    Well, in such case, Teddy Riner would be up there with 10 world championship wins and 3 Olympic golds.

    Before it was in the Olympics Gene Lebell beat Johnny Osako twice & the entire Japanese judo team in mid 50’s. Might be a hard call who is #1 now

    I'd go with Koga. I've seen more of those amazing, magical throws from him than anyone else. What about some of the judo greats that were playing before judo was an Olympic sport? There is politics in the choosing of most country's Olympic teams. I don't think the Olympics is clean enough to use that as the gold standard.
