Hey I loved your video Gabby. I’m impressed you read 20 books this month. I only read 4. My favorites were “Not another love song” and “ Christmas Tree Farm”. I’m going to get to some thrillers for January. I’m excited for Winterween. 😊 I’m also excited to read the next book for Booktroop. 😊
I read 11 books this month plus 1 dnf. I had a wonderful reading month with 5 five star books, 3 four stars, one 3.5, 3 and 2 stars and a dnf My 5 star reads were : Gone Girl; Kill for Me Kill for You; Yellowface; Bloom and Blue Sisters ❤ Excited for the stats video! 😊💜
I read Done and Dusted recently and had pretty similar feelings that you did. I'm currently halfway through Swift and Saddled and liking this one so much more so maybe it's worth a shot!
Thank you for your wrap up. I had a weird reading month. Between my reading slump, the holidays, and watching a lot of movies, I hardly read anything. I did read The Ex by Frieda McFadden and gave it 3.5 stars
So glad you are enjoying your Kindle. I read/listened to 17 books this month. I didn't have any 5 stars this month either. I read Done and Dusted and thought it was just ok. I gave it 3 stars. I also am interested in whether the others books are better. I agree with you about Rest Stop. I thought the first half was great. Spiders freak me out so that part really messed with me. But the last part of the book just put me off. I didn't like it at all. So I also gave it 2 stars. Happy New Year, Gabby!
Have you ever seen 3 Men And A Baby? It’s a movie from the 80s with Ted Danson, Steve Guttenburg and Tom Selleck..The plot in Nanny For The Nanny sounds a little similar though there is no nanny. I loved City Of Night Birds. It was one of my top Reese’s Book Club books. You and I liked the same stories in You Like It Darker wit a few differences . 4 stars for me. 3.75-4 stars for The Most Wonderful Crime of The Year. Mostly my December TBR have been wrapping up various prior TBRs and rereads. Happy New Year Gabby. I can’t wait for Winterween.❤
I love that you still loved Book Lovers just as much on reread. 🥹 Nora is one of my favorite book characters - as an enneagram 5w4, I find her very relatable in her harder exterior and general anti-romcom heroine qualities! Definitely my favorite Emily Henry book and one of my all time favorite romances!
8:13 you talking about the book😂😂 I read about 26 books (including manga) this month. My favorite being We used to live here. I don't read romance but I'm trying to get into it so I read Dungeons and Drama and it was so cute! P.s theres no spicy scenes in that one😊
Hi Gabby, I’ve been watching some of your recent videos though, I haven’t commented. I guess like for many this time of year I’ve just been busy recently. I just wanna say I hope you had a very Merry Christmas And I wish you a happy 2025.! Thank you for all your videos this year, they’ve truly been fun and inspirational - a real bright part of my year!
There is a Booktuber, Jack in the Books, he picks a celebrity and reads their book recommendations. Like one celebrity and their books per Vlog. IDK if that makes sense, but that might be fun for next year. Instead of just one person's book club, try a different Celebrity per month. Just throwing it out there.
Although romance isn't a go-to for me these days I can say that I like the progress of the genre away from idealized men with independent means sufficient to support scenes in expensive restaurants and exotic locales toward more real people juggling jobs, careers, apartments and exes. In one sense it makes it so much easier to tell a story when the character is always available for adventure but of course there must be some suspension of disbelief. On the other hand, we have people with limited resources to make life choices so there is less room for mistake. Great to see you again HNY
