- Its No MK7, but it is running an IS38 from the latest Golf R/ Audi S3. The swap has been a huge success. I know alot of people want to know what it took to fit an IS38... a parts list will be drafted soon.
Looking for a company willing to tune My Simos 12 ECU.
Car is running an OEM VW IS38 , Off the sheft Stage2 tune with Burger Motorsports JB4 Tuner stacked, adjusting fuel and boost. 27psi taper to 22psi, Catless 3in Downpipe, custom 3in Catback borrowed, Upgraded boostpipes, Intake, Burger Motorsports Meth Injection.

SGTR Yea, he was at the track tonight updating me on his runs. His car is quick as shit for 3 bolt ons and A Tune! But my car should be on the track soon & it's doing to be fun! Lol

BCH37501 Thanks man, the car just keeps growing into this animal no one ever expected. Its been a long journey and the car hasnt skipped a beat. Beyond proud of what me and my friends/supports have been able to accomplish.
I've been toying with selling my GLI, and even though I don't see myself going IS38, I like having the option to! It makes the car more competitive. Even if its work. Keep the updated coming!

TheStoneyYoshi Same setup, JB4 is just requesting more boost and fuel. Thinking about getting rid of the APR tune. Its not designed to run at this level. I need a more specific tune.

nick saylor 17x9 ET45 5x114 with a 245/40 tire setup. A 235/40 also fits nic

nick saylor there are a few options, I used to run something called “wobble bolts”or PCD variation bolts. They are a bolt that have a loose washer that centers on to the lug hole and hope the wheel secured. I now run a stud kit. I grew tired of the German lug bolts and installed a set of M14x1.5 to m12x1.5 stud conversion from Motorsport hardware with a nice set of steel Muteki SR48 black lug nuts from Amazon. I absolutely love this mod. Wheel changes are easier and I now own 2 different sets of 5x114 wheels. Much better selection

What FMIC are you running. That looks slick
That was just a simple Neuspeed FMIC setup, it turned out to be a bit small for my HP so I had to upgrade short after this turbo was installed.
@@PrzFinest21x yeah the few coolers I first seen were all crazy $800+. I just ran across some $450 front mount. Just not sure if they will be good for the 350hp goal im chasing.

If it’s an MK7 the kit I really like is the LTmotorsports FMIC you can also get a similar kit from JDeurosport but theirs is $800. If you aren’t against making something yourself, you can also get a Treadstone TR8L and a universal piping kit and some couplers and make it work. Just bolt it in using a simple L bracket.
@@PrzFinest21x mk6 gen 3. Eye balling this cts boss turbo. I dont have the time to figure out all the ins and outs of the is38. Im pretty much trying to work up my list to buy now to be ready, work offshore so I have alot of down time to spend money lol

yoo wud up, we chatted online on fb with tatton.. I almost considered buying a custom turbo someone was selling for the gen3 but was concerned of possible issues it could cause . yo what parts do I need to do the same as you? sorry if I asking the same question
I remember you, I hope all is well. The Custom turbo that is currently forsale is my Hybrid turbo setup that made 325whp and ran 11.9, I sold it like a month or 2 ago and the buyer had something come up and is selling it again without ever installing it. For my current setup, I have linked a thread with a small parts list that I made in VWvortex in the description to the video.

Chris S Yea, That's my old turbo. Its a great, relatively cheap upgrade.... but the IS38 is on another level.
I was reading on the forum on what you did, beside getting the supporting mods etc, is there anything technical that needs to be done?
Chris S it depends on what FMIC you have. There may be issues fitting the hoses, I had to trim a little but everything is simple hoses, likes and bolts.

How viable is a head swap with the mk7?
A jacko Na... easier to just source an entire Crashed GTI. You’d need a head, ecu, engine harness and probably the cluster and Programming.

Yes, but you’ll need all the swap parts.
It all depends on your power goals, There’s also a big turbo that’s bolt on from the guys at GappinCheeks on Facebook.

Alex Rosete I drive my car everyday. Taken it on 2 separate road trips 6hours away and back, weekend visits to the track... and its been great.

Alex Rosete its in the Mini writeup. The Flange for the turbo to bolt up is the same. It literally fits. You just have to convert everything around it to MQB. Downpipe, boost pipes, intake, Coolant Lines, Oil Lines all that... but its worth it!
