You have really improved your information delivery in these I can tell your getting more comfortable doing these videos with alot less of the nervous laughter
When I first started I was super nervous, you should try it LOL. Now after nearly 400 videos I don't even think about it. I still have great videos and some that are not so good, I keep trying to improve every time.
@@ChrisHardwickanimaladventures no no no your videos are VERY good I've started breeding asfs and I've taken quite a lot of your advice thank you for your videos and also keeping them coming consistently with marked improvements
My het pied girl has a bluched head and is a light tan color and and a lot of blushing throughout the black. She keeps getting lighter after sheds and is very light now. Kinda like a vanilla
Dinker came from cars if you work on some cars its called tinker with a car so the breeder that started doing it with snakes changed it to dinker with a snake
Another informative vid, good work. I just purchased a male pastel clown, with no intentions of breeding anything at that time, well now I want more, what female would you start with to go with him?
Depends on what you're looking to spend. Also, what you're looking for in patterning and color. For instance, Enchi reduces the Clown pattern and makes them look like someone painted a stripe down their back and the paint ran (my personal favorite). Leopard makes spotted side patterns (shocker). Spotnose turns the alien heads into these crazy, squared patterns. Go do a search on morphmarket.com for Clown and/or Pastel Clown Ball Pythons and see what you like. Then find a female (or females) with the genes you want - and as Chris said, go for 100% het Clown (from a reputable breeder) to save yourself some money. ...or you could wait a couple years until my Clown project bears fruit and buy from me, Lol. Seriously though, just do your homework before you buy anything and be sure to check out the breeder really well. It's impossible to tell whether a snake is a het just by looking, so you should only buy those from breeders who have a reputation worth protecting (or breeders you've been following and have seen their pairings with your own eyes). Good luck!
think Rey is a dinker... he's developed white stripes going across his alien faces... He's a normal, almost a year old and has been shedding once a month like a champ and the striations didn't come out until his last shed... have you seen this before? ✌️ 🌎 ✊🐍
I got them cheap when I first started out, they really can bring in some cash when I sell their offspring. I'm going to eventually replace them with some of my holdbacks.
Normal ball pythons are still my fastest sellers. People tend to forget about the normal in my opinion they can be the most beautiful especially the gold blush line that Brian Gundy produces.
Normals are great to pair with snakes that may have hidden/indiscernable genes. When you start buying into 4+ gene combos, the waters can get pretty muddy. Many of those snakes get sold with "pos. [insert co-dom gene here]" tags because even the breeder isn't positive. Put it to a normal and you can usually suss out what's in it in one generation. Sell that clutch full of single/dual gene babies and you've paid for the food and bedding for your Normal. It's just good business. That being said, I'd just assume put it to a Clown and have a bunch of 100% hets with one or two co-dom genes but if you've already got some Normals, why waste them?
He is adorable. Comes right up to you...smooch❤
Beautiful necklace... I'd like to get one of those lol...Love your channel.. always great content...

Awesome video Chris....and awesome looking normals you have there...love messing with dinker projects...
Nice video Chris! Thanks for the info!
So many possibilities in ball python morphs!
I've heard many people call other combos dinkers that appear to have an unknown gene in them. It's interesting to see undiscovered genes come out.

Good explanation of the "dinker"
It would be exciting to have a new gene!
Google '' Freedom Breeder imports'' and click on the first link. Some of those have potential to be morphs. I'm going to try to get one soon!
Cool info on the dinker ..... wondering who cane up with
I think everyone has a dinker project lol. It’s what makes things interesting
Lmfao anyone else see the snake almost drown...nice reflexes chris
Dinker came from cars if you work on some cars its called tinker with a car so the breeder that started doing it with snakes changed it to dinker with a snake
I've been wondering what's in your hand a remote for something
That's the remote to start and stop my video camera.
Another informative vid, good work.
I just purchased a male pastel clown, with no intentions of breeding anything at that time, well now I want more, what female would you start with to go with him?
I'd probably get a het clown female with a bunch of other genes, would be cheaper than clown combos.

You talked about breeding offspring back into the mother for a super. Does inbreeding not cause issues in ball pythons?
Inbreeding in snakes is fine, it's not the same as other animals, or so I've heard...
If it's like other snakes, it slithers.
Take care and God loves you.
Hey Chris where can I purchase one of your ball pythons you have for sale
I only sell at local reptile shows here in Colorado.
@@ChrisHardwickanimaladventures really would like one in my collection from you .check out my page on Facebook @L.E.Exotics
Dinker came from mucking about with cars they called it tinker so for snakes they put dinker instead
I got a big beautiful normal sand just for this reason . Everyone was a little confused considering what I normally go for lol
Is dinker and "special" the same thing?
No, Special is actually a co-dominant gene.
I have taken genetics and molecular cell biology. Do you have suggestions for books that give terminology for snake genotype/phenotype topics?
No, not that I know of.

Why do you keep normals

so i have 4 "dinkers" then lol
