The tension in this movie makes it so unnerving. You get endless wave after wave of it as Cooper is pursued. Yet for the most part, Cooper thrives despite the relentless effort to catch him. He's calm and seemingly logical. When he finally explains himself, that is the real twist, it's so insane. Hartnett gives a truly incredible performance.
