Nice job, Cease! I feel like I know you now so can use a more familiar, shortened nickname. Let me know if I should back it back off to Ceci. But nice job, both of you! Davesy Babe, too.
That bass sound Cici got sounded so damn good, those tones on London Calling and Guns of Brixton were absolutely on-point. Would love to see them take on bands like ZZ Top, Primus, Aerosmith, NOFX, The Kinks or Billy Talent
@@michaelsnydermusic Yeah, the real challenge for that is trying to see what kind of 5- or 6-string/fretless bass and amp they can afford for the 1000 pounds
When you played that clip my eyes got wet... The Clash is my dads favourite band and he always talks about them and when he got to see them live in Rock in Athens 1985. Thats why music is magical, a couple of seconds from a song can bring out so much emotion and so many memories.
Every time I watch one of these I'm always blown away by Cici's bass tones. This episode is a great example of that; Dave starts London Calling "Yup that's the sound, nice one Dave" I say. Cici starts playing London Calling and suddenly I'm shot through multiverses, time and space, becoming cosmically aware and say "Holy fuck, that's a bass tone."
Interestingly, Joe Strummer would play bass whenever they did 'Guns Of Brixton' live and Paul Simonon would scratch away on Joe's Telecaster, not being able to play the bass line and sing at the same time. Joe plugged his 1966 sunburst Telecaster (sprayed with grey auto primer and black paint) directly into a Musicman 2 x 12" combo - no pedals. Famously Joe once said he wasn't interested in the 'fiddly bits' and was a lefty playing right-handed, which Mick once told me contributed to his sound. Enjoyed this guys, thanks !
When I was 14 years old (2000) my family moved to another state. I had a great guitar instructor for years and he bought me a going away present, the band that got him into playing guitar in the first place. The band was The Clash and the album was “London calling” on vinyl. Took my 14 year old brain years to really appreciate that album. 22 years later, I don’t miss a day without hearing a clash song rock my iTunes.
Another great Sound Like video from Dave and Cici. Just a point to note for those that don't know, the Joe Strummer Foundation is a great charity to get behind and support as well folks, well worth checking them out and seeing what all they do for young and aspiring artists and kids in general.
Nice to see my exact guitar and amp combination being used in such a great way and, unlike me, played properly for a change. Thank you! 🙂. Great bass playing and bass sound too of course 🙂 Keep up the great work team 🙂
It's stunning how good the Clash were. I knew they were great at the time. But seeing them stripped down in this video increased my admiration. Wonderful video.
Pure Tele joy. To an old 60's and 70's guy like me the breath of fresh air that Punk brought back to music after the suffocating stadium prog rockers was amazing . The rawness of the music cut through the dross in a primal way and brought the fun back to music and took it back to it's roots from the dead head bread heads only in it for the money. Kind of like what should happen again ? Both of you nail it.
It's great to see Dave and Cici really settling in to presenting these. Both seemed not exactly nervous but overwhelmed maybe in the first couple. Definitely come on in leaps and bounds. And it's wonderful seeing Dave so cheerful. He's definitely in a good place right now, and long may it continue. Great work as always you two. Keep having all the fun, and I'll add another vote to getting Dave (and Cici) to get in front of the Andertons cameras more. And we still need a Dave and Pete jam (unless I've missed it which would really get me grumpy 😂)
Hey - thanks for doing the clash. I love this run of sounds like. Cici and Dave are great at this 🙂 more punk and alternative/grunge/indie sounds like please 🙂👍
Yes OMG- Thanks you two so very much! Not only for representing one of the greatest Bands of all time, a British Punk Band no doubt, but also saving us from the otherwise seemingly never-ending Online Pentatonic Noodles!
Very cool video... The Clash has always been one of my favorite bands... great job! Though I'd love to see a Sound Like by breaking the bank version... with the black Tele, the right look in leathers and all and with an amp you can really kick the reverb tank into some of those classic punk rock sounds! They really broke all the molds and influenced so many bands inclucing The Police and U2! HAPPY NEW YEAR...BRING IT 2023!!!
I absolutely love this, I'm a huge Dave fan.....and Andertons. It would be great, of course if Dave wanted to, that he be a face we see (even) more often on the Andertons channel.
Superb sounds like, the best one yet...... Especially that song Tommy Gravey. Saw The Clash decades ago, the drummer Toppa comes from the same town as me and still lives here..... A brilliant band live, raw and in your face. Sex Pistols and The Damned next please...!
Right!….the next best thing to listening to The Clash is watching and listening to Dave and Cici play Clash songs. Brilliant episode. Looked like so much fun. Thanks everyone 👍🏻
Man, I love these "sound like" bits. Dave and Cici make me forget about my daily crapola, and life's not always so bad after all. Dave's humour always makes me laugh.
Would've been extra amusing to see them swap roles for Guns of Brixton exactly as Paul and Joe did live - the story being that Paul felt he couldn't do both the vocals and the bassline at the same time (though that may be apocryphal)
2 things: 1) Mick Jones played Les Paul during The Clash era but recently his weapon of choice is a thinline humbucker loaded Tele. A Tele with P90 could have been another "best of both worlds" option. 2) When they played "Guns of Brixton" live, Paul and Joe switched instruments. It would have been fun to see Cici with the Tele and Dave on bass.
Nice work. Engaging presentation. Excellent example of a thoroughly guitar driven but non widdly band. How about a John McGeoch edition (Siouxsie, Magazine)?
Can you guys do a sound like sublime? I can see you guys getting Bradley nowell’s amazing clean reggae/ska tone along with his Mesa distortion style tone for the punk parts. And for Eric Wilson’s deep and powerful bass tone I can see you guys executing this very well!!
Good call, Eric Wilson is one of the reasons I picked up the bass guitar. A fantastic player, criminally underrated. Brad, RIP,guy was pure magic, he was the soul of sublime, Bud was a fantastic drummer that could switch from reggae/dub to offbeat punk rock effortlessly. They might be one of the greatest bands that never reached their full potential.
I really appreciate that you guys do keep it under budget and lowered the budget compared to Matt and Rabea. I used to watch this series when first getting into music, and whilst I really did appreciate Matt and Rabea just having this series be a thing at all, £1500 and sometimes going over still felt extremely expensive for a teenager from a very working class area. The fact that you guys get consistently great tones and rigs for usually a good bit under a lower budget is amazing. Keep up the great work
Don't worry about going slightly over budget. Your predecessors in the sounds like scene not only set their "without busting" budget to 1500P, but they also went over budget on occasion. That said, it sounded great to me as a once-upon-a-time punk rocker. And Cici didn't compromise tone: The Talman basses are underrated beasts, and the Micro SVT is dynamite!
Without sounding cliche, these two are authentic people and that’s why we love them.
Another fun one to film, I love that mini Ampeg stack :)
Nice job, Cease! I feel like I know you now so can use a more familiar, shortened nickname. Let me know if I should back it back off to Ceci. But nice job, both of you! Davesy Babe, too.
I love Cici and Dave, please keep bring them back
Yes! More of these 70s-80s British "The" bands please. The Cure, The Specials, The Police, The Smiths, The Jam, The Stranglers.
And Magazine maybe. With Dave McGeoch and CiCi Adamson...
good shout!
Yes, do the stranglers!!!! Good luck getting JJ Brunel’s bass exact tone, how I have tried
I second the Police lol
Yes, all of the above, PLEEEEEEEZ!
Dave is so relaxed now on Andertons TV - really pleased Cici & Dave are having so much fun doing "Without Busting The Bank".
I kinda prefer them to matt and rabea in a way, no disrespect to them
That bass sound Cici got sounded so damn good, those tones on London Calling and Guns of Brixton were absolutely on-point. Would love to see them take on bands like ZZ Top, Primus, Aerosmith, NOFX, The Kinks or Billy Talent
Primus would be dope. By busting the bank of course!
@@michaelsnydermusic Yeah, the real challenge for that is trying to see what kind of 5- or 6-string/fretless bass and amp they can afford for the 1000 pounds
Did Dave kidnap this young girl?
Awesome duo, I love these videos!
Paul Simonon spit on me during a show in Detroit in '82. It's one of my fondest memories.
Ha Ha fantastic.
you guys really hit it off in those "sound like ... " videos. I'm impressed and I like it. Respect !!!
Absolutely nailed that. That could be number one sound like that's been done. Everything is on point. Thank you Cici, Dave and Andertons.
Dave and Cici are a wonderful addition to this channel. Subbed.
Dave is amazing. Cici is amazing. Dave and Cici are AMAZING.
When you played that clip my eyes got wet... The Clash is my dads favourite band and he always talks about them and when he got to see them live in Rock in Athens 1985. Thats why music is magical, a couple of seconds from a song can bring out so much emotion and so many memories.

These two mesh so well together can’t wait to see more with out breaking the bank with these two!!
Another great Sound Like video from Dave and Cici. Just a point to note for those that don't know, the Joe Strummer Foundation is a great charity to get behind and support as well folks, well worth checking them out and seeing what all they do for young and aspiring artists and kids in general.
Would love to see Dave as a perment addition to Andertons, such a genuine guy and has the skills to match. Cici also knocks it out the park!
Nice to see my exact guitar and amp combination being used in such a great way and, unlike me, played properly for a change. Thank you! 🙂. Great bass playing and bass sound too of course 🙂 Keep up the great work team 🙂
I find myself looking forward to these videos now. Well done as always.
Dave, you are cool dude, you are one of those folk who are cool by just existing. The Clash are my time period, enjoying this.
Love these two as presenters! The format of this is brilliant as well, absolutely nailed the tone with this one.
It's stunning how good the Clash were. I knew they were great at the time. But seeing them stripped down in this video increased my admiration. Wonderful video.
It sounds like The Clash!!! You really nailed it, Cici and Dave...
Did Dave kidnap this young girl?
Both rigs nailed it - and great presentation!
Dave and Cici make a great team for these. Would love to see this more often!

@II__DAVE__II That's what the news report says
You sound great together. You are great presenters. I get all the information about the products. And a laugh.
Excellent.

great team, great tones, great video. Keep em coming. Billy Talent would be awesome next, was requested very often in the comments already too ;)
One of my favourite songs from the clash
i love seeing these two together. very entertaining
Dave sounder great as usual. To my ears, London Calling is the best I've heard Queenie sond on one of these. Well done.
Hey - thanks for doing the clash. I love this run of sounds like. Cici and Dave are great at this 🙂 more punk and alternative/grunge/indie sounds like please 🙂👍
Can,t get anymore Clash then that, great sound, great job.
Brillant! Awesome! And a million other complimentary words!
Love a Dave & Cici sound like video!
Nailed it on a budget that would of not been excessive for even The Clash! Great stuff guy and gal.
Awesome! Thank you for shating.
Loving these now, Dave was so nervous previously he just talked other Cici last few he's so so much better!
You two ROCK! And you both nailed it! Again!
Yes OMG- Thanks you two so very much! Not only for representing one of the greatest Bands of all time, a British Punk Band no doubt, but also saving us from the otherwise seemingly never-ending Online Pentatonic Noodles!
You watch the wrong youtubes :)
You're so great!! Awesome tones!! Try to sound like the cult one of these days, i been waiting forever hauahshau
great job Cici N Dave! always enjoy your sound like episodes!
The best one you've done guys.

G&ddamn do I love The Clash. That bass tone was incredible and I too need that Ampeg amp combo.
Great choice for a Sound Like artist!
Gotta love these two!
You nailed it! Luv ya!

Good to see you back mate 😊
Love this video. I just got the Micro VR stack and had a bit of a struggle with getting the Paul tone. You did a great job!
Nailed the tone and Dave your as cool as they come!
That was awesome! 😊
One of the best ones! Thanks :)
Man, I love these "sound like" bits. Dave and Cici make me forget about my daily crapola, and life's not always so bad after all. Dave's humour always makes me laugh.
London Calling to kick it off 😱. Effing Awesome. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Best sounds like ever. Absolutely nailed it. you 2are excellent
Dave is definitely the coolest guitarist on TH-cam 🤘🏽
Nailed it! Good job!
Really good Dave and Queenie !
Sounds like with bass really makes it
Favorite SLWBTB episode ever! Joe Is the MAN!!
But he wasnt the clash ...
London’s calling sounded amazing 👌🏼
Lookin good Dave 🤘
Great double act, nailed it. I'd like to see them do Pil Metal Box era and early Stranglers Hanging Around. Both distinctive iconic bass sounds.
These 2 are as mad as a box of Chipmunks but absolutely brilliant !! Fantastic video 😍🎸🎸👌🔥🔥🔥
Hoohray! It’s Dave and Cici❤
Ayyy! Great job guys. Was massively into the clash at school and nobody understood me haha! Glad you felt the same about Joe Dave!
Always thought the best song where sung by Mick to be honest Stay free etc
It's nice to see Dave and Cici settling in. I'd be happy to see more of them on the channel!
Would've been extra amusing to see them swap roles for Guns of Brixton exactly as Paul and Joe did live - the story being that Paul felt he couldn't do both the vocals and the bassline at the same time (though that may be apocryphal)
These two are made for eachother.
Great Video guys!!!!
...that bass sound cuts through REALLY well here ...unusual
Joe and Mick would approve I'm certain.
You nailed it again. Cici and Dave you're awesome
Would love a sounds like (Wilko era) Dr. Feelgood. Cheers.

time for a sound like Motley Crue so we can give Cici a Thunderbird
Well done guys, a good attempt a recreating the greatest songs written by mortal man.
I wanna be in Cici's band! Love you guys
I like the ongoing theme of Dave having a drink in his back pocket
when you guys do a sounds like you should just make a link to put everything from either rig into the basket on Andertons.
Cici for the win on this one!
Cici- ya hair looks so RAD! i dig it!

I think I am DMing you claim a prize.
W/o CiCi, Dave and Danish Pete this show would not be the same!
nice work
Yesssss!
Stop it Dave!! Your very cool 🤟🏼😎..... you guys are amazing never change 🤪 x
