question regarding hand at 26:18 - i'm not good at BB defence so much in these FT spots, i think i would have defended the J8s in garrin's spot though vs min raise. what's your thoughts about this hand? i know we're supposed to defend wayyy less often from the BB in these spots. is this just all about keeping your stack ahead of the other shorties? or maybe just playing only jam/fold at 10bigs? its interesting to me, all i know is that i dont know :D
A very entertaining format, beside you're quite good at covering these FT, since you've battled with these guys and you're familiar with tough spots. 👌👏✌️
That just isn't true. The value of the chips for a big stack are more important than knocking out a short stack here given how much ICM pressure they can then both exert on other small stacks. That doen't mean he should do a nonesense bluff but betting for protection when you can def be ahead of the short stack is completely standard. Thus all darie is often doing is giving the SS more value by calling with garbage here. Earlier in a tournament it's a bit more OK cause there's more incentive to just bust the short stack but even then J5o just seems too wide unless you think the short stack is just punting off super wide.
15:28 he skip A5s vs utg +1 and call K9o vs utg 2?? only 1 more until bb is other small stack too I think is a blunder I would probably call A5s and fold K9o?, 6.5 open I wonder if other big stack could 3bet wide there because he wouldn't have AA-KK with that size(ev loss I would imagine).. this structure tournament when every1 is small stack in ft is probably the nosebleed games to study and play today.
I think there's a lot of factors to consider here that make the spots slightly different. First A5s more likely to be dominated by a higher A than K9 dominated by a K. And K9 also has chance of 2 card outs vs 55-88. Second is that the BB in hand one was a small stack so him folding either gives a chance BB busts or gets him shorter. Also if he calls BB will fold so much that even winning the hand he's still short. Where in the K9o hand the BB is the other big stack so a) there's no pressure on a short stack, and b) the extra BB generated can be v useful if he does win to actually spin up a stack that can compete and have some fold equity at 6bb. Yes, the BB is in BB soon and could def bust before you but it's less than a 2k pay jump compared to 9x that for 1st. And if BB survives you're down to crumbs and even more likely to bust next.Final point to note of the difference is also just the positions.. he has less hands now to find a hand/spot before he's in the BB and again v likely to bust.
I ran a solve and a full breakdown video of 87s vs AKo vs TT hand, check it out here: th-cam.com/video/OCRsh-7jWjc/w-d-xo.html

Great content Jargo
Nice vid man
Great commentary! Would love to see the sims, these short stack spots are so sensitive
one will be posted today
did lena won 8 wcoops?
If in the 87s spot Grizzorg should have high card blockers mostly, isnt AKo a decent call?
Nice video btw
Made a full breakdown video for that hand: th-cam.com/video/OCRsh-7jWjc/w-d-xo.html
@@bungakat Yes, I saw that after finishing this video. Great content, thanks!
Lenna has a lot to learn when it comes to tourney poker. I’ve smoked this fool so many times it’s scary.
lulz
jam KQo with the big stack on the left and two shorties. SURE JAN Xd
that defense here 16:53 was to eliminate raidalot. Its normal to pay 1 blind to gain pay jump. RhoNin9 shouldn't bet there.
