Thanks for the show.n.tell of the RR2080 Large Wharncliffe modern folder. See ... I like to carry both a large modern folder AND a smaller slipjoint as a secondary. Got it covered ! We'll see ya in the livestream and red knives.
Glad your trip went well RJ! Interesting challenge and very appropriate for the summer! Lots of small knives that are really great edc knives! Thanks and I hope you are well!!
Jeez, that’s a pretty big one for a Rough Ryder! As someone else mentioned, I like to pair a larger modern knife with the smaller traditional slipjoint as the secondary. One of my common pairings is a Civivi “Praxis” and a Buck 389 Canoe. Welcome back, BTW. Glad you didn’t create any ruckus with those TSA guys😆
I didn’t want to be on their watchlist, 😜! I used to pair a modern with a slip joint but for the last year I’ve gone almost exclusively slip joint for everything. It’s a fun exercise to return to the past and do things like our grandfathers did. Thanks Mike!
Great video RJ! That is a big ol' honkin' wharncliffe! Glad you made it home safe. I wish you good luck on your sub 3 inch knife challenge. Personally, I'd be lost without a Folding Hunter and a Large Stockman in my pocket, hahaha! I do like to carry some smaller knives sometimes, such as my Sodbuster jr. Have a great weekend, my friend.
I understand. We all get used to a certain carry and take what we need for our daily routine. I used to carry smaller knives and then moved on to larger and decided to revisit my smaller knives for a little bit. Thanks Rick!
Great challenge! I am up for it! Ive got more than a few peanuts an swell centers and more! Thats a big RR nice blade! I cannot believe you made it home safe! Very glad though. Portland is not as safe or as cool as It use to be.
I am glad you want to join in! I thought it might be a fun exercise. I have quite a few knives that size that have been getting passed over in my rotation. Thanks Andrew!
One of the only knives that I carry that's under 3 inches is the Case peanut. And if you don't already have one of those, I definitely recommend getting that one. Cheers, buddy!
Thanks for the reminder! I’ll correct that on the livestream. And thanks for letting me borrow yours, I liked it enough to eventually buy one. Thanks Hal!
@@RJsKnives it's my top choice to carry SAK if not carrying an Alox Electrician or Alox Soldier from the 60's. The Compact is full of utility and not bulky
Looks like a very substantial knife. It's kinda like a folding Katana...with a Wharncliffe. They're putting wharnies on everything these days. I'll bet it would be a great draw knife.
Nope, nope, nope. There are some task that just require a bigger blade and more robust build. Cutting nylon straps for instance. But the smaller blades will do most task. 😊
For my daily tasks, a small blade should work. I don’t have to deal with nylon straps and my preferred tool is a utility knife for those. Thanks Michael!

Right on, Byron! See you there!
Very cool Rough Ryder! I mostly carry little knives! Thanks for sharing! Hope you had a great Friday!
Right on, Phillip! Small knives get the job done. Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Cool knives. Glad you made it back safely. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Thanks Stan! God bless!
A very cool big Wharncliffe, thanks for showing it, RJ, hope you have a great weekend.
I hope your weekend is good to you also! Thanks Jose!
That’s a big Wharncliff folder😯. That Tanto Cold Steel is wicked! Have a great day
Two really cool big knives. Thanks Randy!

I think it will be fun. I hope you join in. Thanks John!

Very nice modern from RR, thankful you and Victor made it home safely.
Glad to be back! Thanks Ronald!
There are a large bunch of knives to choose from in that size range.👍
Definitely! I kind of stopped carrying them and that was a big part of my early collection. I thought it was high time to revisit them. Thanks Gizmo!
Love the Wharncliffe! Nice job buddy!
It’s a beast! Thanks David!
Very cool. Nice little Buck knife. Hopefully i will be able to watch the show in Sunday. Glad you made it home safely brother.
I hope that you can make it also. Thanks Jeff!
I didn't know Rough Rider made knives that big !
What a beast !
I don't have any Roughies moderns !
They make some really nice modern knives. Definitely worth a look. Thanks Tony!
An awesome beast. Great video RJ 👍
Thanks Jeremy!
Great video I glad you made it back home safely
Thanks Uriel I appreciate you!
Wow that is a massive RR. I have low key had my eyes on a few moderns from them. Alot of them look really really good
They have some cool modern knives. The giant Wharncliffe is a must! Thanks Travis!

I have a couple of peanuts. And I want to get some more. I will discuss it more on the livestream and will also have updates in my videos.
I still have the large RR wharncliffe. They are T10 Carbon steel and would look nice with a patina.
Thanks for the reminder! I’ll correct that on the livestream. And thanks for letting me borrow yours, I liked it enough to eventually buy one. Thanks Hal!
I love my compact- one of my most carried knives
It’s definitely a good knife. Thanks Kathleen!
Welcome back. Coincidentally I was looking at a RR jumbo trapper today..
Nice! They do have some nice ones. Thanks Christoph!
@@RJsKnives That wharncliffe really is in CS size territory. For me the Vaquero Voyager makes the right statement.
The Compact is a great true practical EDC and it’s so popular because it’s so great. Probably my favorite 91mm SAK
It really is a great EDC tool. Which is why it made the cut to go on my trip. Pun intended. Thanks MrPsiman!

Yes, it’s definitely a fun knife. I agree, Wharncliffe blades have their purpose but they shouldn’t be on everything. Thanks BDH!
I have looked at the Giant RR multiple times, but never pulled the trigger.
Definitely a fun knife that surprisingly fits in your pocket. Thanks Rusty!
Spyderco Dragonfly 2
Great suggestion! Now I need to get one! Thanks Rusty!

I always carry a lighter knife wearing shorts
Yes, I do tailor my carry based on what I’m wearing also. Thanks Randy!
HT, big on red???😂😂😂
Who knew?
