- China’s military showed off its highly choreographed servicemen and women marching through Tian'anmen Square in Beijing on Tuesday as part of the military parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic.

This is the closes to perfection that I have ever seen. I have been close to drill all my adult life and I wonder the training exercises that they did to achieve this level of performance.
6 months of intense and tedious training on how to step, how to whip a rifle and how to march in formation. 75cm between every step, 110-120 steps a minute. They kick so hard that bruises form underneath their socks. It takes a great amount of determination to achieve such high standard. And they are motivated by the honor and pride of a soldier and patriotism.

@Talha Sending soldiers to anywhere just to see whether they can fight is an outdated concept today. China, US, UK, French, Russia, if they really want to go to war with any other country, it's jets, missiles will be the main force in war. Yemen, syria or iraq, etc. Smaller country can have their gun loaded, tanks moving forward, waiting to kill some soldiers. But all they'll see is jets flying over sky and all they can probably hear is the sound of attacking missile. US is the example, And that's even 10 years ago. No matter how well a soldier is trained, human flesh cant outweight the huge gap created by technology.

I have read multiple peer reviewed paper on how China lead the words economy even through most of the Qing dynasty which is contemporary with the colonial period and industrial revolution. It's hard to believe a dark age Europe struggling with the plague and hundred year war has better economy than a unified China.
