Those stainless steel metal trim pieces around the window glass can be cleaned with gasket cleaner. I find it's very similar to paint striper. Nice to see the old girl getting some love. Pete lucky you know how to fab stuff. Dave owes you 🍻
Found a blue 1977 Toyota Celica GT Liftback in a guys field one time. You could barely see it because of the overgrown trees and grass, just a little glimmer of light off the windshield and hood. Popped the hood. Hooked up a 2.5gal gas tank to the carb and a fresh battery...started right up! Aired up the tires and drove it up on a trailer and took it to the house. We cleaned it out and drove it around for a week or so with the gas tank strapped to the hood. Thing would burn the tires right off the rims, stock. Interior was dirty and needed a detail but was flawless nonetheless. Body didn't have a single dent or rust whatsoever. Paid $125 dollars for the car that day in the field in 2005. (plus gas and battery) Now for the hard part... Despite the pleas by my mom to restore it...my dad and I gutted it and proceeded to weld a cage in it and raced it on a dirt track for 2 years before selling it for $800. Lots of memories made and lessons learned with that one. Been looking for another one for years now to restore and it's getting harder and harder to find one...especially for $125.
Im soooo happy you finally got Connie back on! You guys are the only ones doin this gen of celica and you're doing right! Does this mean we're finally going to see a proper battle between the k-swapped 240 and Connie?
Bout time you guy got back on this :D I really do wish you'd mold in those fender flares. I have a 71 with the fender flares molded in and they really make the body stand out. It makes people think that maybe it came like that instead of being added on and it really makes the body lines flow.
I absolutely love that car! Cant wait to see that finished! Love the old school body panels, long lines, old school steel! God bless guys, hope you have a great day thank you for the videos
Nice work on the transmission patch panel, I built a similar one for my TE72. I’m still interested in seeing how well your defroster set-up works. I followed your lead and put one in my car but the jury is still out if it blows strong and hot enough.
I’ve been watching TH-cam videos for car content for a while now and I must say that after watching you channel I literally deleted the rest of the car channels, except Hoonigan Autofocus, from my account. Guys, keep up the great work! Can you guys build the red 240z I saw in some vids in background? That would be an awesome build.
You must sheet metal the roof and get rid of that Pep Boy's flip-up sunroof.....it'll just leak after a while and those seals are unique to the sunroof and who knows it's origins.....
Will you please do a how to on removing the sunroof? I have one I'd like to get rid of, but I'm nervous about welding in the hole and warping the roof. Thanks
Awesome to see this getting some more attention. I'm curious, did you still use the seat brackets, or did you mount the sliders directly to the floor mounts? I did mine straight to the floor to get as much head room as possible, and I'm hoping that's safe enough for track use. Obviously I reinforced the mounts so it won't tear through the 45 year old sheet metal, but I didn't use a secondary mount or rail beyond the sliders. Also, are you planning to use any sound deadening on the floor pans? When the time comes, I'm thinking of going with something like Lizard Skin for heat and sound deadening. Yours being more of a track car, will you do any of that, or just use the carpet and padding as insulation?
Like this comment if you're pumped for more Connie Celica content!
Cream on the inside, clean on the outside. Ice cream paint job baby yeaahh
Glad she's back. Can you get rid of the sunroof or would that cost too much? I think it would really clean it up.
Glad Connie is back!
My favourite of your projects. Glad to see it featured again
I was reading comments and I was like who the heck is Connie?.......I just have to say that is a terrible name for that car🤔👎
"We move on to filling other holes." Happy Valentine's Day from Speed Academy.
Ha finally, thanks for the opportunity guys. Great working with you both.
Bring back ken wagan and the fd rx7.
Was just about to ask the same thing
Connie made me a subscriber. I was researching for ITB content for my MR2 AW11 20V build. Keep on your great work, greetings from Germany!

That's so cool, I work at Perry Performance with Carl and had no clue you guys ordered seats from us!!!
So happy to see this car back.
CONNIEEEEEEEE HOW MUCH I MISS YOU OMGGGGGG

We need more of Connie!
Finally she's back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
watching the windows removal was lots of fun
The resto build is coming along beautifully. Seeing as you already say "sell-eek-ar", she just needs to be right hand drive 😁🥰 Aussie appreciation 👍
Excited to see the paint and everything coming along!
I absolutely love that car! Cant wait to see that finished! Love the old school body panels, long lines, old school steel! God bless guys, hope you have a great day thank you for the videos
I don't day this lightly. This made my day!
Perry Performance is the best!!
Thank you for sharing your journey on this car! It makes me inspired and hopeful to get a ('71-'75) eventually.
When Connie is all done you guys need to recreate that commercial at the end
Excited to see the ol' girl all painted up
I've been waiting for this for sooooo long. this is the car that got me into SA. looking good guys
connie made me subscribe i'm working on my own 77 celica she's about ready for paint soon
Finally I’ve waited so long for a celica video
"Stuff sausage moose" 😂😂😂😂 to funny! The guy who helped with the windows seems to be a character!! He loves his job that is awesome!
Can't wait to go to the Tail of the Dragon again with my 1977 or with my new 1976. We have to do a 1st gen TOD trip!
Finally a Connie episode!!!!!
Sweet! Connie is back in the house
Happy valentine's day everyone, Connie is back! ❤
Oh man... Connie is back. My favorite build series. Also, when Moose stuffed himself inside... that is me with pretty much every car.
Finally!! Paint it Red!!!
I never noticed this before but Pete is quite the fabricator.
luigi takes a break from working with Mario to come and help on the corolla
That fuel cap is frickin sick!
Me when I see Connie in the thumbnail: "Aww HELL yea."
Yesssss. My fav youtube build is back
Liked the video before it even started! Very pumped!
Had to smash that like button before the intro was even over. Keep em coming.
PT is a beast these days.
Love this build
IVE BEEN WAITING ON THIS 😂
If you havent decided the colour of the paint. I think that the ara blue (LX5J) would look so sick on this car with some chrome trim!
The glass man looks like if Stef Papadakis and Luigi had a child.
Connie is alive and well.
This is the car that made me subscribe to the channel
Just a gorgeous car!
One of my favorite builds
Nice work on the transmission patch panel, I built a similar one for my TE72. I’m still interested in seeing how well your defroster set-up works. I followed your lead and put one in my car but the jury is still out if it blows strong and hot enough.
Love this project.
Very nice job ! I would patch the sunroof if that was mine !
Good content, but for your safety I would not use gloves on that saw and use a push block when you can.
old import cars have that special feel.
Nicee, i Just happened to finished watching the past 2 seasons like 12 hours ago!!!
Thanks for the kind words, we try hard to have a high level of content.
One of our dream builds is a 240z so we hope to build one someday
Jay and Silent Bob!!!!!!
good to see some moose again.
Bad Motorsport Obsessions would frown upon your lack of polish with the grinder!
yay
looks exactly like we last saw it
that's okay
I've been waiting for this for so fucking long
Beautiful car
I want one of these so badly 😩😩
Finally Connie gets new clothes! 😀
Love your videos bro keep it up
I wet my pants when I saw there was another Connie video!
CONNIE!!!!!!
Why dont you patch the mirror holes on the doors and move them to the fenders to go with the JDM look?
Finally!!! 😂 Shes back
YES !
You must sheet metal the roof and get rid of that Pep Boy's flip-up sunroof.....it'll just leak after a while and those seals are unique to the sunroof and who knows it's origins.....
bring this car back
So no concerns about the uni-body supports? I guess the role cage covers that?
YES
I kinda hope you keep the same color scheme with the blue stripe
Maaaan I must have missed the episode where Jay and silent Bob were workin on Connie celica
the old muddy boomerang
Keep the Connie vids coming guys! Just curious here Dave, do you plan on keeping the moonroof or do you plan on removing it and patching the hole?
Will you please do a how to on removing the sunroof? I have one I'd like to get rid of, but I'm nervous about welding in the hole and warping the roof. Thanks
Nice!
Nice!!
What an old Feeling ! LOL
Those JDM coveralls though !!! Sooo sick!! hahahaha
Why aren't you using the SQ relocations kits for the shifter?
Did you get any footage of the quarter glass removal? I'm doing the exact same thing on my 77.
Awesome to see this getting some more attention. I'm curious, did you still use the seat brackets, or did you mount the sliders directly to the floor mounts? I did mine straight to the floor to get as much head room as possible, and I'm hoping that's safe enough for track use. About time
Moose youve just made my day 🤣
Make more update videos on your old project cars!
Are you guys going to remove the sunroof ? Seems like an easy pop out that could help with paint.
Ben Carter yessir, it’s coming out and we’ll plug it with a patch panel.
@@speedacademydave love this car was wondering when you were going to finish it out. I'll look for more in the future.
Lol, Chuck Norris gives it a thumbs up.
I'd love to build one with a 4AGE with a Webber carb.
Set this up and run drift week 2021 with Lonestar drift
