Shared this last week and listening and crying again i'm such an old fool but after burying my 7th dog it really hits home this old only child has had the best friends a man could want.
I had a dog like that. She adopted me. Duchess just walked up to my house and never left. Before she passed over, she had a litter of pups including Baron who would fill the gap she left behind and he was my best friend and the last dog I've had since. Lord willing, I'll see them both again in the hereafter. That would be heaven.

Wow! This young man has it! That was a heart breaking song that took me back to a time when I had lost my dog. I found myself listening to every word Mo put down on paper and dropped a tear before the end. He will be the new artist that puts "True Country" music back on the radio. Outstanding!

Unless you have owned a dog you probably won't understand this song. Our pet of 7 yrs. had cushings & was diabetic, the day we had to have put to sleep is one of the most sad days of our lives. Found this artist by accident, so glad I have!
I had a dog like that; loved that old dog but fortunately she had a litter before she passed and the pup I kept filled the holes and became my best friend for the next ten years. Haven't had another dog since; I still like dogs but losing them is too hard. Kinda hoping I'll see them both again somewhere down the road in the hereafter.
I am on my last 2. I buried my two black labs and a pure white Australian cattle dog. I had Frodo, DEE-OOH-GEE, and Rocky Top for 15 years. Went a year and a half without the pitter patter of nails on the floors. Lost one every 6 weeks. I have two lab pit mixes that are 10 years old now, Ronin, a black lab male that is my pittie and Mousse the female brindle that is my pittie looking water dog. She will break through the ice at 5° and Ronin wants nothing to do with water. I will have them for another 5 years hopefully. Getting a little grey on the chin. I will make the best of them, with White Rock Lake walks and dog park romps, and just sitting in the back 40 chasing Rocky J's, cats outside the fence and maybe a pesky bag or two.
