  • Learn how to build power in your voice with vocal twang. In this video you will get the vocal twang definition and some great how to exercises that will help you use twang when you sing. Vocal twang is a healthy way to sing with power because it changes the quality of your sound after the sound is produced in your vocal folds.

    Ugh, thank you so much for clarifying from the onset what you are talking about! SO many teachers have only one definition for something and totally ignore the fact that others use the same word in a different way. That happens so much with the word "twang" in the singing world! Well done.

    The twang also gives a better and optimal cord closure. Thats the best. What do you think about the use of both twang, the nasal twang and the oral twang at the same time on the mixed voice coordination??
    The nasal twang brings your voice to the pharyngeal resonators and the oral twang gives you a better cord closure. Do you think so??

    • @camara1194
      @camara1194 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i think both are beautiful. oral twang is stronger than nasal twang, but both forms are great.

    I really want to be a singer and I worked on my twang in my voice for two and a half years with a great singing teacher that supported me the whole way But sadly I still kept running out of air and i got me so depressed when I realised it’s not that I am doing twang wrong it’s just that I have a very small lung capacity and if I actually wanted to be a professional singer it would be much harder for me than for other people😢 but I’m still trying and hopefully it’s still possible for me 😄

    Hi Ronja, I just stumbled across your channel while trying to find my twang, and I think I found a good start thanks to your intuitive explanation and excercises! Thank you! 😊I have a little question and hope you might have a tip on that: When doing the exercises and get the twang-y sound, I find myself doing the thing where I raise my larynx and lower my soft palate at the same time, which (as far as I know) makes the sound kind of bright and "twang-y" too. I tried to lower my larynx, but then I loose the twang sound. Do you have any tips on how to practice twang with a low larynx position, or how I can "feel the difference" between "moving soft palate+larynx" vs "moving the epiglottis"?😊
