Hope by now you're out of it (ive been dealing w depression for 6 years/since I was 15) and this song truly guides me through those tough times. Hope all is well ❤️
I'm drifting in deep waters Alone with my self-doubting, again Try not to struggle this time For I will weather the storm I gotta remember (gonna remember) Don't fight it (don't fight it) Even if I (even if I) Don't like it (don't like it) Somehow, turn me around (somehow, turn me around) No matter how far I drift Deep waters (deep waters) Won't scare me tonight
I've listened to this song a lot over the years and it's represented a lot of different thing to me over time. When my dad died it spoke to my depression and anxiety. When I got into psychedelics I literally sung myself out of a trip going bad with these lyrics. Hearing it this morning made me think of what so called illegal immigrants are going through. The water is deep for them right now they're going through much more than they should have it to. Chances are they're not watching this and will never see my support. I just hope they know there are some of us who hope they weather the storm....
As someone who has a ukulele and depression I think I do understand that. A sweet little song about depression can help you through the darkest bits - thanks Portishead!
I...love this song. Very unique in portishead's catalogue. Though she's singing about overcoming a painful state of mind or situation, it is possibly their most uplifting song. Thank you for the animation. My only suggestion would be to add characters to the backing vocals. As someone mentioned the starfish...or perhaps some crabs. :) Well done.
Definitely sounds a lot like Tonight You Belong To Me- which happens to be a favorite of mine. This song is probably my favorite off the whole album all the same :)
This is so cool, i was waiting for someone to create a fantastic visual piece for what i believe to be one of the best tracks from Third, nice one, loadsa love, neill x
Heh I kind of thought that aswell. The rest of the album is really dark and it's though she's just "letting the listener know" that she's just exploring the dark stuff but really it's all love and peace in her heart and not to worry.
please please, for version 2.0 make the water go up and take the singing girl with it. Also, the chorus could be some sea creatures (like crabs, mm yummy) the entire third album should be animated by you =3 nice work
You fool.... Obviously there's been an advert before the song and you've assumed the advert IS the song. That is the only explanation because Beth Gibbons is an amazing singer.
I don't know whether to cry, laugh, or kill myself.. It puts me in a peculiar dream like place where you are stuck in limbo, but it's okay because beth's voice will sing until the never occurring sleep shall come so one can finally rest.
Heh I know. But this tool was talking about how Coldplay started in the 80s and Radiohead started in the 90s (having stole Coldplay's sound). Funny as fuck considering he seemed to have mixed up the words "Coldplay" and "Radiohead". His statement would be quite accurate if he just swapped the mentions of "Coldplay" and "Radiohead" around.
Heh personally I didn't hate that comment I loved it. I am a fan of ridiculous comments. Like one time there was a guy talking about how Radiohead are a Coldplay rip off and have been around alot longer than them. Epic levels of stupidity and bad taste make me laugh.
I always got a suicide feeling from this song, specially in that part "gotta remember, don't fight it" and the backing vocals sounds so off from the melodic voice of Beth wich can be perceived as a mental disorder telling her to do something terrible, but I guess that was me at the time, right now, it's just a weird song to me
I’m drifting in deep water Alone with my self-doubting, again Try not to struggle this time For I will weather the storm I gotta remember (gotta remember) Don’t fight it (don’t fight it) Even if I (even if I) Don’t like it (don’t like it) Somehow, turn me around (Somehow, turn me around) No matter how far I drift Deep waters (deep waters) Won’t scare me tonight
struggling with depression. songs like these are a salve for the soul.
Hope by now you're out of it (ive been dealing w depression for 6 years/since I was 15) and this song truly guides me through those tough times. Hope all is well ❤️
there's something so unbelievably haunting about this song
i wonder what it is!!!!!
Those ghost vocals are amazing
Those backing vocals are so haunting.
This is one of the only things I've gotten all teary eyed up about so quick.
This track transitioning into Machine Gun is so incredibly moving and intense
Machine gun kelly?
I'm drifting in deep waters
Alone with my self-doubting, again
Try not to struggle this time
For I will weather the storm
I gotta remember (gonna remember)
Don't fight it (don't fight it)
Even if I (even if I)
Don't like it (don't like it)
Somehow, turn me around (somehow, turn me around)
No matter how far I drift
Deep waters (deep waters)
Won't scare me tonight
❤
this makes me feel warm inside. minimalism is beautiful.
Listening this album has been one of my best trips.
Grandmother just died this week and this song is on repeat in my head for no reason causing me to randomly break down and cry
i can hear Machine Gun after this. ;)
💗💗💗
Heck yeah
Everytime

This song is too short but....
RULE #32: ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS.
Prince Jones Actually that's rule #34.

This song flows into Machine Gun so perfectly.
This is so cool, i was waiting for someone to create a fantastic visual piece for what i believe to be one of the best tracks from Third, nice one, loadsa love, neill x
my favorite song off the album!
This is too darn sweet...! Love it!
What a beautiful animation :) I loved the song since the 1st time I heard it and now I love it even more, thank you!
My current anthem.
Heh I kind of thought that aswell. The rest of the album is really dark and it's though she's just "letting the listener know" that she's just exploring the dark stuff but really it's all love and peace in her heart and not to worry.

This song sounds like something I would hear in a old Disney cartoon
Sounds like the song "Tonight You Belong to Me". Check it out.
cute song. cute video. that is all.
please please, for version 2.0 make the water go up and take the singing girl with it. Also, the chorus could be some sea creatures (like crabs, mm yummy)
the entire third album should be animated by you =3 nice work
you really haven't got it, compared to rest of the P3 album, this is the darkest track of all.
@PencilFighting
i have always thought she was singing about depression or her own personal mental state, whatever it might be.
I could totally see this in a scary movie trailer
when you´re flying, remain calm at all times...

My life.
+Sung Malakai I just laugh hysterically and hit myself repeatedly over the head with a big fluorescent pink rubber hammer. Life is good.
That's portishead for ya
well at least i'll have something to play in my head when I'm drowning lol
personally i think this song is beautiful
@theGanonify Which is also a very awesome song! :D
Excelente video!!!!
hasta se parece a Kenia, verdad warashonaaaa?

yes it is
Is that music ukulele's canon? it sounds in 1979 y. movie "The Jerk" , at 48 min. Hmmmm.....
i thought its sorta about taking a risk. and just let if flow, get hurt etc
maravilhoso
watching zooey deschanel and ben schwartz reminded me of this
@assassinator7 yeah, that's how I had interpreted it.
This song reminds me of Steven Universe song called Ruby Rider
this is fucking hilarious if you listen to the rest of the album.
This song is the darkest track of all? What makes you think that (I'm not disagreeing with you, just curious)
i know, totally agree, the simple things often are the most beautiful. just came across it, if you like it, check out "maya mogambo", top stuff.
can someone please combine this song + rainy mood + 1 hour loop?
Heh personally I didn't hate that comment I loved it. I am a fan of ridiculous comments. Like one time there was a guy talking about how Radiohead are a Coldplay rip off and have been around alot longer than them. Epic levels of stupidity and bad taste make me laugh.
somebody is having a bad trip
maybe because its something out of mind, compare to the album! to me it was totally random :)
@AnRTPgA ?
@2011IsMyYearr Follow my voice, Dalton.
---respect---
aftff
@drawesome2000 well yes. we do hate this comment so go listen to justin beiber and leave us cool people here.

??
you don't get it.
my half assed cover th-cam.com/video/g4Tl_fXwa4Q/w-d-xo.html
"Moon Song" from Her totally copied this.
No, they are very different this song is IMA I7 IVMA IVmi. The moon song from "Her" is IImi V7 IMA
Just because it has a ukulele and a female singing, dosent mean they are the same song.
I really wish you didn't write that, I just vomited all over myself
a colplay rip off!? radiohead are nothing like coldplay, radiohead are amazing, coldplay are okay too i guess..
I’m drifting in deep water
Alone with my self-doubting, again
Try not to struggle this time
For I will weather the storm
I gotta remember (gotta remember)
Don’t fight it (don’t fight it)
Even if I (even if I)
Don’t like it (don’t like it)
Somehow, turn me around
(Somehow, turn me around)
No matter how far I drift
Deep waters (deep waters)
Won’t scare me tonight
Thanks for the lyrics. Greetings from México City.
