      The Lord blessed me.
      I started playing flute first and transferred to the saxophone.
      My God.
      It was an easy transition.
      Now after playing the saxophone more, because I stopped playing the flute practically for over 50 years, I'm now listening to some of these flute lessons to brush up on my flute.
      God is really blessing me.
      Keep at it.
      Practice practice practice. It works

    Hi Jane, I'm a (very long standing) trombone player and have just got myself a flute as a new interest and change of direction. I couldn't work out how to change the "brass" embouchure to the flute version until I watched your two "first go" videos and it all makes sense now. Thanks.... still a long way to go until I can get a good reliable sound but I'm on the way. Keep up the good work.

    • @JaneFluteSchool

      Hi Anita, I have a Muramatsu flute. I love it. (Remember that the sound that you get on a flute is much more about how you blow, than the type of flute.) Good luck with your playing!

    • @JaneFluteSchool
      @JaneFluteSchool 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Anita, check that the embouchure hole of the flute is lined up exactly with the hole in your mouth - rewatch the video if you need to. Hope that helps! Jane

    Hi Jane, Like the video, I use to play the Clarinet about 48 years ago in the School Orchestra. Well, I got Myself a student flute to learn with, a Vivace 3 Karioshi. Just done the rice spitting and I can get the low and high Octave with the palm covering the end of the headjoint ! I am struggling with the high Octave with the palm away from the end of the headjoint, but I have managed it ! Just need to keep practicing yes ? I have sent you My E-mail address as I'm interested in learning, really only for My pleasure.
    Kind regards Paul.

    Thank you Jane! Spent about 5 hours going "pooh pooh pooh" yesterday and getting nowhere. Spent a few minutes looking at your videos and
    bingo! Weird for me as I'm a pro musician (guitarist) but this is my first serious wind instrument at the age of 65 and I couldn't believe how hard it is! I will persevere and look at your other videos. You're a wonderful teacher!!

      Oh thank you DLL for your compliment! The flute probably feels hard for you because of not quite getting the right embouchure yet. Hope you have worked it out now :) The flute will feel much easier after that. Jane
