      Thanks, I like helping, but I will not do the entire project, just give some tips. You have to learn from your projects by your own efforts.

      GrandadIsAnOldMan granddad is this your hobby to make toys for your grandchildren?

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol plane I guess you have not read my video descriptions or channel description.
      Generally my projects are for my grandchildren to enjoy. OK, I enjoy them too. If anybody else likes them, that is a bonus. I like to keep my work as simple and basic as possible so that it can be copied easily and improved by anybody who wants to try themselves. I recycle or repurpose items rather than buy new and when I do buy I like to keep it cheap.

    The tape part was very confusing and how to bend the paper clip in the middle. I dont get how it goes foward.

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  ปีที่แล้ว

      The tape is folded in half, so the sticky sticks to itself. That leaves it so we can use it like a piece of string. If you have a piece of string, you could use that instead. The shape of the paperclip in the middle is just a hook for the rubber band. You hook the rubber band in place, tie the "string" to it, attach the string to the back axle by wrapping it around so it goes over itself. That holds it in place. Keep turning the axle to wind more string round it, that stretches the rubber band storing power in it. When you release the axle, the rubber band pulls the string, and that spins the axle. You will find useful links in the video description 👍

      You may have to slow the video down to watch those sections again to watch them. If I can find the original video clip I will upload it as a helpfile later if I get time. I will add the link here when I have done it.

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe a few hours, I didn't time myself. Cutting the wheels is the hardest part.

    How far does it go?

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the video I tell you it is going 9 metres. Do you have to make a car to this exact specification? If not, there are plenty of other cars in my rubber band car playlists that are easier to make and will go further. There are helpful links in the video description but I will add a few here

    just get wide rubber bands that go around the back wheels as tyres

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nash Winter if that is allowed in the specification they yes, that would work. I usually cut strips from balloons or rubber gloves as they stretch nicely round the edge and that helps to hold them in place. Here is my old helpfile for putting rubber tyres on CDs th-cam.com/video/ZnuPnveCbxs/w-d-xo.html

      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reena I have over 900 videos on my channel so there are plenty to look at. Unless you have something specific in mind I am afraid 'something awesome' just does not give me enough information.

    hi there I was wondering if you could make some kind of radio controlled car using suspension of some sort and try using a ramp to see how far you can jump it.:)

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ronan, thanks for asking but that's not really the sort of project I do. There are plenty of TH-cam channels that focus on 'off road' rc cars so I don't feel the need to get involved in it.

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +OMGitsKARKAT I haven't tried sandpaper, but I wouldn't want to on my floor as it may damage it. As you say on a concrete floor it may be OK.
