The best Zorro movie ever made. I discovered it in 2011 when I was alone at home and went through my mums DVDs, this was one she aquired in 2009 and I have wathced the film multiple times ever since, it never gets old!
I just “discovered” Alain Delon a few months ago and he fascinates me. I only wish he could have been more of a well known actor here in America. He sure had the looks and talent! 💙

The best movie about Zorro. This film was first shown in 1976 in the USSR in cinemas (I was 15 years old then). There were huge queues to get into this film. I still watch this cinematic classic from time to time.

I was around 11 years old in 1975. This Zorro film was a made for tv movie & actually was aired on the CBS network. I watched it when it first aired & just loved it! It would rerun again over the years; it literally is my favorite movie ever made! I never get tired of it! I also have the movie on DVD, too. Alain Delon was so handsome! He was my 2nd crush; the first one was Jackson Bostwick from the Saturday Morning Shazam Show. Brings back wonderful memories!

KHJ-TV Los angeles. The last time it was shown was back in 85. I wanted this movie that badly that I bought it from Amazon.France. Very happy to see it again. This is probably the original version. I say this because there are small differences in this movie versus the one I saw.
@@Dbusdriver71this is the original English language version, but it lucks the end monologue of Ottavia Piccolo, when her character is victoriously speaking to the happy free crowd. That scene was in some other versions of the movie. I'm not sure if it was in Italian, but it was surely there in the USSR one.

Naturally, Delon had to do Zorro as a Spaghetti Western for alot of money because by now his career was waning, having peaked in the 1960s, then again in his collaborations with J-P Melville (i.e., Le Samourai) & later as producer/star in films for his own production company with his repertoire of actors. This average movie is redeemed by the great Stanley Baker, member of an elite group of emerging actors of 1950s British Cinema including Robert Shaw, Sean Connery, David McCallum, Peter O'Toole, Laurence Harvey, Tom Courtenay, Julie Christie, Richard Harris, Albert Finney, Alan Bates, etc. This Italian version of the Spaniard Zorro offers nothing new, interesting or exciting except Alain Delon on/off horseback, swordfighting & defending those who can't defend themselves against the villainous Mexican officer, Stanley Baker. I'm glad I saw this movie because every tribute to Delon & to Baker -- two of my absolutely favorite actors -- quite sensibly leaves this movie out. It's neither memorable nor worthy of their talents. Delon looks tired from too much partying with the bags under his eyes in the closeups. Like I said, he & Baker -- who had fun overacting --were paid alot of money for this sub-par Zorro version. I prefer Tyrone Power's version.
Stanley Baker, classic British actor, took on this role due to financial issues. He would have made a great Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars had he lived a little longer. One of his contemporaries, Peter Cushing played the role. I would love to see an AI Stanley Baker playing an Empire baddie. He would have nailed it!
Don't want to be racial but there were Black people in Mexico and many fought in the Mexican civil war against Spain. Glad to see people of color represented in this movie too.
