    I think it’s extremely helpful to beginners when you verbalise your thinking - the choices you make along the way and why. Like using black adhesive if using black grout to save white peeping through - except if glass it’s semi transparent and you have to use white - but then why you must remove the adhesive between the tesserae and why it’s less messier to do it 15-20 minutes in. I think all beginners should note those - as those tips will become very valuable to them. You are a good teacher indeed!

      Thanks so much Wendy appreciate that, I know it does annoy some people when I go into detail because they are already aware of it but then that's why there is a fast forward button. I think its also important as well. Thanks for watching and commenting Wendy. :)

    Your attention to details floors me! You even care about the bottom of your work. I applaud you! I'm lucky that you are on TH-cam, television is a bore. Can't wait for the next "episode " of your channel!

      My Pal Tiya arrived today! This will be my second project and so excited. I am wondering what the approximate weight is before adding tessara. Also, do you see any problems using tiles or picassiette? I don't have glass. TIA!

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sallygriffiths4876 That’s awesome. I would have to say the weight would be around 19 or 20kg because l used a large bag of Pal Tiya which was around the 18kg and allowing for gym ball and metal foil still inside. Generally I can’t see any problem with using picassiette or tiles as long as you cut the pieces small enough for the size ball you are doing and no one is going to be rubbing their hands over it. Your ball will look great when finished. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😊

    I’ve watched all your videos for the large gazing ball- I can see up to part 4 but it looks like the subsequent videos aren’t here on TH-cam yet. I want to see the final project please.

      I am just cutting roses and sticking them down which the other videos cover. Once i finish doing the roses and I get near the top I will post another video which should be in the next couple of weeks. I will then post further videos when they offer something different to see until the ball is finished. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)

    Where did you get your beautiful glass tiles from Peter? Why are you not leaving much of a grout line?

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      The glass tiles I made with a glass scorer, I have made a video on that th-cam.com/video/gYjVtf9j5sM/w-d-xo.html I like to have my grout lines very close by doing this the grout has less impact on my mosaic. Its just a personal choice and part of my design however there are times I like to have wider grout lines as part of the design as you will see in Part 2. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)

    Thank you for sharing, what is the tool you use to take off the extra thinset?

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thankyou Sheree, the tool is part of a kit it’s called a mini spatula very handy. I got it from merlinmosaica.com/product/mini-spatula-set/ thanks for watching and commenting. 😊

  • @LauraRantz
    @LauraRantz ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you please let me know why you are using thin set over Mac Glue

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      A few reasons thinset has body to it which means the tesserae is less likely to slide because its a sphere, its also more cost effective than MAC glue and MAC glue turns clear and some of this glass is semi transparent in areas. I love MAC glue but in this case its would not have been the best choice. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
