If you ever interview him again it would be great if he was asked tough questions about the incredibly predatory monetization practices they have adopted recently with refusing to drop cards in series at the appropriate times, and predatory bundle pricing. They have become incredibly anti-consumer recently

This was a master class in interviewing. He to it as a fan (obviously) but then was able to turn conversation into predetermined questions with seemless transitions. So great

I love how Snap tricks new players into learning basic card game stuff we take for granted. Just like they said, going from shocker to aquiring sentinel, secretly teaches you that hand size matters.
True. I remember getting Deathlok and thinking "Why would I want to destroy my cards?!". Then when I got Armor I always dropped him in her lane to avoid his ability. As I got Winter Soldier it finally clicked WHY I would want to destroy some cards.
Shocker being the equivalent of Yeti.
It doesn’t teach people anything the game is pure rng more than the average card game. You have to play completely different than most card games
@@connorpena373 every card game is rng based lol marvel snap is just a much more simplified card game vs like your typical card games that need 40 cards. If anything it reminds of gwent a lot but with the added locations that gives it a nice twist. In the end you still need to compile a deck that gives you multiple options of winning the game without your top combos/cards
No one has time or the attention to play thru a full game of magic the gathering. Also their matchmaking is a lot better than most games. That’s what makes marvel snap fun tho and they adding more features as it goes to keep people playing. They listen to the community and I have personally only spend on two season passes and I am at collection level +2.5k so it’s def a lot cheaper than keeping up with metas IRL card games

This was such an amazing interview, you can really see Ben’s passion and enthusiasm and love for game and for marvel as a whole, and it really shines through in the game itself
Everyone says this about him but I guess I'm missing it. He seems like a caricature. Every expression and laugh feels acted/artificial. Maybe he is just this jolly guy but he seems phony to me. I suppose it doesn't really matter. I don't dislike him...if it's a grift I certainly get it.

He’s been like this even back in hearthstone development (mainly earlier). You two are looking for something that is not there.
Hearing Ben saying he went back and watched everything and read everything is so amazing it truly shows how dedicated he was
I’ve never seen a game developer interact with so many content creators and the fans of the game
Is that a good thing tho? Not always.
Content creators should always keep a sceptical view so they don't loose the unbiased view of how a company operates.
and yet still the game is pay to win and no creator tells him how bad the game design is.... snap is dead and people will stop play if thew cant get the new cards

BUT...
... I would love to see also an interview with serious and uncomfortable questions. Things which are going on with the game, their decisions etc. Maybe for the next time?!
I realize Cozy probably had to agree to softball questions to get the interview, but not calling Ben out on the way the game is being monetized, the absolutely predatory Darkhawk bundle that straight up lies by saying it's 3X the value, and the series drop changes pushing it into being more pay to win is extremely disappointing. Ben has crazy energy yes, but as a longtime HS player who has seen Ben's history, he just seems like a snake-oil salesman to me.
Would be tough to ask any questions from the future. This was filmed weeks ago prior to the bundle and June series drops.
The Snap Team and no one for that matter have any say to what I can and cannot say on my channel. I Didn't have to agree to anything, was genuinely amped to talk about Snap and Brode after the Ion of hours I put into creating content for the game.

I came in saying that he's probably got some harder questions to answer which people may not want to ask but it was still an awesome video and interview and if it was recorded weeks ago then it makes total sense to not have any of that in there. Not that you're obligated to ask them anyway. Still the best Snap channel out there!

Im also one of the guys who dont even play card game but got into marvel snap. What I like about it is its easy to understand, no wall of text and the matches are super quick. The only thing that I remember that confused me was the who flips first mech and how it works

That’s so awesome that Ben mentioned those trading cards! I loved collecting them as a kid. As fun as Snap is to play, I love the game more for just collecting the variants because it reminds me of those trading cards.
