Great presentation. My surnames include Pereira da Costa. My great grandfather was from the Azoures, Portugal. Seems like I have some Sephardic roots. Very interesting.

I recently discovered that one of my ancestors was a Sephardic Jew. Her last name was Manzano, which as I understand means apple tree. They fled from Spain to the Netherlands.

Very nice presentation. I did not know Michael specialized in Sephardic genealogy.

Very nice presentation. Among my family names I find Pereira, Gomes, Martins, which I guess are sephardic related … my curiosity is about Giesteira … any connections that might confirm sephardic relation?

Good research. Our old family name ( pre Ellis Island) Casorla is a small town in southern Spain. My grandfather (emigrated from Macedonia)said that we go back Aragon. I'm thinking at some point, in the distant past we originated in Casorla and then migrated north to Aragon, hence aquiring our surname, such and such from Casorla. I remember my Grandfather and Grandmother ( Serbia) speaking Ladino.
