Thanks everyone for watching! The notebook build starts at 2:27, just thought some might like to see the coffee making process. Feel free to skip to the build!
@@toothless-tiger I guess so! I feel if you do the process yourself, it's easier to appreciate the work. Its very easy to criticize one you buy if the paper isn't even or if a stitch is crooked. If you made it yourself, you only get to blame yourself lol!
notebook part starts at 2:27 great video! just made one of these a couple weeks ago and loved the process. it's great seeing others who enjoy this too. :)
@@QuietOldCrow I am using a waxed thread made for leather projects. The needles are also leatherwork needles. The stitching technique is called a saddle stitch. The thread basically weaves over itself in a figure 8 style motion. There are a ton of saddle stitching videos here in TH-cam. Thanks so much for watching!
Useful tip: leather needles can be expensive. Tapestry needles from a craft store might be cheaper. I actually use tapestry needles to saddlestitch leather. By the way, if you do use leather needles, check they have a rounded tip. Glover's needles are often used in leather craft, but they have a sharp, triangular point for piercing soft leather without using an awl beforehand. Those would tear paper somewhat.
@@six10creative I myself have made several of those! Those "passport" size notebooks! Before the pandemic arrived in the states & still have them in storage. I used 8.5 X 11 sheets of paper and cardboard for the body, from the 12 pack cans of soda. Label? Irrelevant.
@luistrevino5959 I bet the soda boxes made cool covers! Yeah, labels are necessary, I just like to add them to mine, kind of a personalization. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
@@AcucarComCanela I did a few at a time. I notice, with this edge cutter, you run a higher risk of messing up the more sheets you try to cut at the same time. Thank you so much for watching!!
@@six10creative yeah, it's a balance. I prefer cutting about 4 sheets at once than just one.. And I do it in a way that the notebook is almost closed, so that the sheets keep aligned. I put the remaining pages under my cutting board, but that takes a little bit of extra work.

I imagine that the off-cut could make for a top-bound note pad! Put it in a reusable leather cover and you've got a great set!
@@fjolliff6308 if you notice in the video, I stop and stare at it for a bit. I was thinking the exact same thing!
Thanks. Saddle stitch- would have been nice to have that explained. Subbed for the support.
@iosmusicman maybe I can do that in th next one. There are so many videos about it already, I didn't think to do it. Thanks so much for the support!
Thank you for this! Just went ahead and made my own - no more buying notebooks for me
@@Motalu_ Perfect! Especially when you can get 500 sheets of paper for $12!

What kind of thread are you using? Needles too? I found that stitching interesting. How does that work? 10:36

I didn't actually make them as " cover"? I made it to be "a copy only" of the passport, nothing more
Don't know if you did that, but you can cut more than one sheet of paper at once with the edge cutter :)
