Cheers, Progress has slowed due to the cold weather and I’ve ran out of memory on the phone but I’ll come up with something to get it finished and filmed.
I done many of the same jobs when I first got my van before I started to film stuff. I was lucky only needed a small bit of welding, grand job of the fabrication, welding and new panels 🤙🤙🤙
I’m nearly coming to the end of cutting out the rot, last stage is the sliding door cill and door itself but the weather has turned and I’m having to build a shelter to cover the van so I can carry on 🥶
H thanks for doing all these videos I have followed it all the way through I have just put mine through it’s mot failed big time on welding I will be doing it myself can I just ask how did you attach the outrigger? Poodle welding, tacked on or fully welded thanks
I had to reconstruct quite a bit of the sections above them so I firstly bolted it together as the shapes are difficult to replicate then plug welded them, that’s how they are as factory, plug welded. Make sure to bolt them on to the front slam panel section also which seats them in the correct place before doing any welding.
@@pdubs7831 hi thanks for your quick reply I’ve got the same problem above now I’ve just removed what was left of the outrigger and found more rot above looks like I will have to remove washer bottle and air filter now thanks again for your reply I am now feeling your pain with all the welding and I am outside as well to make things worse it’s coming into winter and living in the north west uk it’s cold as well
Hi buddy, only just started to watch your channel, great work that is/was some undertaking did you sort that little cubby next to c/lighter, if not I have one spare. Ihave same alarm/c locking as you (not fitted yet) does the wiring go under van. Les ( Torquay )
Hi Les, I’m either going to have it as a switch panel or make a deep cubby for putting my phone in but thanks for the offer. I’ve not yet either put the central locking in, no reason for any of the wiring to go outside of the van. I’ll be putting the control module in the dash then cables for side doors are right there to go through the bellows to the doors. Sliding door and tailgate cables will follow existing cables up the ‘A’ pillars along the roof behind the panelling. Thanks for watching and your support 🤙
@@pdubs7831 Hi, thank's for reply,I have already done most of my cabinets so was in too minds where to run cables, van was already lined etc: so will have to cut & repair, my van is 2002 T4 fortunately no rust as it was galvenised. Still loads to do, split charge/ change d/heater /240v also swap double pass seat for single. Les (Torquay)
You get a thumbs down for rubbing it in 😁, the saga continues with mine, I’ve had to build a temporary shelter over the van and I’m taking parts off into the garage to work on with a heater to take off the chill 🥶
Many people would have thought that was a scrapper, you've done an astounding job.
Thank you, it’s been a tonne of work but it will hopefully be something really special when it’s finished 👍
Incredible work even if done in a well equipped workshop, but on your driveway. You're a legend, well done.
Wow, thanks!
Sweet Jesus, that thing was rotten! Great work fella, can't wait ti see the finished thing.

Incredible and thorough job
So skilled and patient- look forward to seeing this project finished!
Absolutely amazing!!!
Keep it up, don't give up what you started. It is interesting to see the finished result.
Thanks for the encouragement, I’m looking at my long list of jobs left to do, something I can take off and work in my garage on out of the cold 🥶
@@pdubs7831 Patience and health!
I leave this under every video I watched, it helps the algorithm...
Wow. Can't believe it was this rotten. Great job pal👍
It was an absolute rot bag. 😫
All credit to you and your workmanship. That van was well past it's best...... I'd have bought a newer one 😂😂
Great metal fabrication and welding bud!

Perfect job man!
Hi. Do you have any more footage of the outrigger fitting at all? I’ve got one to fix and maybe two 😬
Hi Stephen, I do have a couple of pictures and one video clip from when I did them but not a lot, I’ll see if I can put something together
@@pdubs7831 that would be fab! Thank you!! 👍
