    They said there were 5 suspects and now 5 from that WJC team all are on mysterious leave of absence.
    This stuff that happens in junior hockey is disgusting and criminal and needs to stop!

    At this point, man... it's looking a *lot* like the majority of these indefinite leave of absenses is the smoke to the recent news about Hockey Canada and imminent charges in London, ON. It's hard to ignore the connection to the 2018 WJC team.
    With regards to Dube specifically... If he was granted indefinite leave "for mental health reasons", but he instead was told to report to police, it can be accurately said the Flames went above and beyond, and not in a good way. The other teams merely stated an indefinite leave. The Flames associated it with mental health. That is not to say that one being charged with a crime cannot also experience mental health issues, just that the Flames tied it to mental health. Had it just been an indefinite leave, like the other teams, that concern/criticism wouldn't be a thing.
    At the end of the day, regardless of whether these five players are the same five who were told to report to London Police, I hope justice is finally served. The victim has waited six long years for this day, and has even longer to wait for a trial and a verdict. I feel like that's the most important part here.

    • @baiqi44
      @baiqi44 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But what if Dube told the Flames organization that it was mental health related, then should the Flames get blamed? I mean, Dube might be under a lot of mental stress right now (might be deserved if he did the crime) so that makes sense. But, that would make Dube a real pos for telling the Flames it's mental health related if he did indeed do the crime. Even if he didn't do the crime, telling the Flames it was mental health related, instead of telling them that he's getting criminally charged, already makes Dube a very untrustworthy person. If the Flames knew that Dube was getting criminally charged and still used the mental health route, then that makes the Flames organization really really stupid.

      If the victim has to wait more than 6 more months for the trial then they'll be released by then as free men. Canadian law doesn't allow people to be held for more than 6 months with no trial or verdict or sentence.

      @@baiqi44 If you don't think an organization knows every little detail about your criminal history when they draft you, whether it be a speeding citation or shoplifting a bottle of pop at the local convenience store, then I have a bridge to sell you! That is not to say Dube might actually have a mental health issue, but the Flames, Devils, Flyers, and Sens all knew this might become a problem for their players when they were drafted. There's a reason the other teams -- even the Swiss team -- was incredibly non-specific.
      But, if this is just a seriously bad coincidence with Dube, I truly hope he's getting the help he needs.

    • @baiqi44
      @baiqi44 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dj4aces And what does any of what you said have to do with my comment above? I pointed out every scenario that the Flames might've reported Dube's mental health leave and none of what you said disproves what I said above. If Dube knew he was getting criminally charged, he doesn't have a criminal record as he's not been convicted so he could lie to the Flames so how would the Flames know of this? No criminal record means the Flames would not know of an upcoming criminal charge unless the player/his agent tells the Flames. Sure, the Flames can expect an upcoming criminal charge for Dube due to what was reported for this case in 2022, but how would the Flames know it's now and not in 2 or 3 more years if Dube doesn't tell them?
      Companies check for criminal records all the time. If there are criminal charges, but no convictions, there will be no record of a criminal charge as anyone can be criminally charged. It doesn't mean the person did the crime so criminal charges aren't put on a person's criminal records (unless he's been convicted of something else). Flames aren't able to check for criminal charges for someone who doesn't have a criminal record.

    I think what most likely happened here is Dube found out from his lawyer that there was going to be a big break in the case is the coming days and Dube told the team he wasn't going to play because his mind was to far from the game at this point. So he left because of mental health. The other 4 players left there Teams after they were ordered to report to London, ON. The news hit the media a day after it went down.

      If any or all are found guilty, I'm pretty sure the players found guilty will never see another day in the NHL again as this is pretty serious. It's also the reason why the Sens didn't want to resign Formenton. If any or all the players are not found guilty, then those found innocent will resume their hockey careers with their teams.

      @@camilomoscoso8200 Actually, Philadelphia, Colorado, Calgary, Ottawa, New Jersey are all going to fold within 3 years. This is just lawyer vultures picking off whats left before those teams go under. They are terminating contracts and putting the proceeds into their own pockets.
      Thats why Gauthier never went to Philly. The team is about to fold. There is no stopping higher interest rates now and its going to decimate at least 10 nhl teams.
      The luxury of 2 teams within a province or state is over. There are way too many teams in the nhl. Even Edmonton is just basically 3-4 players and a bunch of ahlers.

      I don't think these 4 NHL players will have their teams cut ties with them before the verdict is in (unless their contracts are up). If their contracts are up and the verdict is still not in yet, then I can see the NHL teams cutting ties with them.

I believe in innocent until proven guilty, but that doesn't mean they're innocent (nor does it mean they're guilty) as we, the public, don't have any knowledge of what really went on. However, I heard there is video evidence. There are real victims of SA and there are women who make up false accusations as well. We don't know which side of the 2 this case falls on so a statement like yours is premature and "might" be very incorrect.

      @@mikemcgee3636 The woman did go to the police, but everything was buried by Hockey Canada (why they lost all their sponsorships and every board member was replaced) and this story resurfaced due to some investigative journalism and proceeded due to public scrutiny. Police had this buried because the case was "settled" (as rather it was a forced/coerced settlement is unknown) with Hockey Canada money.
      Charges look like they're going to happen now (regardless if it's 6 years later or not). Charges happen decades later in some cases so it's not about the time. Please do not assume that just cause there are cases of women accusing men of SA that it means every case is like that. There are real victims of SA and the women who make false accusations do indeed ruin it for the real victims and I think they should be charged and imprisoned for making false accusations. This might or might not be one of them.
      Having said all that though, there is no way the 5 players would take indefinite leaves from their teams if this wasn't serious and that charges aren't going to get laid. There seems to be video evidence and if there is, these 5 players are pretty f'd. Anyways, you shouldn't be making assumptions that this woman is making up false accusations nor should we assume that the players are automatically guilty. We can only go by whatever the outcome is going to be and at this point, we can't be making assumptions either way.
      Edit - like to use 2 recent examples here where we need to wait instead of jumping to conclusions either way.
      1) Johnny Depp and Amber Herd - Johnny was innocent and AH made up a lot of false accusations
      2) Jonathan Majors and former girlfriend - Majors was found guilty of assault on his ex-gf so now Disney/Marvel has cut all ties with him.
      See, 2 recent cases with 2 men being accused of assault and one was innocent whereas the other was guilty. We don't know rather these 5 hockey players are guilty or innocent as we don't have knowledge/evidence of the truth. The courts will decide that with whatever evidence they're provided with.
