    Thank you so much!
    I just finished my three seat swing and it turned out absolutely awesome!!
    I used bonny 6mm 90 yards. 5.5 of yarns. So about 500 meters! $10 each from hobby lobby.
    Best video ever!!!

    When my grandma passed last summer my sister and I found a pair of these outdoor chairs that had been my great grandma and papaw’s. We split the pair and I took the one that was worse for the wear. (I.e. hers still sits just fine) They turned out to both be rocking chairs and I cannot wait to do this up-cycle on mine to make it of use once again!!

    Lovin this . Im beginning my two beach chairs. Since the seat and backs were made of cloth , my husband needed to attach a wooden cross member at the place where your thigh rests. That he bolted on the underside of the two sides. Now i have a starting point. Otherwise the cord would just slip off ends. I found 100' at Ross for only $4.99.
    The color is black red and yellow. So.... Ya see why so cheap. As the farmer once said to the pig-" that will do"! Lol you are an inspiration Orly. Blessing on ya!

    My grandpa used to have a bunch of these chairs he would break out every Saturday night around the campfire. I always wanted to make a couple and when I saw someone throwing away some lawn chairs I thought "now I'll finally be able to make my own". This video is super helpful and easy enough to follow

    Great job,. I have a passel of chairs to apply this to. A couple of questions: some people do this with paracord and you use craft cord, How long will they last in the Florida sun? Does the craft cord have a UV rating How long ago did you do your first? Is it holding up, 1 season, 2, 5,? How much cord did you use on the chair? Did you keep track? I have subscribed now that I found you. If you Know these answers, great. If you don't that's ok too.

    Great idea for a future project, but how would you go about that triangle pattern on a round metal frame? I'm trying to fix a couple old chairs with funky frames and round seats (minus the actual seat part)... Legend of Zelda's triforce design would be awesome, but I can't find the right how to video to learn how to do it myself. This is the closest thing that has given me hope. Any feedback on possibilities is appreciated 👍🙏

      I just need to do the back of lawn chairs. How much of the white cord would I need for one chair. I think I can figure out the other color if I can figure out how much I would need for the base wrap on one chair. Just a guestimate would be grate. (Like did it take a whole skein?,.... Half skein?.... etc. Thanks so much!

    This is awesome! I have three one-year-old patio chairs, all of which have seats that are already starting to tear, while the black frames still look new. I hated the idea of throwing them away, since they're so new, and the frames are in such good condition. They don't have rivet holes, so using regular old lawn chair webbing won't work to repair them. The macrame in bright colors would look perfect with the Mexican/Boho decor of my deck.

    These are awesome. One question? Do you know if this cording is colorfast. I had experience with some cording as it bled and disintegrated a bit on our skin. This happened with a corded hammock. It was so frustrating. I would love to tackle this project. So cool!

    This is amazing. I have an old chair like that and I bought new webbing for it but I can't get the little hooks to stay on so maybe this is another option. How much cord do you need for one chair, if you just do 2 colors? Will one skein of each color be enough?

    • @OrlysChannel
      @OrlysChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! One of each color is definitely enough. You'll have some left over.

    • @lestranged
      @lestranged 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for answering. I want to try black & white houndstooth. But also RAINBOW stripe ones would be amazing but then you need 6 or 7 skeins. That would only make sense if you were doing multiple chairs. I think you can test out designs on a spreadsheet , turn it into graph paper.

    • @OrlysChannel
      @OrlysChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, the problem with that is also each time you switch colors, you have to tie a knot between the colors and try to hide it somewhere. It's tough to switch colors as you go. That's why the vertical being one color and the horizontal back and horizontal seat being two others works well.

    • @lestranged
      @lestranged 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I finished my chair! I had a whole diamond pattern worked out on a graph but it turned out to be too hard so I just did a simple checkerboard design instead.

    Great instructions and I'm making my first attempt. The problem I have run into is that the crochet needles that you are using appear to be way smaller than the ones in your amazon link which are the ones I ordered. When I say SUPER sized... the link is for 30 mm crochet needles and they are appear far bigger than yours! It might be that I just need to practice the technique but I am struggling with the size of my needles!
