I was one of the 22 people in the crowd that day. I was at Indy a month earlier as well, talk about a crowd differential :( Technically drove the country to be there too. Kinda proud TBQH This was the best race, shame that they no longer run here.
Thank You 4 Post this one! This was an fantastic Race, incredible fast, incredible Dangerous, i saw it live on German TV Channel Sport 1 US HD. Stannin from the Start till the Chequered..... Its a Shame that they dont drive there in 2016
Dave Despain is a God in motorsports journalism. Good to hear his voice. This kind of racing takes brass balls. The danger factor is off the charts. F1 drivers try this. You better wear a diaper
NASCAR I get, historically, moonshiners pitching their souped up hot-rods against each other, bumper to bumper flat out turning left, I get it, and I like it. Indy though, I don't get, racing cars, race chassis, open cockpit but then oval tracks? Nope, I don't get it at all. Now if they stuck these cars on F1 circuits. I'm so there!
Not really pack racing given the low amount of cars and width of the track. ..plus the added downforce(which produced the close racing) kept the cars out of the fence. ..briscoes flip during his crash was 100% caused by the grass.
Well, Indycar just got the lead on my list for my favourite racing series. 1. Indycar 2. WEC 3. Blancpain GT Series 4. WTCC 5. Super GT .... 15. Formula 1...
MonGnoM Make sure to check out a race because FR3.5 has some great battles too! World Series by Renault is free here in Hungary so I'm in love with this series lol
Thanks for uploading, I didn't tune in until the last 5 laps because I thought they were running the race at night like the previous 3 years, and when I realized it. it was too late. I would've enjoyed this kind of racing, but it looked like what Las Vegas 2011 would've been without the Big One and the death of Wheldon. As I saw the last 5 laps, it immediately reminded me of that awful October day. Great racing, but this is why I kinda enjoy the Texas race better.
Three, Four..... and FIVE WIDES! INSANE! IRL needs to leave these NASCAR tracks to NASCAR, Los Vegas all over again. And for maybe 5000 spectators? WRONG Again!!
Colin Taylor Right! )-:// Look up the Indy Car race at Daytona, April, 1959. A driver got airborne in practice and died. Another driver got airborne AFTER the checker. He died! Bill France decided never again! So did USAC. USAC had banned the high bank half miles, tried in the '50s Deadly! In 1957 or '58, we took our Roadsters over to Monza. 170+ mph laps. Belond Offy and the Novi's The drivers decided to put on a PARADE, not to race. Monza was so uneven cars were in the air for much of the 1930s concrete bankings. Ferrari and Maserati built 4.5 liter cars for the event, but pulled out when their tires could not take the strain.... Pirelli insisted... A team of D-Type Jaguars tried to compete, but were only able to average about 160 there.... Their Dunlop R4s were up to it.... As were our Firestones. An experiment never repeated. Until Alex lost his legs, in Germany. More bad press....
nascarcrashesnmore I forget exactly when but PT also says "He came all over Castroneves" at some point... I want to think it's accidental but you can even hear him pause 1/4s before saying it. LOL Maybe he lost a bet and now he has to pull off as many "accidental" dirty puns as possible? It's PT anything goes :-D
NARUHINO09 Thanks! I was actually trying to find it again the other day and couldn't... awesome! LOL "Everybody just came all over him" Ewwwww Paul you know what you just said!
3 wide ....4 wide .....5 wide!!!! INCREDIBLE!
The best race in IndyCar history, and I didn't even get to see it live :(
I'm hoping they come back to Auto Club one day.
AnonymousUser123 I was in San Francisco so I was listening to it on my phone.
Thanks for uploading these recordings! Highly appreciated.

Thanks for uploading. Great race!!
million thansks for uploading
Appreciate the upload
As a 70 year old who has been a fan since the eighties that was the best race ever.
you are my hero THANK YOU
What a race. More action in this race then both NASCAR's and F1's seasons combined.
Thank You 4 Post this one! This was an fantastic Race, incredible fast, incredible Dangerous, i saw it live on German TV Channel Sport 1 US HD. Stannin from the Start till the Chequered..... Its a Shame that they dont drive there in 2016
Part 2 soon...

Cool upload : D
Just quirious. Why nobody says anything after commercials for a while. Are they taking a break?
thank you buddy!
Phew! Part 1 done, green all the way....I STILL don't know who won...Part 2....bring it on!
Well, Indycar just got the lead on my list for my favourite racing series.
1. Indycar
2. WEC
3. Blancpain GT Series
4. WTCC
5. Super GT
....
15. Formula 1...
+MonGnoM IMSA (Tudor United SportsCar) too!!!
lol, i completely forgot that one!
Well. that's my Number 1 too..
Aswell as Indycar!
+MonGnoM I hope the next three is formula renault 3.5, DTM and Formula E :D:D
Formula E and DTM is certainly on the listg of the series i am following, but not FR3,5
MonGnoM Make sure to check out a race because FR3.5 has some great battles too! World Series by Renault is free here in Hungary so I'm in love with this series lol

Respectfully disagree, they can move here, they were sardines at LV, and the Texas race seriously nearly put me to sleep
Paul "I put my pants on" Tracy
fantastic
i liked the part where they turned left
Sam Hornish jr would be the best in this situation.
Old sam hornish would. Modern sam hornish would find some way to choke it up
+tao master Waka. Sam hornish jr best ever formula car oval driver.
That's funny cause his name isn't Rick Mears
+tao master Waka. Mears was good so
I'm frightened that this style of racing has come back to IndyCar. Pack racing cost us Dan Wheldon, and I'm not sure it coming back is a good thing.
Great race but empty stadium
250 laps? Endurance.......
Would be nice if they turned right occasionally
ROAD COURSES!!!
Bye bye Fontana. IndyCar will be the "new Champ Car" in next years without ovals
Three, Four..... and FIVE WIDES!
INSANE!
IRL needs to leave these NASCAR tracks to NASCAR,
Los Vegas all over again.
And for maybe 5000 spectators?
WRONG Again!!
NASCAR needs to give IndyCar their tracks, 180 pole speed is very cute compared to the 220+ that IndyCar does.
Colin Taylor
Right! )-://

Deadly!

Argue with Bill France, not me.
It's not a video game out there.
Kiddies!
+375GTB the california speedway was built for indycars
Around 1:00:20 the announcer says "pussy-footing." Surprised he didn't get in trouble for it.
nascarcrashesnmore Why? It's a word that's been around for a long time, and refers to the way cats tread very lightly and cautiously.
nascarcrashesnmore I forget exactly when but PT also says "He came all over Castroneves" at some point... I want to think it's accidental but you can even hear him pause 1/4s before saying it. Stereo3DProductions starting min 18 of the second part .. that's where he says it
NARUHINO09
Thanks! I was actually trying to find it again the other day and couldn't... awesome! LOL
"Everybody just came all over him" Ewwwww Paul you know what you just said!
Es la 3er carrera q veo.. alucinante!!
Fontana, Michigan end Indianápolis the best super-oval!
Man, feels like there were more lead changes in the first five laps than the entire F1 season.
The commentators don't do it for me, what you race fans think?
