Idk if this is a natural hormonal part of leading up to birth, but the last week of my pregnancy I felt like a WRECK too, emotionally. I suddenly went from happy and healthy to heavy, sick, sad and angry that last week.
It’s hard but I do think it’s a good sign changes are happening💛 (for future mamas reading this)

This was such a lovely video. I’m 44 years old and just had my 4 th baby 2 weeks ago. My babies have all come at 38 weeks without any complications. I’ve been so blessed. I can’t imagine waiting beyond my due date for baby to arrive. I induced myself with my 4th by nursing my toddler. Worked like a charm, I was in labor immediately. I cried with you over the coughing. I also had weird congestion during labor, and then ended up pretty sick with coughing the week after birth, which wasn’t much fun.

This took me back to the end of my pregnancy a couple of months back. FTM and was put on bedrest in the last month b/c I had low blood pressure so everytime I got up I would get extremely light headed and i even fainted a couple of times. It was horrible, I was in constant tears and just wanted to feel like myself again. Your feelings are valid and it does not make you a horrible mother. Not enjoying every second of your pregnancy does not mean you don't love your baby, you just don't like being pregnant at that time! ❤

I had my baby boy almost 4 weeks ago, right at 42 weeks. I had the moment where I mourned the birth I envisioned having when I scheduled my induction. Also the "where's the baby" messages sent me into a bad mental state. I've considered myself pretty emotionally stable, but the week before labor was the lowest I had been in a long time.
Coincidentally, I went into spontaneous labor hours before said induction, so I arrived at my appointment and they didn't do much other than monitor me. Labor was quick.
I'm glad you have your baby boy in your arms. I'm also team "emotions are a sign of impending labor" camp

Crying watching you cry. You are an AMAZING mom, don’t ever doubt yourself. Your daughter is so blessed to have an amazing mom AND an amazing dad, don’t be hard on yourself, you and Matt are a great team and your daughter is creating amazing memories with you both. The young years are hard with kids but you have so much Time to spend with Sage and Oakley it won’t matter that you ´weren’t there’ as much when you were pregnant and not feeling well

Had my third baby 2 weeks ago at 41 weeks to the day. I can totally relate to this- every night of the last week I went to bed thinking baby would be here by morning... The emotions were REAL! Was doing ALL the labor inducing things. Started replying to the messages saying I would be eternally pregnany. But now he's here! And he was so worth the wait. Congrats to you and your family for welcoming a new little munchkin! Be well

Thank you so much for sharing this! Beginning in about week 20 I developed a pinched nerve in the skin of my upper abdomen and it drove me absolutely CRAZY as my stomach expanded and it stretched the skin. I had pain all day every day that ranged from low level to quite severe, and I was worried about how I would be able to push. By weeks 30-37, it was just getting worse and worse. But then when he dropped, he no longer was pushing on the skin up by the ribs and finally I got some relief. Now I'm 39 weeks 2 days and just waiting for him to come, finally not in pain. I so appreciate you sharing your breakdown about the rib pain, because it's so scary and frustrating to feel like you're totally ready except for one area of pain that you can't control and I had several meltdowns like that. I can't wait to see your birth vlog and I'm so happy baby Oakley arrived safe and sound!!

I appreciated you sharing the ups and downs. I wanted to cry right along with you! I had a terrible upper respiratory infection when I went into labor with my daughter and had zero energy. I ended up getting an epidural so I could sleep/rest as much as possible before having to push. I wish I could've held out but not knowing how long labor will go made getting the epidural the best option for me. Can't wait for the next vlog 😬

100% makes sense and right there with you, I'm 33 weeks but the beginning of the third trimester I feel like it's been one thing after another (sickness, rib and hip pain, belly muscle pulls, constipation, hemorrhoids) I also ended up becoming super anemic and needing iron infusions, I was so tired and felt like a vegetable. I have a 2 year old and the mom guilt is sooo real, it was so hard to keep up with him. You are so strong for keeping your head up, really excited for you and hope you and baby are doing well ❤

I hear you as far as not feeling good. My due date was yesterday. These last 2 months were riddled with COVID, food poisoning, sinus infection, SPD, and sciatica. I could barely breathe out of my nose for a few weeks and I was like, I want this baby out but how can I do this when I can’t even breathe out of my nose. I really wanted to feel better first. I guess my baby listened because she’s still in there cooking. Lol hope you get some relief from everything soon!

Amazing video. As far as mental health goes, just wanna add from my xp to anyone who's ever been a victim of hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race : DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'there's something wrong with me' sink in. Trust me, it's a recipe for self hatred and compulsive anxieties later on. When we suffer and we need a break, it's only natural to think: maybe if I was as everybody else I would be accepted. No, haters will always find something else to prey upon. I've always had androgynous look, which was a real fuel for bullies when I was growing up. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)

I cannot believe the parallels in our weeks leading up to birth. When I was pregnant with my first, my husband got me sick at 37 weeks. (Still bitter about it 😑) I coughed so much that I strained my ribs. I was going to the chiro, using heat and cold and arnica all like you mentioned! I was so nervous for labor and that I wasn’t going to be able to push or handle a contraction while also dealing with the rib pain. My midwife assured me that everything would turn out okay and I most likely wouldn’t even feel my ribs while I was in labor. Everything ended up turning out fine and I birthed my baby in the birth tub. I’m glad your birth turned out good in the end too. But I definitely relate to when you were feeling super emotional 😩

As you said, I'm second guessing myself, I'm a little scared because I remember the intensity and the pain I felt and I'm stressed about going through this again. I'm 32 weeks wth baby 3... and i feel scared of birth. I don't feel ready or prepared with the things i need (we're going thru a bit of a financial valley). I wanted a Midwife but don't have the money for it & couldn't find one close to where we live. I haven't had any prenatal care all pregnancy which actually gave me peace of mind... going to the doctor makes me anxious. But birth itself scares me because it's so painful.... i think i have a low pain tolerance.
RIGHT NOW I HAVE A REALLY BAD BACK PAIN. I almost want to cry cause ive got a toddler & infant to care for still.

Hi! Giving birth in January (3rd baby), your videos actually inspired me to do a completely natural birth. With how much mental, physical, and emotional preparation that goes into having a natural birth and feeling your best during that birth, it’s no wonder at all that you’d be so upset that you aren’t feeling your best. Especially spending so much time (at least it’s been this way for me) visualizing your “perfect birth”, and having to think about it not going the way you expected. We’ve seen your “birth announcement “ video so we know he’s here and perfect, but really felt for you in this vulnerable moment🤍

Thank you for this 🤎 it really is so much mentally and physically and looking back I can see everything worked out in the end but it was definitely hard those last few days. Rib pain is no joke.. sending you lots of positive vibes for your birth in January. It’s going to be amazing

I remember going into my second to last appointment hoping i was more than 1 cm, because i was feeling so many contractions, though they weren’t consistent they were intense when theyd happen. I remember telling my fiance “if im not more than 1 cm when the dr checks, im knocking everything over” lol i was so over it, but of course, i was 1 cm….i went to the car and cried

I have never been pregnant and yet, if I cough, sneeze, laugh or bend the wrong way, I pee myself. During cold & flu issues like cough and sneezing I tend to wear pull ups for adults because I cannot stop working every two moments to go change my trousers.

I do not want to rain on anyones parade. That is not my intention at all but I promised myself that if I ever met a mama with a small child in gymnastics I would warn them for their child’s benefit and also to honor my little girl.
My daughter was abused in gymnastics. I was one of those moms who chose to believe gymnastics was a safe sport because it had … learned it’s lesson and been cleaned up. Sigh… no it hasn’t. I know sage is small and probably not in anything intense but I hope that you will hear me for sages sake. Maybe help her find something else while she’s still young before she falls in love with gymnastics. The culture is toxic. It hasn’t been cleaned up. It’s just as broken as ever. My little girl dedicated her life to it and will never be the same. It impacted her entire life negatively. She’s really struggling. Just know if I had to do it all over again for my little girl she would never have been a gymnast.

So exciting! I was pregnant with my first when I found you now I’m pregnant with my second. Can I ask you - the UK are pushing flu jabs on 2 year olds now. I strongly disagree that 2 year olds need flu jabs. Is this happening in Canada and if so what’s your take? I ask as you’re into health and I really am too so I’d value your opinion. My other half thinks we should potentially do it because he ‘doesn’t want Leo to get ill.’

I’m 37 weeks and 5 days pregnant. My doctors are going to induce labor me at 39 weeks just because of how big my baby is and how fast she is growing. She already can’t fit into new born clothes. She is going to be a big baby. They are guessing she is going to be a little over 9lbs when she is born. I get ribs pain every now and then so I get it. Yes it’s extremely painful. On those days I barely move.

Lol i am SOOOO jealous of your food... Im such a food lover, i love trying new foods and enjoy eating so much, I always thought Id eat my full weight in food if i ever got pregnant, but surprisingly my main issue during my pregnancy (im 37 weeks) has been eating, i cant manage to eat more than 2 spoonfulls without feeling suuuper sick and if i try a little bit more, out it comes.. I've been on special drink suplements, but still i've only managed to gain 4kg in my entire pregnancy, Im soooooo ready to have this baby and stuff my face with food 🤣
