    “One in a Million” was her second album. So this interview took place when she just released her third album. Aaliyah was definitely a trendsetter. Every girl was trying to mimic Aaliyah’s style back then, Ik I was, lol

      @@ayeitsnouraofficialI personally met Aaliyah several years prior to her passing. She was very personable and honorable indeed. Aaliyah had a different quality to her that set her apart from anyone. She was highly intelligent 🧠 and very down to earth. I talked to her about her entertainment & music career. Aaliyah was gifted and genuinely cared to make a difference in the lives of people all over the world 🌎. Aaliyah had a lot of love to compassion in her heart for people and she wasn't biased or prejudice at all. She had alot of charisma and energy and truly was One in a million. You would have liked Baby Girl indeed. Her name derives from an Arabic name and meaning. God bless 🙏

    Aaliyah was young doing what she wanted to after growing up. She was one of the main trendsetters back then. Beyonce basically started doing this in 2013 by dropping a surprise album no promo or nothing on Friday and now everything drops music on Fridays now instead of Tuesday. As far as the baggy clothes SWV, TLC & Kriss Kross set that trend even know it was a black thing overall but Aaliyah had the baggy jeans with the Tommy Hilfiger tops

    So basically her music is not on digital platforms to buy or stream because her uncle & cousin barry & jomo hankerson have control over it. Her uncle made the label blackground which she was at her entire career. They are greedy & money hungry & turned on Aaliyah's immediate family. They don't want to give the rights to her family yet they don't want to release it for whatever reason that is still unknown. Clearly they have beef & ill feeling with the family and maybe even with Aaliyah tbh but who really knows.

    • @2damecuteUK
      @2damecuteUK 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The record label Blackground entertainment went bankrupt several years ago.
      a lot of the artist who were signed to the label want to be paid for there music rights.
      There’s a lot of unreleased music projects tied up in those legal cases.
      Gaining money from Aaliyah back catalogue could mean they have to pay those artists or give them publishing rights to their back catalogues.
      Artist like Jojo and Tank
      There also some legal issues about Aaliyah music and what happened with her and RKelly on the first album.
      You can stream Aaliyah first album on Spotify and some people have put her other tracks in mix collection under appears on.
      You can also buy digitally Aaliyah second album One In A Million on Amazon

    Yes Queen Aaliyah she was definitely a business woman, around this time she signed a Multi Motion picture deal with Warner Bros. Pictures, created a cartoon which she got green light and had a clothing line in the works...I love watching her interviews you should react to her MTV Stripped(2001) interview: m.th-cam.com/video/HeoF3a5GPzY/w-d-xo.html and her 106 & Park(2001) interview: m.th-cam.com/video/i91VUIYZiE8/w-d-xo.html this is my favorite era from her.

      @DajuanH. 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, the cartoon was based around the promo commercial and the “More Than A Woman” video. I was really excited about seeing her in “Some Kind of Blue” it was a love story based on interracial love set in the 1940s in New Orleans she was playing a Jazz musician daughter(the movie was shelved due to her passing though) we had the “Aaliyah” world tour, her forth album(she was already working on it), the Sparkle soundtrack and the Some Kind of Blue soundtrack all to look forward to, plus the other movies.

    Aaliyah first album was ‘age ain’t nothing but a number’ 1994
    Second album ‘one in a million’ 1996
    Final album was self titled ‘Aaliyah’ 2001
    She also sang soundtrack for movies
    Anastasia ‘journey to the past’ 1997
    Dr dolittle ‘are you that somebody’ 1998
    Romeo must die ‘Try again’ 2000
    DJ’s playing records in clubs were the gate keeps to a hit record. Radio and music video were free advertising for artist.
    It was a different time in music in the 90s - early 2000. Artist could release an album.
    the album would be promoted for a year and if it was a really good album it would be successful enough to be played on radio consistently until the next project 3-4 years later.
    The singles and album wouldn’t get released in every country at the same time. US releases could take up to a year to release in Europe and Asia.
    Success was based on People buying Vinly, tape and 💿 CD’s it was physical sells and radio plays.
    Thanks to the internet single and album release dates increased and became a lot faster. pirates sites and Napster leaked albums for free before there official release. So Apple iTunes allowed Full music downloads to be officially purchases and that why you can have a artist release 2-3 albums in one year today.
