Sword Lance has to be one of the best weapons in the entire game. The fact that it's a remembrance weapon that can be infused is also incredibly cool, as it's the only one! It also helps that it looks appealing visually, which is something not enough people appreciate their weapons for.
I knew people were underwhelmed how seemingly "nonflashy" it's weapon is and don't talk about it enough because of that, which is fair actually. But simple is not always bad like in this way, at least to me.
@@TimothyGod I'll agree that functionality wise the weapon is great, but imo it looks very dumb with the triangular blade that breaks into a smaller triangle shape at the end, the weird sort of ricasso segment after the hand guard that doesn't seem very functional and the short and stubby grip on something meant to be used as a short polearm, it all just combines into a very weird and impractical look

I forgot I had the blue ring on my wizard last night, and got summoned to a team called ‘ROCK’, and ‘AND STONE’. Both fully decked out in Morne armor. The invader was being friendly, so after appreciating each others fashion, we had a good 1v1, and because I was a good sport, or maybe I’m just a sneaky thief, they gave me/I stole a cold perfume bottle from them mid-fight and took the win. It’s so much more fun when it’s not a gank.

Yea, I try out stuff on my own but sadly this weapon wasn't one of those that I had tried. Apparently not knowing this weapon combos from R2 to R1 is a crime to you that you had to jump out and gatekeep and I'm super sorry about that. Never thought I'd run into someone so judgemental like you in a Chase's weapon showcase video. Impressive to say the least.
Sword Lance also has the highest possible status build up rate which is usually reserved for Colossal Swords only if im not mistaken. Its certainly much higher than the other heavy thrusting weapons by a large margin. Blood infusion with spinning gravity thrust deletes enemies.
I was scrolling through the infusions on my STR build and noticed bleed buildup seemed kinda really high for having no arcane investment. Definitely gonna be taking advantage of this on my str/arc guy.
You could probably be an absolute menace with the deflect tear with this thing as well lol. Insane AR on a Strength build compared to both HTS and Lance, decently good guard boost for a weapon, and the Lance's Guard Counter animation instead of the Thrusting Swords
It's quite insane, when using standard affinity you get 50 guard boost which means you won't get guard broken even against colossal swords when rocking the greatshield talisman.
I wish we had more hybrid weapons. I'm a huge sucker for weapons that have the R1s from one class and the R2s from another. Or the 1h moveset of one class and the 2h moveset of a another
thats literally all blues and 99% of hosts. they're garbage players and cowards by nature. ive lost track of how many times they're super bold until i kill their phantoms, then the spam light roll and bhs and run run run run run run.

It's nearly the same story with most players in almost all of Chase's invasion videos: they run and pretty much stop fighting when alone. The shift in mentality is always amusing.

Chase just wanted to let you know that when people are doing the three fast thrusts of the messmer spear AoW you can actually back stab it during that time found it to be a good window as they’re stuck in the animation of it

You can also run it uninfused for those sweet greatspear guard counters. I love it with the deflecting hardtear, would really like to see what combinations you can cook up with that sekiro mechanic haha

You should try this build again but with the Deflecting Hardtear, the Guard Counter on the Sword Lance is the same as the Lance, and I recently watched a video by Oroboro going over a Guard Counter Lance build to surprisingly good effect, and the Sword Lance would perform even better since it has way more damage and better blocking stats than the Lance, while having the light attack move set of a Heavy Thrusting Sword. If you wanted to optimize this to go even further beyond, you'd start as a Hero and wear the Imp Head (Lion), Verdigris Chest and Legs, and Lionel Gauntlets for maximum protection and Poise for more efficient trading when up against random chip damage, with 58 Vigor, 44 Endurance, 79 Strength, and 11 Dexterity. You'd still be using Royal Knight's Resolve, the Two-Handed Sword Talisman, and the Spear Talisman, but you'd be adding the Curved Sword Talisman and Greatshield Talisman to your arsenal to make your Guard Counters as safe and powerful as possible, both of which could be swapped with the usual hotswap Talismans like Crimson Amber +3, Erdtree's Favor +2, Blessed Dew, Fine Crucible Feather for cheeky backstabs, Bull-Goat's when fighting big weapons, Crucible Knot for denying Throwing Dagger Headshot Combo shenanigans, etc.
I'm honestly amazed you didn't throw on piercing fang. I figured that R2 R1 combo functioned basically the same as the claymore. With the crouch poke into R2 combo followed by the piercing fang when they finally roll away after almost dying just to get roll caught.😅 Same scenario with giant hunt. Also added shabriri's woe to help keep him focused on me vs. the host... just on the off chance it helps.
Running r2 with royal knights resolve hits all 3 times while active. That with the 2hand and lacerated crossed-tree talismans while buffed with exalted flesh and golden vow I was hitting the omens at the underground roadside for 5200 damage (No buffs 3480) . That was without counter damage so it can be higher. That is certainly 1 shot damage in PVP.
There’s a lot of good weapons in the DLC. Try the horned warrior greatsword ash it has a combo and a guaranteed roll catch if they panicked plus an insane range ,with the new talisman that increases storm’s damage its powerful
I have been absolute amazed by this weapon on a Str Faith build with the new flame skewer ash. I have never had a weapon file my taxes for me its been amazing

I think like the third attack of the R1 chain has a half-ass little slash, but nothing that you would expect from the name or weapon description. Personally, I was hoping for a 50/50 moveset similar to the Serpent-Hunter; especially with the style of the weapon. Still a solid strength weapon, just a missed opportunity in my book 😕
