nor suggest that there is only one number in the sequence that is correct, because for all we know, only one could be correct, two could be correct, or they could all three be correct. In addition, one could be in the correct position, two in the correct position, or all three in the correct position. This is not taking into account all the other hints just yet, but illustrates a point that when the hint gives a quantifying value, it does not necessarily mean that the number of correct or incorrect numbers or positions always must be equal to that number given, but that at LEAST that many numbers or positions are correct or incorrect.

I solved it as 062 becasue the 3rd rule wasn't specific enough in saying only 2 numbers are correct, it didn't specify that all 3 couldn't be correct and I thought that was the big trick question since I solved it in 1min
It's definitely 052 or 062 as written.
Presh, and others in the comments, your reasoning is incorrect. You need to use all of the clues to solve this properly (although the answer obtained is correct, you haven't deduced it correctly).
The key point is that your solution has assumed that a number cannot be repeated in the code. Therefore after ruling out '8' from clue four, the first two clues do not tell you immediately that '2' is correct, as it is possible that '6' appears twice.
From the first four clues, all you can deduce is that either the code is 052, or the code is 66?, with '?' to be determined by later clues. This second option is then ruled out by the last clue as '0' is the only possible correct digit, but it is wrongly positioned in the final cell, meaning '?' must simultaneously be '0' and not '0', hence the solution is the alternative.
Edit: there's also a possibility that the correct number in clue one is '2', but it is repeated. This can also only be ruled out by the final two clues.

That claim is incorrect; the template 66? can be ruled out, based on the first four clues alone.
If the code was 66?, then based on the second clue,
"645 : one number is correct, but in the wrong position"
we can conclude that either the guessed 4 is correct but in wrong position, or the guessed 5 is correct but in wrong position (the guessed 6 would be in correct position, since we're assuming the correct code has the form "66?"). That would mean that the answer is 664. (665 wouldn't have a correct number in a wrong position.)
But then looking at the third clue,
"206 : two numbers are correct, but in the wrong position"
this clue does not match if 664 were indeed the answer. Therefore, the 66? option is ruled out.

That's another incorrect claim. The potential codes "2?2" and "?22" can already be ruled out by the first three clues alone. ("2?2" cannot match the third clue, hence is ruled out. If "?22" matches the third clue, the code must be either 022 or 622, but in that case they don't match the second clue, and hence they are ruled out too.)

No, my reasoning doesn't assume that the statements are exhaustively true. In fact, my previous reply treats the statements as being non-exhaustive. (I basically declared that 664 is the only code of the form "66?" that matches the second clue. I can only declare that if the second clue is interpreted as being non-exhaustive; otherwise no code of the form "66?" would match the second clue.)

By the way, I'd like to note that when a clue says something like "one number is correct", the phrase "is correct" means "matches a number in the true/secret code". "Is correct" does not mean "has been guessed in your guess."
So the phrase "one number is correct (but at the wrong position)" means
"One of the numbers in your guess matches a number in the true/secret code (but was guessed at the wrong position)"
and not
"One of the numbers in the true/secret code has been guessed in your guess (but is guessed at the wrong position)"

Dear Presh Talwalkar, can you upload more puzzles similar to this one but more complicated?
I did it without doing any maths. I just looked at the clues and deducted that 2 is last, than figured out 0 and lastly I put 5. It all took me about 5 minutes to solve. Its easy and fun. School level.

I think that this one is much easier than the other problems on this channel.
I can't help but notice that while the hint says "one number is correct and in the correct position", you automatically assume that everything else must be wrong. So while the hint states one number is correct and in the correct position, it never actually says anything about the other numbers (maybe they are all correct, or maybe only that one is - the point is, we don't actually know).
0-5-2 is a valid solution (I'm not questioning that!). But without the assumption, 0-6-2 would also be a valid solution.
For instance, take hint 1: One number is correct and in the correct position. That's true for 0-6-2 as well (2)! Another number happens to also be correct (6) but in the wrong position, but this doesn't contradict what the hint says.
Or take hint 3: Two numbers are correct but in the wrong positions. That's true for 0-6-2 too (actually all three numbers are correct but in the wrong position, but that still doesn't contradict that two numbers are..)

Presh presses on the word 'AND' in the first clue, one number is correct AND in the correct position, so does that mean there could be correct numbers in the wrong position?
You don't even need the last 2 hints, the first 3 are plenty.
So, some people mentioned that the puzzle doesn't say the clues are exhaustive, so we can't necessarily assume they're exhaustive. For instance, the first clue says that one of the numbers is correct and in the correct spot, but it doesn't say the other two numbers are completely wrong either. So the question is, can you solve it without exhaustive clues? As far as I can tell, you can come close, but there's two possible solutions.
We can start with clue 4 again and cross off everything that's a 7, 3, or 8. That helps us immediately with clue 5, since there's only 0 left as the "correct number in wrong spot". So we know one of the first two numbers is a 0.
Next, we can look at clue three. We know two of those numbers is correct, and that they're in the wrong locations, but we don't necessarily know that the third is incorrect, or that it's not in a correct location. Since we know 0 has to be in the first or second slots, we can say for sure that the code could be 602 (swapping the 2 and 6), or that the 0 must be in the first slot. However, we know the code isn't 602 thanks to clue 2, because clue 2 says that the correct number must be in the wrong spot, and if the code were 602, the 6 would be the only correct number and it would be in the correct spot. Because of that information, we know 0 can't be in the second spot, and must be in the first spot in the code. Since we know another number from that code must be correct, we can narrow down the possible codes to 062, 0x2, 02x, or 06x.
Now we can look at clue 1. We already know the 8 isn't correct, and we know the 6 can't be in the correct space because we've already determined 0 must be there. So the last digit must be the correct digit in the correct space, and we know the code ends with 2. However, because this clue isn't exhaustive, we can't say that 6 isn't in the code.
And this is where we run into a problem. We know from clue 2 that a 6, 4, or 5 must be in the code. Since we know the first and last digits are 0 and 2, the number from clue 2 must be in the middle. Since we also know that number from clue 2 is in the wrong spot, that means it can't be 4. Seeing 6 in the first 3 hints, and conspicuously absent from the 4th 'nothing is correct' hint, I immediately assumed it was a red herring, which made finding a solution pretty easy.
So happy I finally got one!

EG. ONE NUMBER IS CORRECT "AND" IN CORRECT POSITION. I ASSUMED THAT THERE COULD BE OTHER NUMBERS THAT ARE CORRECT BUT IN WRONG POSITION.
I did it in my head in like a minute. Also pretty sure the last two clues aren't essential. Knowing it's not 8 from the start is kinda helpful but not required to get the right answer
The quick way is to pull on the haft of the lock, turn the dials, one by one, until each one clicks. The lock should open.
Haven't see the answer yet, but here's how I solve it:
According to the fourth clue:7,3 and 8 can't be in any place. So in the fifth clue the only correct number is 0. Which mean one of the number is 0.
Look back at the first clue, there are only two possibilities left, 6 and 2. But if we combine the first clue with the second clue, we can see that 6 can't be in the code ( if we chose 6 is the correct number in both of them then they will contradict each other ). So that mean that 2 is the number in the third place.
And if we look at the third clue and the fifth clue, we can see that 0 can't be in the second or third place, so it has to be in the first place.
Now if we look at the second clue, it said that the correct number is in the wrong place(fill position), and between 4 and 5 the only number that is in the wrong place is 5, so 5 has to be the correct number. And the only place left for it to go is the second place.
So the code is 052.
