Me as a DRG main: i'm here for the smooth as balls easy rotation. *elusive jumps to death*
I did this yestetday in the last boss of Dead Ends.
We were all max melee in a corner and i tried to use my stardiver but accidently pressed my elusive jump.
Ended up clipped the healer nearly killing them and my reaper friend.....i killed him lmaooo.
I only play the most braindead jobs possible and I do not care, my brain is limited at multitasking, I can't pay attention to a complex rotation at the same time I'm paying attention to the mechanics, it's one or the other. I'm glad I wanted to main DK and once I got to play it I learned it is super braindead. I get to enjoy my favorite class without any troubles. Just uga buga the damage buttons and press The Blackest Night before tank bursters, done.
We have cleared savage pandamonium 1 and 2 only to find out that I have been doing the wrong dsp rotation, eating the wrong food and using a grade 5 dps potion instead of a grade 6. You must be thinking: Well your team must have carried you. Well no. Only 1 person in my static has done a savage EVER, the rest is like me completely new to this. In short, don't be afraid like I was and do try out savage, if you find fun people to play with it just makes it better.
The fear of Savage usually comes from Week 1 progg which is usually really hard because everyone is hard undergeared. But the funny Part is that 99% of exactly that ppl who tell you "You have to be the best to step a foot into Savage" never done Week 1 prog.
When you have a dedicated grp go for it. Wipe your Ass off, have fun and if you dont kill the Boss try it next week with most of the ppl have 1 or 2 more Tomestone Items. The Savage getting easier from week to week and thats absolute a ok. The Guys who wants a challenge go for week 1 kill and the not so skilled player still have lot of time to gear up and clear the content. Also there will be a Catch up patch which lets you upgrade your tomestone Gear to max ilvl. This patches are called "Catch up Patches" for a Reason ^^
I avoid savage cause I know someone will criticize something about my play style
People who think their job is hard should go play FFXI then they'd stfu
Learning the Mechanics > Good Parse
It's always been like this. You will never get good DPS if you keep failing mechanics and you'll be more comfortable doing your DPS rotations if you know the mechanics.
Edit: Also, my static cleared the current Savage tier with double Reaper because of levelling and gearing issues. It's fine to double up as long as everyone is doing their jobs.
Tbh wouldnt say thats the Case. I mean ok double RPR brings lot of DPS but specially in Week 1 you often really need the DPS LB to clear DPS Checks because everyone is heavy undergeared. But usually it changes really fast from week 2 onwards. We cleared Week 1 and always had a hsrd time on Enrage specially in p3& p4s p1. But from week 2 onwards we didnt even saw the Enrage anymore.
@@DantoriusD idk about that my static is on week 3 and we're still struggling with the enrage on p2s.
@@pforgottonsoul well if youre on week 3 and still Struggle with Enrage on p2 than your grp has some serious Problems. To many Deaths, too Many Dmg downs, grp is underperforming. Aside of Limit Cut this Boss has 100% Uptime and didnt even has positionals so no excuse for Melees. So maybe check your logs of the Tries. I can highly recommend xivanalysis. Great tool for checking personal Mistakes and overall Flaws.
@@DantoriusD well we're a casual group and don't want to bring in the toxicity that typically comes with raiding scene so were fine doing things at our own pace. when we did it last night we got it to 1%. But my point is just because you get gear doesn't mean the fights are automatically free.
We cleared p4s week 1 with the absolute Traditional Comp in the Game: War,PLD,MNK,DRG,BLM,BRD,WHM,SCH and it was absolute doable. (Well p3s Healcheck is still Pain in the Ass with WHM+SCH ^^) we already even cleared p1s+P2s with 4 SAM's (it was Hell of Fun).
I really hate this Meta Culture in this Game. Was looking for a Casual Static for my Alt as MCH and always got rejected. But i think this Meta Culture is a Mindset usually Casual or Midcore grps have because they want to Have a Meta Team to compensate the Lack of personal Skill.
You're correct, the "meta slave" mentality is often something that is maintained by those who want to emulate top groups and not really top groups themselves.
Even in top groups, who may switch jobs for optimal comps during progression, it's usually because they are shooting for high rankings which means optimizing to down the bosses as soon as possible, they would never tell you that you need those comps to kill the boss, particularly once better and better gear is available.
play the job you love, nothing is gonna change in the grand scheme of things. anyone that complains are just crybabys that wanna do it 1 or 2% better, hes right, its just dumb, its what peeves me about meta raid people
If you love playing SAM then don't let yourself get pressured into playing another job just because people love to be meta slaves. This attitude ruined WoW and it's going to do the same in FF14 if we let those people get their will.
I mean, SAM already did the most damage, and after the recent buffs it's become neck and neck with BLM for top aDPS. Which is where SAM matters anyway, rather than rDPS which is the "default" on logs and thus tricks people into thinking rDPS is the only one that matters.
Samurai here through and through. Was even samurai on ffxi. I think when I play reaper, I play as if I’m on samurai. And, really, I think the main reason I play as reaper, atm, is because the glamour makes me look like a Sith. I really need a hood for samurai.
Theres a hood glam for sam/mnk. Cant remember where it drop but it has a hood like appearance, got it in my glam. In dungeon i believe
@@akiramurakami3177 atm, I’m wearing the rain hood (sam/mink). The thing about that is that you have to wear a top with a high closed collar (skallic jacket of striking glammed) to make it look right. Open throat and it’s a hood and choker.
I think it more simple.
there's not a lot that goes into, let's say Smn or completing content. It's a simple concept that requires little thought.
However some of this game isn't easy, besides easy depends on the person

Most party finder groups I see on my server usually already has a reaper, so getting in as a dragoon is tough. There are quite a few that note "no reapers pls" though, which is fun.

About Savage, I agree, you can clear it by being just decent at the job. But at the same time, some people in party need to be better than decent, or you're gonna hit enrage. Not all Savage raids of course, but some really need it
It depends on what time you do it. Due to the tomestone items you can really fast outgear the Savage Raids that even a 8 grp of decent ppl can clear it without any Problems.
Were already in Week 7 of normal Raids so from this week everyone could buy the tomestone weapon which makes the whole raid lot easier with that big of improvement.
I've had to deal with being told that MCH is the worst DPS in the game since Endwalker launched, and yet I'm still somehow outdamaging most pubs in high end content, so it sounds like a them problem to me.
Drill does, indeed, go brrrrr.
Maxed my reaper to 90 and haven't touched it since. Been playing Pali and Red mage recently.
Reaper is my main lol I don't care if people say it's weak
But I like No Mercy :(
The only jobs that are hard are healer and tank because if they screw up everyone dies.
