I believe PSSR performs better when there is movement, but as we can clearly see, on still shots the FSR of the PS5 looks way better than the PSSR of the PS5 Pro
That is one advantage of FSR, on still shot, it's sharpness and clarity is superb, Dlss or Xess tend to blurred edges due to their nature, on motion though it all fell apart, hence why FSR3 is a blessing since it introduced FSR native AA, been using it on Horizon forbidden west, Ghost of Tsushima, and GOW Ragnarok, far better than native TAA for me eyes.
Ray Reconstruction is great for stills. Even with the recent denoiser upgrade, I just don’t see it being good enough for the artifacting and ghosting it brings..
We have gotten to the point of diminishing returns in gaming as a whole. While more focus would shift towards implementing ray tracing in most games and targeting more frames, the in game visuals would still be thesame. The ps6 or ps7 won't be any much different than what we are currently getting from the ps5 pro
The whole point is PSSR. Performance on base PS5 generally look terrible. FF7 rebirth, hogwarts, many more all look bad in performance mode hence PSSR allows people to play in performance mode with the image quality upscaled to 4k in most cases with extras. No game has ghosting anymore which was in almost every game.

@@J0rdan912 I work with rendering and 3D modeling, I think you didn't understand what I meant. I'll try to explain better. When you configure a material, you basically add textures, or colors, texture maps and then configure the physical properties of light interaction, so what I meant is that the ground property was already configured previously with this properties, raytrancing does not create or change configurations, it it only simulates what was originally determined. I'll give a different example, the mirrors on any game have certainly already been configured to have a reflective property, so based on that material properties, if raytracing is disable, the engine will simulate reflection through screen space reflection or simar metods, and the result is usually an opaque, strange and incomplete reflection, but that in the settings is already a mirror, even if it doesn't translate visually. but when raytracing is activated, it will understand that it is a mirror, and and will simulate based on these material settings, the developer does not need to touch it manually.

There is no way around it: the pro shows better RT, better shadows, better reflections, better image quality, some cases with better res, more details in all modes. Then don't buy it, instead of complaining. When I see a product I don't like, I don't buy it. Don't know why everyone feels like they have to complain about it in 2024.
I don't have the money right now to get a pro version like I usually do, but for this generation, I think I'd skip doing it anyway. It's been a very disappointing generation so far with very few games coming out, and honestly the pro version isn't worth it this time around.

@1:56 in PS5 pro, the shadow should not be sharper, unless; 1. The light source is closer to the object that casted the shadow, 2. If the object that casted the shadow is closer to wall or floor where the shadow it casted.
It's also extremely funny how Sony has managed to gaslight some of their customers into believing they're getting some type of luxury piece of hardware. You'll see a lot of these idiots calling other people poor for not having the "Pro".

Have both consoles. On a big OLED TV the difference is super obvious. This game has RT shadows, lighting and enhanced reflections. For example, in the city with direct sunlight every house and object casts a shadow. Also resolution is much higher. PSSR tebds to soften the image. TH-cam video eats lots of image quality.
@Mujahed. it's hard to tell actually whether it's bad or not. It's just different. But you still see the increased clarity. Because of the low TH-cam bitrate it might look opposite.
2:07 Looks at his forehead on base console flickering shadow and on PRO clean shadow. There are small details that make a difference but it is worth it? For me definitely, for some people maybe not. Anyway If You sell your old one PS5 YOU woll get pro for 400 $ MAXIMUM and that make sense❤
If he lifted the camera up a bit you would have seen no difference since screen space reflections would have given the same effect. So he deliberately pushes the camera down to highlight the benefit of rt
What's weird is that when i play this game in in Performance Mode on the PS5 Pro and i turn the frame rate cap on it always fades into a black screen whenever i go into the menu.
February 2023 game, it would be strange if it didn't roll well, I also want to see a game with ultra-realistic graphics in Unreal Engine 5, to see how this console can behave
we should of gotten that in 2020, but thanks to stupid gamers that think "peak graphics" is from 2015. @@adriasanchezcaballe Yeah, nobody wants that! Pro is a scam, period!

Still way too much noise in RT reflections. Might as well just use RT shadows and push pixel count higher with the extra headroom.
Would like to see Sony invest in a similar technology like ray reconstruction to go alonside PSSR
was just thinking of cyberpunk and denoiser for the weird artifacts in the reflections
Ray Tracing work per pixel
1080p -> 2 Millions pixels , 4K - > 8 Millions Pixels
then multiply it to sample for shadows , for reflections
Ray Reconstruction is great for stills. Even with the recent denoiser upgrade, I just don’t see it being good enough for the artifacting and ghosting it brings..

The whole point is PSSR. Performance on base PS5 generally look terrible.
