The smile on your face from 4:37 to 5:00 was great!!! I was 22 years old when this song was released in 1992 and honestly they don't make much music like this anymore!! Glad to see another generation appreciating an amazing, underrated group!!

That song is timeless, was written by Keith Sweat and still is and always will be one of the greatest R&B songs ever recorded. Unconditional Love by Hi Five is another song I love from that era.
Hey Shawny! Nice selection! For me Silk wasn't over looked at all. It just the field was crowded with good R&B groups and singers! Everybody brought their A game. We had groups like Jagged Edge, Next, Shai, Hi-5, Blackstreet, Tony Tony Toné, Mint Condition, Guy...they were all on fire! How could you choose one over the other? For except from New Edition, I didn't. I loved them all.

I don't know who said that they were over shaowed by those groups 🤔??? They definitely wasn't by any group. Silk held their own. They had hits that were 🔥🔥🔥🔥and they still perform till this day. You haven't even scratch the surface of Silk's catalog of hits.

Boyz II Men Jodeci came out in 91 .. Silk and Shai came out in 92/93 .. so the resurgence of R&B groups that could truly sing started in 91, so as more and more groups came out the O.G.s at that time stayed on top of the game as far as popularity, but in the 90s it a bunch of groups and sngers so its prob hard to imagine the landscape as compared to now ..
I was in this time lol...Jodeci came first, but I had both tapes😂😂

To answer your question, in truth, Silk's self-titled sophomore album wasn't a huge hit and they lost some steam in the midd 90s. But they came back with their 3rd album in 1999, which has 2 of their most memorable songs - If You and Meeting in my Bedroom.
No group was bigger than Boyz II Men. They sold boyband level records, which made them an anomaly. Generally, black R&B vocal groups do not crossover the way they did.

Yes! Yes!! I was one of them that requested this!! Thank you soooo much!! This song use to have my mind gone lol 😂 Trust they were hitting hard back then. Their second album was ok and the group began having problems with the label and Keith Sweat. They were up their though. The song “You” is a vibe as well. “Happy Days” is a faster song by them. Oh “Freak Me” “If U” and “Meeting in My Bedroom”. Man…my teenage years lol 😂
