I’m just blown away that Eric knew it was called a “concourse”. That’s one of those words that you know is a word, you’ve maybe read it on a sign a couple times in your life, but have probably never used in a sentence…ever. Another great video! Definitely hope you guys go back and make a Nebuta matsuri video. 楽しみ!
Fingerblasting in the wind :D This whole episode has been a blast from the past, i remember it all like yesterday, i watched that video on release. Maybe all that fingerblasting reminds you to much of scalops frying in the pan, maybe it is releated, some sort of trauma :) I love you guys and i am still watching! I don't always comment and a couple of times as of late i have missed a couple of videos because of health and not having enough energy but i do try to watch them all, i still enjoy them very much and hope you can keep doing it for a very long time while also still enjoying it. Best of luck to you both, many hugs! Very happy to see Aomori again!
You two have the most incredible knack for going out into unique and interesting cities, and finding the most incredible looking food. Those scallops are just another "gotta try that some day" items you guys have found. Always a pleasure watching and discovering with you guys!
I need to rewatch the hitchhiking videos, those were filled with gems! When I get to Japan hopefully fingers crossed next March or April, Aomori is on the top of my list for real! Here's to fun new adventures and looking forward to videos on southern Honshu, that'd be really interesting to see - those prefectures don't seem to get much coverage!
In the Netherlands quite a few of the big train stations have a piano which you are free to play on. I really like the idea to liven up the place. It's amazing how good some of the people are
The Nebuta museum was a great experience when we visited it a couple of years ago, especially our kids loved it. Would be amazing to see the Nebutas roam the streets of Aomori. 😊👌🏻
07:21 the train you guys took from Hirosaki station is a secondhand train from Tokyu railway & used to run in Tokyo/Kanagawa area. :D You see similar cases in countryside (i.e. in Nagano, Gifu, Shizuoka, etc)
Kyde finally got to see the Nebuta magnificence. Brought back memories of the day that video came out. She was probably glad that the iconic bench was crane-lifted out of her reach!
Some train stations in London also have public pianos, probably videos on here from St. Pancras International of people playing, it's nice to allow such.
if you go to Goshogawara city (walking distance from JR Goshogawara station on Gono Line), Aomori, there is another museum for Nebuta/Neputa. Goshogawara's is vertical style (while Aomori's is horizontal style) & there are a couple of actual tall floats inside on the museum. :D
Looking at Google Street View, the area in question used to be a bicycle parking area before construction began so I think Eric mistook the park location. There's a big park area on the other side of the train station, perhaps Fingerbang Bench lives on.
@ikaruseijin01 yea, so, we were *slightly* off on where we thought it was, but confirmed where it was and it's 100% gone. The location was a bit behind Kyde (holding the camera) when I was talking about the bench. -E
Video is bringing back memories... The AFactory when i visited had anything you could want that had to do with apples. They had each variety of Aomori apples as well as pies and a ton of Apple related food products (got a bottle opener made from an aomori apple tree). Best apple I have ever had I got there.
That library book drop off thing is an amazing idea. Leave it to the Japanese to think up something like that. Sometimes when plans go to shit, those are the most memorable trips. 😀
Do you know what that reminded me off...Was that Music video with that Bird holding a heart In America...You are not alone or something along those lines...
That lady at the Train Station Piano is an absolute badass, dang. I tried my best to learn but I just suck at musical instruments, she's a friggin icon. Eric, you're not bad at all! Hirosaki sounds awesome, some cities just pull you in with the vibe. I'm actually going back through the Hitchhiking to Hokkaido playlist so the loss of Fingerbang Bench is pretty sad, but that museum was really cool. This was a really fun trip, thanks again for letting us go along!
K haven’t watched yet but I’m gonna comment now since I’m watching you at the gym. It’s a dangerous game I’m playing cause last time I did that I busted out laughing on the elliptical and nearly fell off but we all have to make sacrifices. I saw the community post about the the Hokkaido series being put up on your other channel so that’s probably what I’m gonna be watching during my next gym sessions
Apple pie talk. Here in France we have tarte au pommes, it has a jelly glaze and served cold with with chantilly cream &, or vanilla ice cream. However we also have tarte tatin, best served hot sometimes with creme Anglais (custard), either way it's good.
4:45 that was meeeeee Really enjoyed the video, めちゃくちゃなつかしい弘前よ... a little hard to watch honestly because I'm feeling so homesick for Hirosaki these days and who knows when they'll let me into the country again. You guys captured it well ❤ 🍎
Back in the olden days, 1985-1991 dad would take me to the neighborhood highschool and we would watch actual film "travelogs" with live voice over and just now got sentimental about dad how watching you guys is a continuation of that. Btw the films probably started in the 60's by WW2 GIs. Having their world expanded and wanting to see it better off and without brass telling them what to do. My Dad was a lowly sailor on small islands fishing fly boys out of the water of Ba-neka, sp? Dad was farm boy from Missouri.

I'd like to know what the floats actually weigh. Eric said about 4 tons, but that can't be carried by 30 people. Even if you had 80 people, that's 100 pounds each.
Happened to order a baked apple pie from McDonald’s while watching this video. Enjoyed my apple pie while you all ate yours lol. I will admit your apple pie looked way better than mine 😂
I can't believe they removed "the" sacred finger bench. I pretty sure that reference is in like 4 of your videos now! Didn't something similar happen in ueno park as well, a little ubi action?

Great end to the Aomori saga! I added Hirosaki to my list of places to go. That museum of Matsuri sounds rad, plus apple pie plus beach. I think all the Aomori apples aren't in Aomori because they're all exported to rest of Japan? Tokyo be stealin' those apples, yo!
haha, yea, we were off a bit, but we realized it before we left and we are 100% sure it has been removed. It was almost where we were standing when we filmed me talking about it. It didn't really change the narrative of the situation much and we were short on time to catch a train so we didn't explain on video. -E
@@kydeanderic I tried to post a google maps link to the precise location but it didn't seem to stick. youtube sometimes doesn't like my comments. Anyway yeah the bench park is down the road just a little bit north from where you were, almost under the bridge. the park it's in looked pretty derelict in the street view so I'm not shocked if/that it has been razed.
Will there be Autumn stuff videos? I would be very disappointed with the obvious lack of apple things to do as well. Maybe it was just too early in the year? I don't know much about apple season so I could be wrong. There should have been a take a shot for every time Eric mentions Finger-Bang Bench moment lol.

I think we'll all be puttin our ears to the wind listening for that fingerblastin'. You should make a song about it Eric! So poetic.
Going to need to monitor that construction site. Once they are done you have to go check it out.
As a Swede I love how effortlessly you use ”fika time”. Great video as always
hitchhiking in hokkaido series always my go to for rainy days! love the revisit!
