Easily the best round table this year for me.. I have watched all FC and Galatta plus ones.. good panel members and the discussion was very organic.. anchor was not trying to impress anyone with any over smart questions.. some very good points from almost most of the directors..

4:50 Pushkar made a good point. Every industry survives on the volume of work, everyone needs to get some work. Work needs to happen and we cant just have these star studded and good films being produced. For the industry to run even mediocre or bad films need to break even soo that the entire industry thrives. Since the audience matured i think even oyr quality of filmmaking has to grow, Even our mediocre films need to be decent

20:20 - Vadhandhi web series ah dha indirect ah elarum solitu irukanga. It was hand-crafted for ott. Based on the ott's conditions, the script has been changed based on what people watch the most. For example, there should be a metric set by the ott that more people prefer to watch 18+ scenes in ott. So, they have deliberately included a few episodes for it even though the script doesn't require it. It was molded for ott based on metrics, which is not healthy, and good cinema will die because ott will keep on asking directors to fit the story into the formula they give. So no new ideas will be made into films. It will be all the same shit as before. And one more thing that's happening in the ott world is fake reviews. The main aim of the creators nowadays is to maintain an 8+ imdb score. So why not fill it with fake reviews! A very dangerous approach for cinema, fooling the audience, until they become clever.
I think promotion is much important. I watched nitham oru vanam, kanam on theatres which was really amazing. But I did not find any buzz or promotion about that movies before that movie was released.
Parthiban, Rajiv Menon, Rathnakumar had some failure recently But they will come back for sure. Form is temporary, class is permanent My expectations : Rajiv Menon - Commercial Feel good emotional drama like Kandukondaen Parthiban - Proper commercial film without much experiment, with Vadivelu super Rathna - Romantic comedy
It looks like T. J. Gnanavel’s has not seen movies like Thallumala, Beeshma parvam and Rorschach.. I felt the same nerve-racking experience as Vikram when I watched Beeshma parvam. And the irony is that Gnanavel’s Jai bhim is a content driven movie. Its just that Malayalam movie industry make all kind of movies, but we are not celebrated or celebrate ourself like every other industry.
Malayalam doing all kind of movies? 🤨...I don't deny the Malayalam industries prowess in natural and realistic films....But I can't find a variety of genre films like in Tamil viz,.. science fiction/time travel films like( indru netru nalai, 24) that too done by a main stream actor like Surya....or any horror films (demonte colony, Maya) sports genre films ( sarpatta, jeeva, venila kabadi kuzhu) social thriller films (adanga Maru, velaikaran, irunbuthirai) psychological thrillers( anthakaram) psycho thrillers (ratsasan)or any commercial film take in-case with Vikram too will not be done in a effective way in Malayalam,... haven't seen bheesma parvam (would love to) seen thallumala loved it to core...but Malayalam films in my perspective always stick to a one dimensional way of showing their films, it's not bad in anyway.
At the same time one can expect quality films in Malayalam time to time unlike Tamil...but they haven't still undergone the variety of genres that too successfully executed like in Tamil... ☮️

They have only around 600-800 theatres and we have around 1500+ here. So they can't invest too huge. Kannada people have Banglore, Telugu - Hyderabad but Malayalam doesn't have a very big single place market where they can promote and derive huge profits. Let's wait n see bro.
@@Michael_017 I loved both minnal murali and churuli , but these films are done post pandemic, after knowing the nerves of fans but I am talking about Tamil cinema that has been doing experimental films since last 10 years successfully...if that's the case even Tamil films are also doing natural and realistic films, but Malayalam films are known to do it well to reach across the masses that is what I am coming to say.... but I have to accept promotions and budgets has always been a hindrance for Malayalam films...when it comes to promotions Telugu films hits it out of the park, with its greater than life contents...

Ganavel was good and great at his vision and understanding. Ratha was normal but others was just in the name of Liberalism hiding in there comfort zone as they are safe and they don’t have issues. We cannot compare Marvel franchises with Indian movies which means Indian movies are best in their own but not in par with Hollywood movies. Even now James Cameron can make a three hour movie and people go to theaters and watch if you have good content then no one can stop. Secondly music went national even before what Rajiv said probably he is in anemia he has watch some of old interviews of SPB where he said when Illairaja was recording in Mumbai people didn’t like as it was not easy so before only music reach Nation and Illaraja took music to nation. All are just behind star directors like Puskar Parthiban etc Ganavel was right in his talks no biased talk to Favoritism for anyone. One of the biggest masala movies were KGF and pusha was telegu versions of KGF, nothing great about the movies including RRR another super duper worst masala. Nothing what is great in this masala movies nothing 😳. Kargi, Jai Bheem, Sila Nerangali silla manidargal, witness, Tannakaran, Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, Thiruchitrambalam, Nenjuku Needhi etc. best movie made in 2022 with no doubt is Kadaisi Vivasayi.
