I have plan to go Japan after COVID-19 gone, i get little confuse about shinkansen seat. If i need to go to Kawaguchiko from Shinjuku Station, the option we have is use JR Chuo Line, which is a shinkansen, we should get reserved ticket if we use shinkansen? We have plan to use Tokyo Wide Pass as a cheaper option rather than individual shinkansen ticket, thankyou.

From what I understand about the Shinkansen (I've not been to Japan yet myself, but I plan to go), most Shinkansen trains have a few non-reserved cars available on each train, so you can enter the JR gates at the manned booth, show your pass, and use one of the non-reserved cars on the train you need to take. If you want to guarantee a seat with the Tokyo Wide Pass, you can show your pass at a JR ticket office and they will reserve you a seat free of charge.
