Jack McGee never showed up in the last two remaining Hulk TV movies after The Incredible Hulk Returns afterwards although he was played by Jack Colvin who later played the Doctor in Child's Play
Jack Colvin suffered a stroke after the filming after the filming of The Incredible Hulk Returns, and was never seen again, although I would have loved to see his face when he sees the Hulk lying on the runway after being blown out of the plane, and changing back to Banner for the last time before he dies.
@Kevin Miller - You know what, MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. After all, I was very sad that Jack Colvin lost the chance for a final appearance as "Jack McGee" in "The Death of The Incredible Hulk" and I am even disappointed that there was no mention of the character's fate in that TV movie as well.
Jack McGee was a big part of the show. there should have been a final confrontation between him and the hulk even if using a different actor when Colvin got sick after doing Return, that story needed an ending.
Jack Colvin was a good, reapected actor...he brought a lot to the role of Jack McGee. I remember in Prometheus, when he's trying to convince Monte Markham's character not to corner the Hulk. He said something to the effect "if your men go charging in there like the 1st 8 bars of Tiger Rag, he'll tear this place apart!" A comical line, but i loved the delivery of it! RIP John Colvin
Thank you for putting this together for IH fans like myself, who have enjoyed the series. One note, I was able to watch the entire IH TV series for free through the IMDB app and the Sci Fi app, with the IMDB being the better option. A few additions, the Jack McGee character's last appearance on the IH series was in season 5, the final abbreviated series' episode "Triangle", with Charles Napier making his second appearance in the IH series (and him being the voice/growl of the Hulk) and Mickey Jones making his third appearance in the IH series. Coincidently, this "Triangle" episode was also one of the few that had a love interest character for the the David Banner character. I agree with many fans, that I wish the series was able to resolve the many plots issues relating to the IH, and I did not care for the 3 post series IH movies, which came across as comic-book drive, and abandoned the successful formula of Kenneth Johnson and his staff. There used to be a great IH series website that really went into great detail on the IH series, as a whole.
It would have been great if the Hulk TV series had had a proper final episode, and even better if Jack McGee were finally held to account for his true role in causing the explosion that killed Banner's love interest.
@@tvcrazyman I agree it would have been interesting for McGee to realize he caused the explosion that killed Banner's friend and co-worker..........maybe by being hypnotized and seeing more of what happen......McGee never knew he bumped into the bottles he knocked over.
Jack McGee deserved a proper ending. He appeared in most episodes and whilst we did see his character evolve over time, it still feels incomplete without a proper ending whatever that may have been.
🧟♂️ I just finished watching the entire series, I adored the episodes focusing on Magee, like Stop the Presses, it's a real shame that his character never had a final resolution... finally appearing in the Hulk Returns... He should've appeared in the Death of the Hulk & finally seen David Banner before a dramatic death... A poetic, if tragic, end. His character deserved a solid ending, great character 🧟♂️
I like that Jack McGee is the show’s version of General Ross since both men are obsessed with capturing the Hulk. Still I like how Jack McGee is his own separate character with his own goal that doesn’t involve killing the Hulk to gain it’s power. I wish McGee appeared in Death of the Incredible Hulk and see his reaction to finding out David is the Hulk. Alongside Billy Bixby, may Jack Colvin rest in peace.
@@bradleyj.fortner2203 he never knew. He couldn't put it together that the man who changed to the Hulk was actually banner. The pilot has banner and his lady colleague talk about the Hulk as a separate person.
@@sirorliktheironclad You're right, Jack was not a bad person, he was just obsessed with catching the Hulk to be famous and have his own newspaper, but he never wanted to kill him or torture him, not like General Ross, who can be considered a villain since he tortured him. locked up without caring about other lives in order to put an end to him, what a father what happened to Betty Ross😑😑
I previously believed Jack McGee to be a villain but when I saw the episode where they have a moment of friendship with David (of course without him knowing) he says his motivations as to why he wants to hunt down Hulk but he never wanted to kill him or harm him unlike General Ross. That he is a villain since he has tortured him, locked him up, conspired against Bruce Banner, even ruined his career by becoming the Red Hulk.

3:30. Even though Banner's face is covered with bandages, why didn't McGee recognize his voice? Of course, Banner would not have let McGee remove the gauze that covered his face.
That's a good point, but maybe McGee didn't really know Banner long enough to recognize his voice. I do kind of think in real life an investigative reporter would have put the pieces together though. You have the voice, then there's the fact John Doe was the same height, same build, same hair color, and the time he ran into David, but David pretended to be his gangster doppelganger. But, McGee not knowing it was Banner made for great television.😀
In the beginning of that episode, Banner's voice was raspy due to the accident. As his voice came back, McGee probably didn't connect the voices. That, or plot armor. 😂
This video was greatly needed. Too bad he couldn't have had a few episodes dedicated totally to him like how the X-Files would do for it's characters. I admit, I would not have liked them compared to the Hulk episodes, but X-Files showed it could be done and be entertaining. Just not as entertaining as the actual characters we tune in for.
I think it could be argued that McGee was a stand-in for Ross, but on the other hand they were going for a classic Tv Fugitive style series so Ross may not have even been thought of when developing the series. Toward the end, I mention Jackie McGee. I have to wonder if rights issues keeps the comics from being able to present the TV version of McGee to comics, otherwise I bet they would have added the character to comics way back in the 80's.
@@tvcrazyman right well watching this made think that McGee is more J.Jonah Jameson,Eddie Brock and Harry Osborn because they are both obsessed with and hate Spider-Man with a passion and are also these self righteous hypocrites, but I wonder if they could have used the other villains like the Leader, Abomination,Xemnu the living Hulk etc cause also for once that Hulk’s dad is a good guy in this show.

I am curious about what the next segment relating to the "Incredible Hulk" TV series would be. How about the bloopers and outtakes from the series someday? I am sure that it would make TH-cam viewers laugh so much, especially most of the bloopers related to Bill Bixby and his way of being a funny guy in certain moments.
That would be fun to do. I do have a couple of videos that are about the occasional goofs they made with editing or effects here and there. I did mention the time Bixby called Jack McGee, John once in this video th-cam.com/video/NPTqkAG_pQs/w-d-xo.html . i've seen the times Bixby goofed lines though and he was funny. Sometimes watching the Hulk you can forget that Bixby started out on a comedy like My Favorite Martian which is another one of my favorite shows.
In Death of the Hulk Magee should have been there when the Hulk transformed back into Banner. After all. Magee believed the Hulk killed Banner and Elaina in the lab explosion.
Since Kenneth Johnson didn't fully want to copy the comics, it would seem that instead of General Ross hounding the Hulk,we get a character who hounds the Hulk in a slightly different capacity. Clearly, he resembles Ross in this way, albeit Ross knows who the Hulk is at some point in time. Jack would, unfortunately, never get to know who the identity of the Hulk really was. I guess they didn't want to continue with the character by the time the second and third movie. Had he stuck around, perhaps the third movie he'd find out and write about it in Banners death. That would have been an interesting conclusion of the series. To see the article saying David Banner never died years ago, he was the Hulk the entire time, and now is at rest at last,or is he. I say that because of what might have been a fourth movie had Bill Bixby not passed away with the talks about a fourth movie.
I bet budget may had something to do with not having General Ross and the army after the Hulk all the time. It might have been cool though if they put him in the Prometheus episode. It would have definitely been nice to have had Jack McGee's reaction to the death of the Hulk.
@Tvcrazyman yes they should have used him in that particular episode. Again, it might have something to do with the rights of usage. It would have been interesting to see him, and who knows if it could have been another episode in the years after or even the TV films.
Agree. I prefer McGee a little more than Ross but he’s more of a villain than McGee at the same time I think McGee is an idiot for never putting together that David and the Hulk are the same person through all of his encounters with Hulk/John Doe especially in Broken Image. At least McGee isn’t an obsessive psychopath who is overprotective of his daughter and turns himself into the thing he sought to destroy.
