I had no idea they were real people, I thought they were just sctv characters, lol. thankfully for them they aren't nearly as crushingly dull as sctv had us believe, lol.
I saw these awesome entertainers at a small dinner show venue in 1968(ish) in Monroeville, Pa. and I was obsessed. Through the many years of many moves I have lost all of the records. Thank You You Tube!raf
This summer replacement series was filmed in London. Cheaper production costs perhaps? Young died about 10 yrs, but Sandler said that he tried to get copies of all the Kraft shows, but four are missing.
LOL!! My wife laughs at them and says they're "too corny". Ralph Young makes goofy embarrassing faces. They sing nice but would appear better if Young didn't make all those weird sissy looks. And sometimes as he was singing he would look at Tony like he was in love with him. My wife would laugh hysterically.
Well, Sandler and Young appeared once on SCTV's, 'The Sammy Maudlin Show' where Sammy essentially kicked them off the show with words to the effect..'Why don'cha jus' leave'...Bobby Bitman couldn't do the Krapt Music Hall thing an' as last minute subs...Sandlewood an' Jung...
I think the best is to put everything in perspective...We're talking entertainment from the sixties and seventies here... they were top of the bill that time and a smashing headliner in Vegas, Reno, Atlantic city and all over the USA and Canada for many years They sold millions of records for Capitol Records. They hosted 13 x the Kraft Music Hall TV show on national NBC in 1969, following hosts as Gene Kelly, Perry Como, Milton Berle, Adam West,... They were a dozen times on the legendary Ed Sullivan Show and even more in the Tonight Show then hosted by Johnny Carson, and numerous times on other tv shows s.a.Andy Williams Show, Dean Martin Show, Today Show, Merv Griffin Show, ...etc... that was then...now is now... BTW An Elvis Show from the 70ties looks also different than a U2 show nowadays…
OK I saw these guys an SC TV on TH-cam. And the one guy the way is always smiling it’s really kind of creepy. I checked out his biography on Wikipedia it said he was married and he’s got five kidsI never knew that I’m talked about Mr. Young and he lived to be 90 years old so good for him but I guess Mr. Sadler still alive and he’s 83 years old
When I was young I thought Sandler & Young were dorky. They do sing well. At least, we got to see Ella. I just wish they had given her a more challenging song to sing than "This Guy".
C’était un vrai bonheur d’écouter ces vidéos !!! Mille merci
J’adore!!!🙏👍
Ella une des plus grandes stars !! Quel honneur pour Tony!!
Yes, SCTV brought me here.
And all I can see is Eugene Levy and Martin Short in these men. :D
I had no idea they were real people, I thought they were just sctv characters, lol. thankfully for them they aren't nearly as crushingly dull as sctv had us believe, lol.
Agreed.
Ditto, landed on this in 2021 after the SCTV skit. I had no idea they were real people!
Ella!!!
Ella. Now that's real talent. I miss those days

That was Melonville -- not Monroeville. But yes, they really did swing.
I'm sorry to hear that. Condolences.
I saw them a few times both in Atlantic City and Baltimore. Great shows all.
Some of those records go for > $100
I like the sctv version.
I saw the SCTV version before I even knew who they were. Now I fine the spoof even MORE funny! Eugene Levy's impression is especially spot-on.
Which one of you is French?
I thought this was an SCTV sketch at first. This is much funnier.
Agreed!
The way the one guy smiling all the time he’s really kind of creepy
Yes but the SCTV sketch is also pretty damn funny
Also makes you really appreciate how perfect the SCTV version was, especially Eugene Levy.
Great keep S and Y material coming.
Sammy Maudlin was right..these two cats bring everybody down.
People were so easily entertained back then.
Is that just my imagination, or do those two cats bring everybody down?
“Well in that case why don’t you just leave…”.
their appearance on SCTV was the best!

Is it just me are do these 2 cats being everyone down?

Extra added attraction??
thesse guys need a spot on the Sammy maudlin show, and then they "might " make it

Which one of you guys is French?
Tony Sandler is Belgian born, Ralph Young was a New Yorker
...”...actually Sammy, I am from Belgium”.
Need a reason to turn on your television?
Ella Fitzgerald.
Need two reasons to turn off your television…forever?
Sandler & Young….
For some reason, Velveeta cheese comes to mind.
Does the Kraft company still in business

Three blind mice...
I can't believe these goons are real. With the Lego-Man hair and everything! Thank you SCTV.
Gilbert Godfried brought me here.
