Listening to Carrie Fisher say that the fans should get a life pisses me off because her career came about because of Star Wars.
The only other movie I remember her being in is the Blues Brothers.
She should have been thankful for every time she got a royalty cheque in the mail.

She's not wrong though. Some take it way too seriously. Look how a certain group of "fans" treat George as an example. There's a difference between not liking something and accepting it's not for you versus trying to ruin someone's reputation over movies you don't like. Some "fans" don't see the difference.

@@zoetropeguardian the point is her fame came from those Fans so bad mouthing them on camera shows how unprofessional she was.
If she hadn't have got the role she would had remained a unknown actress so despite what she personally thought about the fans.
She should have thanked them every day for making both herself and the movie famous.

I hate to break it to you but fan culture is very toxic and people have a right to their opinions even if you disagree with them. Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Mark Hamill, and Harrison Ford have said more or less the same thing at one point or another in other documentaries like this one (or interviews) that the fans are freakish at times. I guess you're going to be annoyed at them too and say they should be grateful.
Carrie would've been fine without Star Wars. Maybe not a global star but just fine in her own right as she was a made star from the beginning. She was the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher after all. She wrote many award winning novels as well as wrote the screenplay for Postcards from the Edge based on one of the said novels. She also starred in When Harry Met Sally and Shampoo. Just because you don't know these things doesn't mean she should keep quiet. She didn't owe anyone anything. No one making art owes you anything in general. It's absurd that people feel ownership over what they can and can't say. They're people just like us.

Hated the jubilee, being made to dress up in red white and blue, still think Royalty is a load of bollocks now, it's anachronistic.
