Thanks for sharing the video and typing tests! Super excited for more folks to experience gummy o ring (used my bakeneko60 a ton and am waiting on a January 60). Any thoughts on how this compares to the bakeneko 60 and/or 65 in terms of feel? Seems like it’s unquestionably a more premium case
It's a perfect video from the real visual beauty to the sound. I watched and learned a lot!! I will visit you often in the future. Please upload a good video.
Man this thing sounds good. My Envoy just arrived, and here I am considering this one as well!
LFGGGG i had to resist temptation to get the envoy so bad, but in fairness this is a gummy o ring mount so different mounting style = totally justifies keeping both! ;)
@@MakerModsI think it's worth a comparison... even envoys with different material weights sound different and the "lattice" mount is fairly similar in concept to the "gaskets" in the Neo65. Sure the Envoy has other features that to justify it's cost but the Neo also brings the trimode option as well as Oring as mentioned.
@@MakerModsI think you’re right, don’t own an o-ring board.😅
You still made a good choice in getting the envoy though! Mine arrived at the beginning of August and I'm really loving it so far! The Neo65 is definitely interesting but I'm very happy with the envoy
@@Nerfca Yes! Nothing against the Envoy it’s hands down my fav board right now. Maybe the Neo will be my new work board :)
Super hyped for this board. Any chance of you checking out the Cupid 65 by Chaosera?
Love that color coordination, gives quite a premium feel. I think this might be the one that would scratch my wireless itch of the Envoy. Although I've grown dissatisfied with the coarse QK anodization after feeling how smooth the Envoy is, so I might just wait for a 65% trimode by another maker in the future...My QK80 Black is a literal fingerprint magnet. Any little bit of oil would leave a mark on the keyboard that is extremely hard to remove, unlike the Envoy which remains smooth and prestine and always easily clean with a gentle wipe.
This is cool, I noticed you have those green translucent caps, just wondering how's the pairing for this green colourway?
excited for a QK75 rerun or v2 as I missed the QK75 saw the MKC 75 but wasn't interested, a good 75 with a numpad I'll place on left side of me would be perfect.
What are the biggest differences between the 2 mounting styles? I have heard that gasket is livelier but thin, and the o-ring is fuller and muted but adding/removing the batteries can alter the full/liveliness of the board, but wanted to get a second opinion on this. I am planning to use this on an fr4 plate with plate foam only and Gateron summertimes (don't want it to sound too sharp/thin which is another reason I'm asking). Thank you in advance and another great video!!! I always love your dad jokes, they remind me of my dad 🤣
Please compare the Prestige Silent linears (42gf) with the Haimu Heartbeat!
I've only ever found the Pristige Silents on the Varmilo Minilo board!?
You always make great videos!
Hey! what cable are you using for your keyboards?
will you happen to get a review for a kbdfans pluto? also as always nice review!
Does anyone know if you can get an LED backlit illuminated option with this?
yes i bought one and loving it and with the 2.4ghz mode . its so good...for the price .
The British racing green caps go crazy
Honestly as good as this is... I'm really looking forward to the Neo Arisu they're working on. And this is a periodically in-stock?!? (Edited for spelling)
Same!! I'm holding out, don't know for how long, but hopefully not too many months
Very much broke right now but holding out for the Neo70/FRL, according to the Neo roadmap it’ll show up in stock late September or early October @ $110-135, can’t wait for that
can someone tell me please if is should buy this or a Mode envoy :(
Are stabilisers necessary or just an add on?
will this keyboard always be in stock or is this like a group buy where you have to buy it now and wont be able to buy later?
Always in stock
neo65 vs enter67 what's better?
the neo switches were made by MMD if I'm not mistaken
This board has a lot going for it, but the front aesthetics are too ordinary for my taste. However, I do appreciate the side view and the back design.
High quality vid man
where did you get that cable?
What are those keycaps? really like the gold car on the enter
NicePBT British Racing Green
How long does it take to ship to the US?
Anyone know what the gold enter and esc keycaps are?
Edit: nvm, found it: GMK British racing green keycaps. Next time put the keys you use in the description please…
It's an amazing value keeb, just a pitty they did not included an ISO variant option for their PCBs
The tri-mode PCB and solder PCB actually support both ANSI and ISO layout :)
best pun since the puns started, i'm so proud
A little confused here, I thought this board was a gasket mounted board, not a tray mount? Still might be the slight upgrade since I wanted to replace my bakeneko!
Yes it is gasket mount or o-ring.
@@SlickSpingo He says its a tray mount board at 1:26 so I got confused. Fair enough though!
Sorry for the confusion! I guess it’s more aptly called a “unibody design” like Neo calls it. It’s not a strict tray mount in that there are no standoffs in the bottom tray where you screw the pcb+plate assembly, but it’s also not a traditional gasket mount where the gaskets are compressed between a top and bottom case. To be honest, I don’t know if you can really call this a “gasket mount” in the sense where there’s no seal/compression like with a normal gasket, but more of a suspension mount similar to the mode envoy!
@@MakerMods That actually helped clear up the confusion a lot! Thanks for taking the time to write that explanation out, appreciate the clarification and the videos!
Nice!!
Envoy or Neo?
These have too few keys, all my keyboards have 104 keys or nothing at all. 🤣 But since the makers name is Neo, shouldn't the only color options be Red or Blue? 😸
Bought on 8th of Aug and still waiting.
How is it compare to the jris65 sound wise?
haven't had a chance to try a JRIS unfortunately, but I'll try to get my hands on one!
Does this take screw in stabs if you run it in gasket mode?
yes
obvi not the o-ring tho
"The best keycap set of all time" -- a gentleman of good taste. Whence those metal novelties, though?
this would be a great board to replace your Polaris for switch reviews bc so many people will own one and it sounds great
I actually changed my sound test board to the vertex arc60, but you’re right in that maybe I should swap over to the Neo! Thanks for the feedback!
@@MakerMods just use both ez
What do you like more, this or Arc60?
That’s a hard one because they’re pretty different boards altogether, but I think if I was recommending a board I’d have to go with the Neo. It’s hard not to given the price for quality, and I don’t feel like you’re necessarily getting any “more” board for your money if you go with the arc. That being said I prefer the pure aesthetic design of the arc over the Neo!
@@MakerMods I see, both are so so good for the price its so hard to decide. I personally have an Arc myself, which makes it really hard for me to decide if getting a Neo65 is worth it
@@tisthegreat7420 if you haven’t tried/don’t own a gummy o ring mount I’d say it’s worth the price of entry at this price point. The gasket mount was also extremely well engineered, and if going by type feel I personally really like the Neo. They’re soft, but not too bouncy if that makes sense.
Jelly evolv review?
I just got the $90 EK68, it is thocky. It has a knob. It is 65%. I think I am good. The only thing the Neo65 may do better is full QMK support. EK68 only allows VIA with 1 Fn layer. If your Neo65 allows more than that, then we can talk. But you didn't mention that did you? What firmware support does it have, can you have per layer and per key RGB? How many layers? I really want full fat QMK!
4 layers and per key RGB - you'd miss the quality of surface finish comparing this with ek68 - this is $300 level surface processing
@@qwertykeys2119 4 layers is pretty nice. I think I'll make my own PCB for the EK68 with a rp2040 MCU to give me that QMK goodness
still havent gotten mine :c
Torn between this and tkd
I just want my cycle7 now smh
Very excited on this board however I would have loved if they got all the logistic sorted out before advertising an in stock early august only to delay and move to claim late august. This is coming from someone who owns every Qwertykeys board and has been anxiously awaiting this release.
you already kNEO I smashed that LIKE button even before finishing the video
Day 3 of asking for Varmilo Prestige Silent switches vs Haimu Heartbeat! Please Makermods!
I just purchased the TKD Cycle7 after selling my Zoom75, since I preferred the look and feel of the Cycle7. Now I'm curious about adding the Neo65 for the price point of 79.99 USD.
🤣
Wow what a mistake.
@@MsToshi1990 is it really a mistake though? I think the Zoom75 is good value too, and might be more useful with the LCD screen, but the sound and feel of the Cycle7 likely edges it out at 2/3 of the price.
Damn, I'mma have to beg my parents for a bit more money
i'm broke af rn, i shall wait for aftermarket
we'll try to make it in-stock as long as possible - no need to pay aftermarket premium for it
do you guys have any plans on restocking EU vendors as well?@@qwertykeys2119
bro in europe price is scam asf min is 120 euros ....
yeah EU tax
European taxes go brrrrr
i'll be happy when this tiny keyboard fad is over.
How is 65% tiny? Just buy a full size keyboard of you can't be bothered to use layers
@@wuuq when you already use modifiers in game to add a 3rd or 4th modifier key makes it awkward. NTY
What's the weight? Nobody has talked about the weight
