I dont get why PA is hiding damage numbers anymore...people can see every hidden stat that they didnt want ppl seeing to micromanage their stats to min-max
They said quite a while ago that they won't put numbers because that would make players focus on the numbers too much and not "enjoy" the gameplay as much, and they don't want that. I think that's a valid point for bdo but again, some ppl will always want to see what their actual dmg number is.
@auggus7762 and i would say id 100% agree with that...however, in bdo people are more worried about numbers for that same reason...look at how many sources/sites we have that debunk all of hidden information that bdo wouldnt want ppl knowing so they didnt focus on numbers...people were using a green offhand because someone dug so deep into the numbers that it forced PA to make changes to other offhands because of it lol
It takes amity for that, though, and you will most likely want to buy multiple offhands since you'll want to upgrade them. It's cheaper to restore durability that way compared to using memory fragments. The vendors in Odraxxia sell the green offhands for raw silver instead of amity.
Dumbest system in the game.. Remove that garbage alrdy and make it more clear for everybody.. Not that I don't understand how its works, it's just way to complicated for no reason at all..

Just keep in mind guys, every class can have different names for the green offhands - easiest way to check is look at the central market for the one you need and compare the stats. There are AP versions, DP versions, and also Accuracy versions.

This was a burning question over the years that is left unanswer as I left BDO as to why nouver or my green off hand was still effective in star’s end despite my guildies advice to rack up as high AP as possible in order to maximize thrash loot posible. As a returnee, those green off hand I’ve kept for so long will be put to good use.
Hi Brothanks for the guides can I ask which artifact set is better when fighting human monsters. 2x Extra Damage to Monsters + Lightstone Set Effect - The Wild +12 Damage to Humans or 2x Extra Damage to Monsters + Lightstone Set Effect - Savage: All AP+9. You stated that specie damage is 85* effective then when I'm fighting human enemies then the wild would be equivalent to 12*.85 =10 vs Savage's All AP + 9? Or does All AP + 9 add to Total App + 9 and also to additional damage to Humans another + 9, Kamasyliva +9 etc. Hope you can help ty. I have seen in a forum that All AP affects melee, range and magic when I am playing awakening Drakania which uses a shard in offhand and in Awakening slot a spear, when I use a skill which uses the Shard in the animation(whereas the animation using the shard seems to be like a long range shot not a melee like when using the spear) would the All AP Lightstone Set be better when I use that particular skill(Sundering Roar) that uses a shard.

Its all easy info, the only thing left to understand is cases where you are under cap and left with a decision between, lets say, frenzy and giant. 25 more ap vs 10% back attack? Or lets say jade starlight with relatively low cap, its more tough to compare. Frenzy draught vs giants. While capped 25 ap bonus from frenzy is only 7.5 while giants still 10 back attack. 3rd case in which youre not capped at orcs, green sub vs kutum, where kutum is somewhat 25 or so ap more and green is just special attacks
just grind and have fun, in the end of the day, the one who plays more hours will make more money... this AP cap make more confusion than help, just grind and thats it, changing your weapon will make what? 1k more trash, no even close to that, u will make more money with rare itens... for the elixir is the same, just use what u like to, if u die a lot use hp recover, if its fine to grind, use the one with special attack and thats it

So...with this ap cap info being solidified...it finally makes sense why the game has so many different types of green weapons, specialising in different stats. It only took this long, and the game itself is still cryptic about it - this is still from an outside source. There's been nothing in game explaining why there even are so many different types of damage, the different caps, or why specific species damage are niche with how they bypass caps. The game is celebrating its 7th anniversary.
I get how the 5% cap work but what make sense in all the other spots with 70% cap like Sycraia? is there the more ap+monster ap u stack always better? or when would it make sense to use green offhand, excuisite cron and giant draught?
So I have a full tung build and I hit the orcs AP cap if I hit 100% but exceed if I hit 200%. Thinking nezzer is the way to go, but is 10% special attack damage really that much better than crit damage?
This is outdated since they added 10% special attack to Kutum and Nouver so just use Kutum for PVE. To answer your question though, you could add it and remove it at any time. it did not affect the enhancement rate or anything.
I'm too above the ap cap for some spots with green off-hand, ex. Cron and giant but garmoth pve compare still showing less damage than kutum + simple cron + frenzy. I dont get it
I wouldn't go 100% with garmoth. What makes the Green Ultimate Reformed weapons good is the 10% special attack which affects all back attacks, crits etc. When it comes to back attacks, your skill and playstyle comes into play which can't be perfectly accounted for by Garmoth unless it's assuming 100% of your attacks are back attacks (which isn't realistic either). I would just do a few hours testing. For me I found a sweet spot at gyfins to be Nessar Off-hand + 1 Narc / 1 Disto. Figured that out after quite a few hours at it

Yeah correct. Just keep your stat page open and do full dps rotation with buffs on mob or dummy and you'll see your AP numbers increase with the addons and stuff. Make your decision then.
I think I used 90fs for both of mine (80,+10 valks cry) 90fs puts you at 3% (pretty sure it was 3, might've been 2.90% though, it was a few months back I tapped it). It's cheap on crons though, so if you have 1k+ crons, you could easily just keep swinging until it pops to pen (it's never guaranteed though, you could still hit it in 2 taps or take 20+ taps if you get unlucky on taps)

No, but knowing about the caps let you farm faster. For example of you’re over ap cap you can lower your ap and trade off for species damage or special attack damage from consumables to do more dps and grind faster

I run vicious as a nova cause I don’t quite hit AP caps, I think the back attack dmg is great if you can consistently get to the enemy’s backside, otherwise crit is better
I'm a total grinding noob, so I have a dumb question. When a spot's recommended AP is say, 240 at Manshaums, that goes off just the base AP I see below my gear, right? But seemingly from the vid, there are a bunch of other numbers getting thrown into a much higher total, at least for calculating cap. Can you use Extra AP and Bonus and Other AP to make up for having too low of a base AP for a spot? Or are those not worth as much in some way? I know I'm probably not using the correct terms. It seems weird to me they'd list the base number for spots when you can have all of these other factors thrown in and the number is actually like double.
waay back in the day those numbers on the map meant something, not anymore due to players having actual AP values now in the my stats section, and thanks to the homeboys who found out the ap caps for us we can work around the real numbers we have rather than the AP recommended on the map thinking more AP was always better to an extent. but the AP caps are referring the to my stats area, u combine AP OR AAP + Monster damage + species damage. If you're able to hit the caps then u can decide how to itemize with the off-hands. Species damage will go above the cap and act as 0.85 per 1 ap but it can still help to reach those caps. 👌
generaly speaking yes, the numbers on the map are comparable with your sheet ap you see when you press i below your gear, but as the other guy said if you want to go deeper you should use the garmoth ap numbers.
So how does species damage being worth .85 ap work in terms of human damage and pvp? Seems to be worth 1 ap flat since it counts toward the nw/siege cap
its still 0.85 effective, the game on the nw/seige cap shows it at 1 to 1 tho, iirc big and shiny said it fluxuates between 1 and 0.7 averaging at 0.85. [Human damage specifically in pvp, pve its just 0.85]

It's not hard capped it's soft capped every 1ap passed 490ap total gives you .7 ap instead.... It's not that bad at all and deff should keep increasing ap
Just fyi, the bonus damage for The Wild lightstone sets seem to be incorrect. They give +15 and not +30 according to the official bdo site. I also just put the kamasylvia set together and can verify that it only give +15 damage.

The blacksmith Ornella in Heidel sells all green AP offhands, similar with the green acc subweapon being sold by the second blacksmith in velia

No not anymore. They buffed boss/BS offhands to have 10% special attack as well

Monster AP is for everything PVE. Anything that’s not a player. Then on top of that is species damage

And because of that secondary PEN Black star is completely useless. You can litteraly rent better weapon for 50 contribution...

So why adjust weapons instead of accessories to increase DP, Accuracy or evasion
People do that for PVP. In PVE you really just need more damage because you can hit the DP and accuracy requirements quite easily

where is the point to change kutum to nessar or in my case axion? all three offhands have +10% special atack dmg
